AK-12, sometimes nicknamed “Snow Wolf”, is the “pack's alpha” and second-in-command of Task Force DEFY and a state-of-the-art elite T-Doll specialized in electronic warfare. Her output is sufficient to hack into dozens of military-grade automatons at once, and she is outfitted with Level II debugging equipment to perform field operations on the Neural Cloud of other Dolls. She however recognizes that some EW tasks are out of her reach and only feasible by the members of Squad 404, such as hacking into a Nyto's base layer (which necessitates OGAS compatibility). She's most of the time seen with a mysterious smile, her eyes closed and a smug and brash attitude, but becomes quite serious and cautious in combat. Her status as DEFY's team leader has earned her a reputation as one of the best Tactical Dolls in the world within the covert ops community.

Personality
Her senses are so powerful that she usually keeps her eyes shut to lighten her processing load, relying on secondary sensors to perceive her environment. Along with her unnatural-looking irises, this makes her very conspicuous and ill-suited to HUMINT where she would need to conceal her Doll nature. When she opens her eyes, she enters “deep computation mode”. In the artist's unofficial canon, AK-12 also deactivates her emotional modules during heavy combat, a proposed explanation about why her combat quotes are uncharacteristically curt and to the point sentences. Fans consequently often interpret AK-12 as entering an emotionless state when she opens her eyes, but she is seen talking normally with her eyes open during the story.
Official character description set describes her as an elite T-doll from the Defiance squad. She is an elusive person who comes and goes as she likes, with a short attention span to boot. She usually has a warm smile on her face, but her actions and speech display a lack of empathy for others. Perhaps her true nature is that of an arrogant person. Her usually closed eyes can be said to be a dangerous switch. Those T-dolls who've seen her open eyes know that despite her cheery façade, she has the ability to back up her arrogance.

A character introduced along side AK-12, AN-94 showed her affections to AK-12, stating that she is an important being who she sworn to protect/serve. AK-12 however showed very little emotional/physical affections to AN-94 except on rare occasions, she shows very little care about the existence of any other beings, even to her commanding human officer Angelica.
She finds great pride in being part of a newer generation of T-Dolls, making her reluctant to take instructions from older Dolls like those in AR Team, and sets high standards for the rest of DEFY who were created at the same time as her. But her true motivation resides in taking interesting orders, seeing interesting situations and meeting interesting people (in the “intellectually stimulating”, “surprising” or “unexpected” sense). As a member of Task Force DEFY, she also enjoys a greater level of freedom of choice than other Dolls, and though she still can't disobey direct orders, she was created with the ability to question them, which makes her come off as argumentative. AK-12 is extremely curious, and will satisfy her curiosity by bending rules and tricking others to draw interesting reactions from them.

Story Involvement
Relationships
A core character of the event Singularity, AK-12 played the role of the former leader of DEFY.
AN-94 was created to assist AK-12, and prioritizes her protection as long as it doesn't contradict other orders, even if she is destroyed in the process. 94 embraces this role and dedicates her life to assisting 12, which she views as perfect in every way, to the point where she equates thinking independently to disobeying this base order. This is not to 12's taste because she values independence both as a personal and strategic virtue. When given the occasion, 12 will push 94 to broaden her perspectives and skills beyond being her bodyguard, especially her social skills. Though 94 is gloomier without 12 around, she does not become a less effective combatant in her absence.

Prior to Singularity announcement AK-12 made a none visual appearance towards the end of chapter 10 emergency. Aside from Angelica who addressed her as AK-12, everyone else and the story file addresses her as "The T-doll with her eyes shut".
12 is the only T-Doll to have won a one-on-one fight against AK-15, the most powerful T-Doll in the Neo-Soviet Union, and 12 often berates 15 as a musclehead and a “female gorilla”. 15 conversely isn't fond of her team leader due to her arrogance and reluctance to justify her tactical choices, but deeply respects her abilities and, according to RPK-16, is unconsciously jealous of her. 12 is similarly harsh to RPK-16 because of her strange and suspicious attitude. RPK-16 is the only member in DEFY who replies to 12's snark with her own, and she also claims to be the only one to know what was AK-12's worst mistake of her life. AK-12 has a deep respect for her creator, Shaw.

While AK-12 and Angelia often tease each other, 12 is fiercely loyal to her team leader and devoted to her safety and health, often having to insist against Ange choosing the most dangerous options for herself and remind her that she should always choose to sacrifice her Dolls before herself. 12 would prefer to self-destruct rather than being under the orders of anybody else, including the Commander. 12 does have an interest in the Commander however, due to their ability to never choose the easier option and still come out victorious in battle. At first, she thought and were stupid and amateurish but realized they had been influenced by the Commander and followed the same path. She occasionally dropped by the Griffin base to visit and play pranks on the Commander and their Dolls, considering the base a playground full of interesting people. Due to her keen mind, sharp tongue and her nature as a black ops T-Doll, the Commander is wary of AK-12 but did offer her to join Griffin & Kryuger at one point.

