Servers

CN

CN servers were opened on 21 December 2023 and are operated by Sunborn.

An account must be registered on Sunborn CN, with identity verification based on ID card or passport. This account will be used in the Taptap version. Alternatively, a Bilibili account (with the same identity verification process) can be used, Bilibili does allow for using oversea identification for verification but itself does not support iOS devices.

A general one-year gap was originally announced between the content in CN and other servers[1] (with occasional reordering of events like in Project Neural Cloud), but the release schedule later accelerated with the goal to become synchronized for all regions.[2][3]

KR

The KR servers will be operated by HaoPlay using Steam.

JP

The JP servers will be operated by HaoPlay using Steam.

Global

Global servers in English will be operated either by Sunborn/Darkwinter or HaoPlay depending on the country.

The country limitation only concerns the ability to download the client from the App Store, Play Store, Steam and the official websites. Players can play the game on either server by obtaining the client from alternative sources. Promotional codes are not compatible between servers however, they are issued separately.

The Sunborn/Darkwinter clients support login through Google, Facebook, Apple or Sunborn ID. It's possible to play on a guest account existing only on the local hardware but it is highly recommended to use account binding to not lose data. This server's daily reset is at 08:00 UTC.

The HaoPlay clients support login through Google, Facebook, Apple or email. This server doesn't support guest playing.

The HaoPlay Steam client will be used for the following countries:[4]

The Global launchers also package Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean UI languages, as well as machine-translated French, German, Portuguese, Spanish and Thai.

Platforms

The game is available on mobile platforms for Android and iOS. On Windows PC, it can be played by downloading the client through Steam or from the official website of the desired publisher:

Data will be shared between platforms as long as the game is bound to the same account.

Playing on Linux (Desktop Client)

Last updated on EndeavourOS, 6.11.5-arch1-1. Probably works on almost all other Linux Systems
Written for Global Version. Will likely work with JP/KR versions.

Guide written while in CBT! (2024-11-13)

1. Have Steam installed.
2. Enabled Compatibility mode on Steam.

  2. (Top-Left) Steam
  3. Settings
  4. Compatibility
  5. Enable Steam Play for all other titles
3. Download the GFL2 Desktop Launcher.
4. Add the GFL2 Launcher as a Non-Steam game
  1. (Top-Left) Games
  2. Add a Non-Steam Game to my Library
  3. Select GFL2 Launcher
5. Force use of Proton Experimental on GFL2 Installer
  1. Right click on GFL2 Launcher in the steam library.
  2. Properties
  3. Compatibility
  4. Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool
  5. Proton Experimental
6. Launch, and install the game.

Known Issues

  • On clicking 'Play' in Launcher, the game won't start (nothing happens after waiting).
  1. Stop the launcher (using Steam).
  2. Play the launcher again.
  • Usually happens after the Launcher/Game is forced to restart due to update/installs.
  • Launcher constantly needs to be reinstalled.
  • Not affecting anything, its only the launcher that needs to be re-installed.
  • The main game should still be detected as installed. So its only a minor annoyance that the launcher have to be reinstalled.
