"Doesn't this article seem sillier than most?"

While we still aim for the same level of information quality as the rest of the Wiki, this article's writing style is intentionally more relaxed.

These are games full of love and hope, after all.

MICA Team has been fond of adding April Fools gags in their live-service games over the years. Some are simple, others much more involved, and they usually span the entire month of April.

Girls' Frontline[edit]

During the month of April, several characters will have all or some of their animated chibis swapped for a gag version (the actual in-game files are changed). All past swaps are active at once during this month, making for some surreal scenes in the dorms.

These alternate chibis can be seen by accessing the character's page.

2017[edit]

  • The introduction of the monthly-exclusive chibis swaps: HG Five-seveNFive-seveNFive-seveN became a giant tuna-wielding ferret with a red scarf. Essentially, she's replaced by a terrifyingly huge version of AR FALFALFAL's pet ferret, Fel.

2018[edit]

  • New chibi swap: RF Mosin-NagantMosin-NagantMosin-Nagant is now riding a horse for the whole month, Cossack-style.
  • Sunborn announced on Weibo that the game would be revamped into a boys-only version due to overwhelming demand from female players.[1]

2019[edit]

2020[edit]

  • A new chibi swap: Kalina realized her dream to become a fat orange tabby cat (Kalinya?). She did not realize she would still have to type reports with those paws.
    • As a bonus, AR ADSADSADS and HG SPP-1SPP-1SPP-1, who use guns designed for amphibious operations, will be shooting water instead of bullets.
  • A new isekai anime titled Sangvis Ferri Academy was announced, where the Commander would take the role of a teacher at a school where the Sangvis Ferri ringleaders are students. It will only air in 206X, though.[2]

2021[edit]

  • Five new chibi swaps:
    • All four members of Task Force DEFY (AR AK-12AK-12AK-12, AR AN-94AN-94AN-94, AR AK-15AK-15AK-15 and MG RPK-16RPK-16RPK-16) become furry friends. This is in reference to their in-story nicknames, such as AK-12 "Snow Wolf" and AK-15 "White Mastiff". Because of their lack of opposable thumbs, this swap is limited to dorms and not applied in combat.
    • RF Hanyang Type 88Hanyang Type 88Hanyang Type 88 took the last step and finally turned herself into a full-on Gundam. This chibi swap was eventually turned into her full costume "White Comet, Bearer of Wishes".
  • Dima was announced as a new playable unit.[3] Well, not playable playable, but she(?) was available as an adjutant for a limited time and received new chibi assets for the occasion.