Singularity
AK-12 particularly likes to mess with and force her to drop her mask of indifference. She also likes to tease HK416, though the Squad 404 member is much more tougher game. 12's relationship with is similarly strained, as 12 doesn't have a good opinion of 404's mercenarial black ops line of work.
AK-12 and AN-94 made up the DEFY that served Angelica and fought against the SOCOM, before their meeting with ST AR-15 and M4A1, AK-12 was the team leader. Singularity is a series of highly detailed story told by different routes describing a chaotic crossfire conflict between G&K, Sangvis Ferri, SOCOM, DEFY and 404, stories are arranged based on time instead of story routes to maintain the plot integrity. AK-12 demonstrated her personality, her covert operation effectiveness, her electronic warfare capabilities and her fighting skills against both Sangvis Ferri and SOCOM through out the 21 hours and 20 minutes of Singularity.

Main story
AR-15 joined DEFY out of her own reason, her and AK-12's mission was to severe the communications of a SOCOM relay near by, but however they picked up M4A1's signal alone at that safe room. It wasn't part of their original mission objective to rescue M4A1, but however Angelica updated their mission objectives. AK-12 reminded AR-15 regarding the Parapluie code that remains in her systems, because of this she is unable to dummy-link nor sync her combat with the rest of DEFY. Hence why AK-12 is with her on this mission. Confirming objectives, the two now headed towards the safe room, they overwritten the commands of nearby G&K T-doll remnants to help them draw fire from the Ferri units.

Sangvis Ferri HQ battle
After Task Force DEFY infiltrated the battlefield during Griffin & Kryuger and the KCCO's assault against Sangvis Ferri's HQ, AK-12 temporarily broke through the Parapluie jamming to intercept KCCO communications, gathering intel about their collusion with William to capture Elisa. AK-12 and observed Captain Yegor's attack against the Griffin T-Dolls protecting M4A1, but intervened only after the KCCO troops left, though 12 was of the opinion that Angelia was much too hands-off with a target of M4's importance. To prevent the possibility of KCCO using M4 as bait for Elisa, Angelia ordered 12 to break M4's connection with the Sangvis Mastermind and bring her back. 12 took the opportunity to mess with AR-15 by pretending that Angelia had left to AR-15 the decision to abandon or take M4 back with them. 12 introduced herself to M4 when she briefly awakened but didn't inform her yet that the rest of her team had been destroyed by Yegor.

Rushing to join Ange and AN-94 near the Sangvis Ferri HQ, 12 took control of nearby KCCO automatons to clear a path, then paused to perform Level II debugging and enhancement on M4. Despite immediately visible improvements, 12 was worried about 's newfound recklessness and possible parts incompatibility. After 12, M4 and AR-15 linked up with Ange and 94, Ange ordered 12 to establish a signal blockade to communicate with Statesec and received orders to prevent Elisa's capture. The team captured a KCCO repeater station that 12 could use to tap into military communications, and managed to access KCCO's field servers. Leaving the building to relocate to another relay station, 12 barely escaped an artillery shot from Intruder. When M4 asked 12 to check the status of nearby Griffin forces, 12 attempted to trick her by saying she couldn't monitor them, but M4 had already checked with AN-94 that it was feasible. 12's interest was piqued by M4's caution towards her and was about to comply, but was forced to abort and had the other Dolls cut all external connection, including Dummy control, when she detected that KCCO had activated a strong active defense on all frequencies.

:1640 - 1655 hour
DEFY then moved to help Squad 404 break through the forces of Gager, and with M4 and AR-15 keeping the ringleader's attention, 12 and 94 raided SF's main database to deactivate her subordinate units before hacking into local KCCO automatons to defeat her. Two hours later, Ange, 12 and 94 worked to delay KCCO forces while DEFY and 404 moved to capture Elisa.
The two reached the safe room where RO635 woken M4A1 from, AR-15 carried M4A1 on her back, the group is now set course away from the combat hot zone. They navigated away from the SOCOM scouts and the remaining Ferri units left in the field. "Another Ferri echelon, 10 o'clock, 1700 metres away. Oh my, they blocked three directions!", AK-12 comments cheekily after analyzing enemy signals in the foxhole they are currently hiding in, the Ferri units are hot on their trail since they can detect M4A1's signals.

With a few network authentications bypassed, AK-12 activated abandoned military androids nearby, between AR-15, AK-12 and the subjugated military units, they quickly cleared a path for escape. M4A1 is astonished by the authentication speed, since she also established over-ride connections to SOCOM androids, but for her it was an extremely painful and time consuming process, it also placed her Digi-mind under extreme stress, she couldn't even move let along aim and firing weapons.
Escape through radiations
AK-12 replied saying she isn't just some modified civilian T-doll, she is designed to be an elite.
After Elisa's capture failed and M4 detonated Collapse bombs to destroy KCCO's vanguard, 12 and 94 let M4 and AR-15 run after Elisa as she boarded the Transcontinental Railway to search for Ange, and found her encircled by ELIDs, 12 musing that she never thought she would one day have to use her anti-ELID combat training. 94 field-treated Ange against ELID infection, but to prevent her from giving in to despair from the direness of their situation, 12 slapped her and pointed her gun at her, saying that she should die rather than give up her fight. 12 could not have actually pulled the trigger due to Ange's custom programming to prevent DEFY from attacking her, but gathered some courage from her subordinate's determination.

:1750 hour
While traveling to exit the radiation zone, Angelia ordered AK-12 to hack into a KCCO communications outpost to contact the Commander, and they eventually linked up with Griffin's rescue team, 12 carrying Ange on her back after she passed out. Taking command of the team, 12 led them out of Yegor's encirclement before stopping in a building to resuscitate Ange. Ange considered giving DEFY's to the Commander after wiping out their memories of her, but 12 refused to suffer the same fate as AR Team. On the Commander's suggestion, DEFY repurposed HOC ammo as IEDs and planted them in the building to stake out the KCCO while Yegor's attention was diverted by M4 SOPMOD II and HK416. Due to a lack of experience with planting explosives, 12 and 94 couldn't finish to wire the IEDs when enemy troops arrived. Regardless, Ange bluffed Yegor into retreating. Ange and DEFY then left the area to try to rescue the Commander, but they had already been captured by Paradeus.
The group arrived at a hidden warehouse, AK-12 initiated the repairing and upgrading of M4A1 at the request of Angelica. AK-12 took care of the repairing and upgrading, she made comments on M4A1's body structure, despite being a previous generation T-doll, she have an awful lot of room for potential upgrades. "Thank you for this Miss AK-12...", M4A1 expresses her appreciations to AK-12. "Miss AK-12 sounds too formal, try AK-12 <del>Onee-chan</del> sis!", M4A1 changed her words: "Sis...Sister...?", hearing this, AK-12 changed her mind: "It doesn't sound cute anymore...". AK-12 told her to have a chat with AR-15 to keep her Digi-mind running, as she is about to work on connecting new modules.

M4A1 began inquiring about Commander and the rest of the G&K Forces, to which AR-15 replied that they all retreated, but likely suffered heavy casualties. Losing friends after friends, M4A1's desire for vengeance grows, she swears that she will bring down the Ferri leader for the death of her comrades. At this point AR-15 and AK-12 revealed the truth with SOCOM, based on all the evidence at the safe-room, the true murder of RO was Major Yegor of KCCO. However RO's Digi-mind segment was completely removed and M4 SOPMOD II is nowhere to be found near the scene. AK-12 extended the invitation to M4A1, DEFY is formed to fight against the SOCOM: "DEFY... Do you like the name? You know, it's only a fine line between Defiance and Betrayal.".
Belgrade events
During Paradeus' terrorist attack against Belgrade, AK-12 partnered with M4A1 as the best available fighters to defend the city against ELID Infected while AN-94 and AR-15 searched for the Pike node in the city. DEFY had become aware of the entity in M4's mind and the dangers it posed in her emotionally vulnerable mindset, but 12 thought it only made her more interesting to watch as she knew M4 had not fundamentally changed behind her uncaring facade. 12 noticed early the changes in deployment pattern of Belgrade's containment walls guards, so M4 and her were deployed right as Paradeus infiltrators launched their attack. 12 insisted not to obviously assist the guard to prevent potential political issues but M4 made direct contact with the guards, healing the wounded Lieutenant Dragović in exchange for receiving friendly IFF to make their operation easier.

:1820 hour
12 hacked the access to the wall's control room just in time for M4 to shoot the traitor trying to open the gates and let ELID Infected in, but heard on his radio that the traitors had planted explosives as a contingency. 12 tried to give time to M4 to find the explosives by talking to the rebels through the radio, but they retorted to her pleas to protect Belgrade's citizens that Green Zone citizens did not deserve protection. M4 and 12 attempted to help the guards staunch the ELID invasion but were called back by Ange after a second breach was opened.
Now fully repaired, upgraded and operational M4A1 agreed to join the squadron, AK-12 marked a group of Ferri units nearby for M4A1 to test her upgraded body, the newly rearmed M4A1 fights the enemies with a new found ferocity. AK-12 casually comments on how hard M4A1 is working herself, since the modules are newly integrated, excessive usage might cause Digi-mind melt down. AR-15 expresses her concerns with M4A1's Digi-mind stability, she would be a liability to the squadron during the operation if she were to suddenly break down.

Soon the group's position was bombard, they are now under siege by Executioner and units under her command. With Parapluie turned up to maximum amplitude, even a low ranking Ferri leader Executioner now have unrealistically strong combat performance and large command capability. AK-12 contacted Angelica from an open channel, Angelica manage to reply under the heavy Parapluie influence by using AN-94's Digi-mind as a connection bridge, DEFY's new objective is to defend their position, then move out to rendezvous at location Beta after their support arrives.
M4 and 12 moved to reinforce 94 and AR-15 in the tunnels under the Belgrade fortress and fought against the Sangvis Ferri forces guarding the entrance in the National Theater. 12 became locked in a duel against Hunter, but detonated a bomb they had planted on an exterior wall to scatter the enemies and enable M4 to enter the tunnels. When M16A1 (Boss) and Beak rushed out of the building with the Pike node, 12 found four motorbikes for DEFY to give chase with. AK-12 is later seen compiling the operation report after the recovery of the Pike node.

:1930 hour
Paldiski Submarine Base
AN-94 signaled the group that she is in position, the group now began breaking the siege and meeting AN-94 half way. AN-94 helped the rest of her squad to defeat Executioner, DEFY squad soon reunited, broken the siege and reunited with their Commander Angelica. "Great work this time AN-94.", AK-12 praises AN-94 for her solo operation performance. "...No need, this is what needs to be done.", AN-94 replied submissively.

After Angelia and K's infiltration by sea of the Paldiski Submarine Base, AK-12 and AN-94 followed Ange in the Paradeus labs in the second basement of the base, but they were lured and separated by young Nytos who hacked the DEFY Dolls and crashed them. The team then became quarantined after a power failure caused by Sangvis Ferri's attack. Ange eventually gained the young Nyto's trust to reboot 12 and 94, and they were later freed by Squad 404 who turned the power back on.

M4A1 met Angelica face-to-face again for the second time after the group arrived at rendezvous position Beta, Angelica presented a gift to M4A1, the mobile Ferri artillery platform in the shape of a box, the heavy destructive weapon M16A1 always carried on her back. M4A1 agreed to join DEFY, under the condition that she gets vendetta she wants.
After passing the young Nytos and captured intel to the Commander, DEFY pursued Yegor in his Ares mech into the base after he broke through Griffin's defenses. AK-12 came up with a battle plan with a 5% estimated success rate that would likely result in the destruction of DEFY, but would keep Ange safe. After backing up their Neural Clouds, they trapped the mech in the cramped underground levels and hounded it, taking out its left leg before Yegor used a frag missile to destroy the Dolls with shrapnels. 12 was partially shielded by her teammates and lost her legs in the attack, but recovered the bomb carried by RPK-16 and crawled to the mech while Yegor was searching for Angelia before blowing herself up with the mech's right leg, immobilizing it to be taken down by Ange.

Under Angelica's orders, AK-12 summarized and compared the Intel she gathered inside Central Data Server against what AN-94 gathered, AK-12 comments saying that any further breeches into the data server is now impossible due to how fast Parapluie virus is spreading. AN-94 apologized for being unable to return to the second layer due to the Parapluie influence, to which AK-12 told her not to worry about it, her Digi-mind structure was not made to do this kind of work to start with.
Bremen investigations
Following Angelia's intel about William's hideout in Germany, DEFY was invited into Bremen by Gilda Ulrich and K, who arranged for AK-12 and AK-15 to be dropped by plane into the city because they could not pass for civilians at the city's entry gate like AN-94 and RPK-16. 12 herself suggested the rough airdrop with no parachute to maximize discretion but deeply regretted it after the fact. Her codename during the Bremen investigation was “Lucia”.

"Well, this is the most we can get out of the safe route, the rest we'll have to leave it up to the professionals.", by the professionals, Angelica meant Taskforce 404, with their specialized electronic warfare capability added during the UAV retrieval task back in sector S15. AK-12's role is to create an information black zone for Angelica to analyses Intel, only then they can decrypt what the SOCOM is really up to.
12 and RPK were tasked with interrogating the workers in the flower fields of the Flora Botanical Institute to learn about the institute's clients, but they were interrupted when the Flora cultists attacked, though the attackers quickly retreated when 12, RPK and J's agents retaliated. During the investigations in the Berle Orphanage, 12 autopsied the body of the director to confirm her death by strangulation and helped Ange forge the director's confession of child trafficking, replicating her handwriting and the content of the letter from the pen's impression on her notepad, in order to conceal another piece of evidence from the other investigators.

:2000 hour
During the investigation of the Bremen refugees camp, DEFY lured the Mobile Einsatkommando unit pursuing them in the streets and enabled 12 to leap from a roof and take them down. As Ange and J cornered trafficker Powell in the local church, 12 and 94 were posted on a nearby rooftop to monitor the building, but came under fire when Powell ordered his men to start a riot in the camp. 12 and 94 were supposed to escape with Ange to avoid the explosive-rigged anti-riot automatons sent against the church, but 12 instead ordered 94 to make a stand and when the explosives blew up, they were considered destroyed by all parties. This was a trap set by Ange to feign her weakness and lure Wolfgang Hopps and Morridow to reveal their true goals, and after Hopps' plans to capture Ange for the GIP were foiled by AK-15, AK-12 stealthily replaced the pilot of the plane bringing Ange and Morridow back to Bremen, instead setting a course for Magdeburg and the Neo-Soviet Army’s External Group Force. After Morridow revealed herself as a Paradeus agent who had planned to bring the plane to a Paradeus base instead, 12 exited the cockpit to neutralize her, but Morridow escaped by jumping from the plane.
M4A1 took the leading role of the squadron at the request of Angelica, AK-12 did not oppose this idea, she congratulated M4A1 on her promotion, she even reminded AN-94 to greet the new squadron leader properly.

Angelica gave out the new orders for DEFY, after clarifying SOCOM forces' movement and motive. SOCOM's operation Sector S09 have one purpose only, they wish to capture the Sangvis Ferri head unit, Mastermind. DEFY's objective for the operation will be to stop the capturing of Mastermind and to find out why SOCOM wants her. The first objective for DEFY is to capture an information relay under SOCOM command, after gaining control, AK-12 will access it and read it's contents. After their mission briefing, Angelica will be on a solo reconnaissance mission while DEFY make preparation to rendezvous with 404.
Berlin Investigations
In the aftermath of the Bremen refugees camp riots, Ange and DEFY were captured by the Stasi and brought to Berlin for interrogation, before suddenly being released after two days. 12 and DEFY convinced Ange to take the time to recuperate from interrogation, then escorted her to meet Griffin Lyons at the Athena's Owl bar, but they lost her in the agitated crowd of protesters. Instead, they tracked down the agent monitoring them and found J's vantage point, who managed to convince AK-12 not to go search for Angelia and wait for Light to bring her back after her meeting with Griffin.

M4A1 lead the squadron away, Angelica spoke to AK-12 privately inquired about her personal opinion on M4A1. AK-12 replied: "Compared to the Intel... She is far more eager. But likely being influenced by her Digi-mind, her thought processes leans towards risk taking, also lacking objective focus. Almost like... She is controlled by something other than orders.". AK-12 joined the squadron after the private debriefing with Angelica.
DEFY later came back to Athena's Owl for Angelia to meet with the Commander, and they reunited with the AR Team, exchanging intel about their missions. Following a lead given to Ange by Powell, 12 and 15 easily tapped the network of Flora Institute hallucinogen smugglers in the city's prisons to locate their main supplier, a Galatea Pharmaceuticals building outside Berlin, which Ange raided with AK-12, AK-15 and RPK-16. 12 shielded Ange from an explosion, causing her body to be severely damaged, and received field repairs from AN-94. The same night, DEFY were attacked by Paradeus in their hideout as 12 and Ange were talking about securing more allies for her investigation. With her communications with DEFY cut off and her body too damaged by the previous battle for heavy combat, 12 decided to sacrifice herself to cover Ange's escape despite not having replacement bodies available, and transferred her command authority to RPK-16. Before going down, 12 managed to save Light, who had been immobilized by a foot injury.

:2120 hour
While RPK-16 took over AK-12's role as second-in-command as best she could, this was “AK-12 second biggest mistake of her life” according to RPK-16 as she revealed herself to be a sleeper agent for Paradeus.
While DEFY was waiting for their signal masking to set up, AK-12 made radio contact with Angelica inquiring about her scout reports, Angelica reports that the SOCOM have began to deploy their tank units, a continental train is also stationed here prior to their operation, likely under the orders of SOCOM. AK-12 inquires further about using tanks to suppress a T-doll rebellion, to which Angelica suggests that there must be an item of interest in this sector that SOCOM wants at all cost. Angelica marked the information relay station for DEFY to take over, this will help them relay more information on SOCOM's movement.

:0005 hour
Side stories
On approach to the relay station, DEFY's path is blocked by significantly large amount of military units, SOCOM have began sweeping the Ferri units under the Parapluie coverage. AK-12 returned from her scouting to report the observations, even though their armored units are still staging outside of the area, it is still ill-advised to fight their initial forces with the limited fire power of DEFY. They could however go through a route under Ferri faction region, which will allow them to slip right into the blind spot of the SOCOM, since Ferri is easier to deal with than SOCOM, M4A1 agreed to this proposal.
Beach Party
During an underwater asset retrieval mission, AK-12 and AN-94 meet the Griffin forces who are on a beach vacation. Since the mission has lax time requirements, 12 decides to go distract the Commander and let 94 take a break and relax, but 94 has problems understanding the concept of relaxation. Knowing that explaining won't help, 12 leaves 94 to find out what to do during her downtime and train herself in independent action. The Commander is surprised and deeply concerned to find DEFY at the same place they are visiting. 12 says it's her first time seeing the ocean and assures DEFY is not there to bring trouble. To prove their good faith, 12 suggests a volleyball game and offers to reveal the reason of their presence if the outdated Griffin Dolls can beat DEFY at one set and promise she won't open her eyes to make it easier, though the Commander also makes her promise not to damage the Griffin Dolls too.

While fighting against the Ferri and avoiding of SOCOM, AR-15 comments on how passive the Ferri is fighting, as the fight starts they retreats. AN-94 proposed that they might be shrinking their defense perimeter due to the pressure SOCOM is exerting on them, to which AR-15 argued that the military grade fighting forces can easily deal with any pawns Ferri throws at them, M4A1 sensed this might be a trap, she told AK-12 to take point.
The Commander ends up being the first of 12's victims due to G41 pushing them on the playing field, but they are quickly beaten after 12's first serve get them right in the face. Eventually, DEFY wins against G41, Ameli and SPAS-12, 12 using her winner's prize to take a closer look at SPAS-12's surfboard she had been curious about, but quickly loses interest after figuring out it's a modified riot shield. The Commander offers them slushies G36 prepared for them and 12 gets a brain freeze, revealing a surprising weakness to icy food. 94 later apologies to 12 for nearly starting a fight with FAL after trying to sneakily pet her ferret, but 12 instead praises her for taking action on a whim and says it would have been even better if she had talked to the other Dolls. Later at DEFY's base, 12 finds 94 studying the objective she recovered from the sea but is disappointed to hear 94 say she considers studying it to be relaxing. 12 instead encourages 94 to reflect on the discussion about independence she had with the Commander, and to find her own answers to the logical flaws in their arguments she couldn't process.

"I don't think that is the case, I mean I'm not detecting any sig..."
Sweets and Surprise
After DEFY's latest operation, Angelia gives AK-12 and AN-94 a day off. 12 asks Ange for tickets to the cocktail party Griffin & Kryuger will be attending, and orders 94 to go to the party alone, presenting it as training while secretly planning to attend too and engineer a few surprises. Dreading to face new experiences, 94 packs one of 12's Dummies with her to be more at ease, but 12 notices her plan and hides in the case herself.

A shell landed directly on AK-12's position before she could finish that speech, the entire squadron is scattered from the explosion shockwave.
Inside the case, 12 infiltrates the party and discreetly makes her entrance while 94 is socializing with the Griffin Dolls, then passes as a Doll sent by Griffin HQ and asks the organizers to bring out the poker table to play a game of Texas Hold 'Em, inviting 94 as a partner. She then provokes K2 into joining, adding a stake that the loser will have to perform on stage. After K2 warns the Commander that 12 is plotting something, they consider refusing to allow the game to take place and prevent the Dolls from being pulled into some trap. 12 insists that unlike the previous events at the beach, destiny has brought them together and that the rest of the guests will enjoy watching the game, but MDR is the one who convinces the Commander to allow it.

"...Just in range... That must be the android who was searching for our signal... Checking the actors list before the show isn't a good habit you know.", the Ferri leader contacted via long range communication.
Desperate for something interesting to record and share on socials, MDR had detected 12 and 94's IFF jammer, tried to take a secret photo of 12 but was immediately noticed, and decided to help them make the game happen, seeing them as fellow “Dolls who want to watch the world burn” and adding herself to their team. 12 initially rejects her but changes her mind after MDR shows the data she gathered on them, and 12 even accepts to give her the right to broadcast any interesting footage she might get. Using their high computational abilities, 12 and 94 squarely beat K2, G28, M99, and even HK416 whom 12 provoked into joining. 12 uses the game to train 94 in reading other's emotions.

"A...AK...12... AK-12... AK-12...!!" AN-94 began to panic after she realised what have happened, "Calm down, AN-94 take point, cover the spot left opened by AK-12!", M4A1 commanded AN-94 to stay focus as they are dealing with a Ferri leader.
After a flirty talk with the Commander and attending K2's improvised concert, 12 meets 94 and reveals that she has engineered all the new experiences that evening in order to make her Neural Cloud grow. By packing one of her dummies, 94 had surprised 12 before the event had even begun, and 12 is glad 94 acted outside of her expectations. 94 doesn't understand why 12 would want to make her harder to predict, but 12 stresses that being able to navigate gray areas is more important than reducing the world to ones and zeroes, and asks 94 if she had fun. After deliberating, 94 smiles and says she did, and 12 contemplates gleefully the perspective to have a partner in crime to play tricks on others.

"But... AK-12... Shes...!"

AK-12 appears with AN-94 in Chibi Dolls Theater Healing Chapter Season 2. In Episode 1, they are pulled from the main story into the chibi-verse and get chibi-fied, joining the shenanigans of the other chibi Dolls.

"AN-94, START MOVING NOW!", M4A1 issues the command again.

"I'm not dead yet M4A1..." AK-12 walks out of the cloud of debris and ash, with her snow wolf eyes wide open, her bright pink iris revealed. "Don't exert pressure on her in this kind of situation, she can't deal with this.", she spoke in a cold voice.

AN-94 relieved after seeing AK-12 is still alive. "Damn shame, I really liked this cloak... You are Intruder right? To launch a shot outside of the signal range, nice move..." AK-12 returned communications to the Ferri Leader. Intruder comments that the devastation she can inflict at this range is not remotely close to the superior units above her on the command chain, but since DEFY is considered to be low threat, she will deal with them instead of her boss, at this point she unmasked the signal and she is ready to remove DEFY from this territory.

AN-94 reports large amount of Ferri units approaching from behind. Intruder set them on planned mode so they can navigate by themselves while disconnected from the network. "Are we surrounded again? Why did I mention 'Again', we got a Ferri leader on our head too!" AR-15 remarks. AK-12 proposed that Intruder can be easily dealt with but they shouldn't stick around, otherwise they will risk drawing the attention of the nearby SOCOM units.

M4A1 orders to retreat from this fight, fight their way out of the siege towards the relay, centering the formation around AK-12 as she is able to break in to the SOCOM encryption. Luckily for them, they noticed echelons of G&K forces are also engaged in the fight against Intruder's units nearby while they are breaking the siege, with the chaos they caused, DEFY successfully escaped and infiltrated the comms relay.

:???? hour
AK-12 successfully decrypted encryption and connected herself to the SOCOM's network. Half way through her infiltration M4A1 approached. "Through this information relay, you can monitor the current situation with the Commander and G&K's forces, right?". AK-12 replied: "This information relay doesn't contain links to any combat information, so nope.". M4A1 told her to speak truthfully as AN-94 have already told her the full function of this information relay.

"So that was a rhetorical question then? Heh... AN-94 is such an honest child. But the current priority is to extract the information Angelica need and send it back to her, do you agree?"

M4A1 cannot deny what AK-12 said.

"You have a feeling that when this information is passed on to Angelica, you will miss this last chance at getting Intel on G&K situations, correct?" AK-12 inquires further.

"Forget it..."

"It won't take long to just get a location information on G&K.", enters AR-15. AN-94 also followed her in, "We should focus on the task at hand, AK-12 is doing the right thing.". The group argued until M4A1 told them to stand down. AK-12 gazed at M4A1: "I've already got what I wanted, faster than I expected to be honest." AK-12 said, "I'm slightly interested in G&K's movement myself, I suppose I can have a peep before I disconnect myself...". Before AK-12 could inquire more data the network suddenly destabilized, the relay is now overloaded with electronic currents, all the electronics devices are emitting screeching noises, AN-94 quickly disconnected AK-12 from the terminal.

Quickly recovered herself, she instructed the squadron: "Turn off all radio communication devices, AN-94, severe yourself from all second layer connections, now!", M4A1 inquires about what happened, to which AK-12 replied that the military have encountered some minor big issues, they have activated first tier active defense on their network. She further comments on the strength of the military's electronic warfare capability, due to the attack, she lost her ability to command dummies for a short period of time. But this kind of defenses means that SOCOM have also lost all their connections to their units on the field.

M4A1 told the squadron to rest and recover from the electronic attack, since the entire battlefield is under chaos. Later on the network is recovered, they forwarded the information Angelica requested and received their update orders, 404 squadron's position is compromised before they finished their task, they requested assistance, DEFY's new order is to assist 404 squadron at the Central Data Server, coordinate 20664-5ETK85.

:0214 hour
Arriving at the location, DEFY observes the situation of the Central Data Server. Being the curious T-doll AK-12 is, she made random chatter topics with M4A1: "Were you disappointed? After hearing about the rescue target from Angie, not Soppu, not everyone else, not even the Commander... But 404."

"Orders are orders."

"Aren't you even remotely curious about how the situation develops from this?"

Before M4A1 could reply, she fell into a delusional state, a moment later M4A1 refocused herself. AK-12 apologized for the boring conversation and asked AR-15 to report the observations. The Ferri units have surrounded the facility tightly, M4A1 briefs the squadron on their task, they need to peel away Ferri units from the outer sections first to relief 404's pressure. AK-12 observes M4A1 closely with her eyes shut, noticing this, M4A1 asks what's the matter. "Nothing, just curious what will happen when AR squad captain and 404 captain meets face to face.".

With the plans successfully executed, DEFY arrived outside of the room where 404 hid themselves in. The two squadrons are now united, UMP45 provided her share of Intel on the battlefield. The Ferri units outside are under the command of Intruder, but Intruder is under the command of Gager, UMP45 mailed her plans to defeat Gager to M4A1. With both parties agreed to the plan, they began preparations.

:0315 hour
M4A1 left the facility in attempt to breach the Ferri defense line alone, Gager picked up the signal and went after her. Moments later M4A1's movement slowed down and Gager had her cornered. Little did Gager expect M4A1 wasn't alone, even more to Gager's surprise M4A1 was accompanied by abandoned military mechs.

"Everyone, please, blow up anything that moves!", AK-12 issues commands to the subjugated military armors to open fire on Gager's position. Under the superior firepower, Gager's units were annihilated almost instantly. The combat plan submitted by UMP45 was based on the fact that Sangvis Ferri wishes to capture M4A1 as a T-doll, 45 gambled on M4A1's solo operation will draw out the command unit of the Ferri. With Gager being lead to a site with abandoned military armors, all AK-12 had to do was hack the units remotely.

Defeating the field command unit of Ferri, reunited with 404 and acquired the full intelligence data from the server, Angelica makes plans for the next steps for both DEFY and 404.

:0600 hour
While the rest of the two tasks force were told to get some rest, AK-12 stayed by Angelica to create the information black-zone. After Angelica reported her field reports and speculations back to her superiors, she turned and brief AK-12. "Check the remaining supplies we have, try and track the military force's signal, we got a tough fight ahead of us.".

SOCOM's data server contained excessive information regarding the old Soviet AI system Ogus, however Angelica's superior informs her that the evidence and speculations does not and cannot justify any actions from their side. Despite having the air force on their side, they still cannot issue bombing runs to halt SOCOM's efforts, the country is in a chaotic state, any form of internal conflicts may lead to foreign political pressure. Essentially Angelica receives no supports from her superior in this mission. She turns to her own last resort.

:0800 hour
Angelica briefs the two task force on their missions, she called in an airdrop from her associates, AR-15, M4A1 and 404 are ordered to secure this airdrop while AK-12 and AN-94 stays with their commander.

The two task forces dispatched, AK-12 inquired Angelica's motive of letting M4A1 out on the field, she have already sensed that M4A1 have some form of connection and communication with the Ferri Mastermind, is M4A1 the bait to catch Mastermind, Angelica replied saying that is only half of her plan. By this point the SOCOM's armor units have already mobilized, AK-12 comments on what can they do about that, "Guess we have to own another favor to the G&K Commander...".

Soon the two task forces secured the airdrops, AK-12 points out the flaw in the plan to Angelica, even if this is the last resort, the chance of her capturing Mastermind is still 0%. Angelica replied saying that she wishes to inform M4A1 of her motive, even though M4A1 returned to her cold and cruel former self, she is still willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good.

:0900 hour
The airdrop is a crucial part of Angelica's last resort against the SOCOM, SOCOM makes use of heavily armored units where her two T-doll squadrons are unable to fight against. Her associates delivered her five small canisters of Collapse fluid, when detonated these will trigger Collapse reactions, release mass amount of energy into the blast zone and create a lasting radiated region where no humans can survive in. When used appropriately, these makeshift bombs will rain destruction on the heavily armored SOCOM units. While fitting these bombs, M4A1 detached from the squadron to perform her own tasks under her own motives.

When AR-15 finished her share of bomb attachments, AK-12 contacted, she brings the news that Angelica knows about M4A1's motive. The new objective for AR-15 and 404 is to follow M4A1 and attempt to capture Mastermind by using M4A1 as a bait, and to capture Mastermind before the SOCOM can. "If you don't go after her, the bait will become the meal, you have about 30 minutes to capture Mastermind during their meeting.".

:1230 hour
Meeting with Mastermind was successful while the follow up retrieval operations were not, the two task forces were close to capturing Mastermind, however they were forced to retreat away from Mastermind's powerful servant Agent. Before they could continue the fight against Agent, Major Yegor intercepted communications between Angelica's T-doll units and have moved his KCCO armor units on approach to secure Mastermind.

:1300 hour
Amidst the chaotic battle and radio communications, AK-12 interrupts Angelica: "Even though I don't want to interrupt your commands, but Agent's signal just disappeared.", after defeating Agent and securing Mastermind, the next order for KCCO was to remove all witnesses, G&K, DEFY, 404 and Angelica. Pressured by the armored units, Angelica's unit was on full retreat, they were unable to receive help from the G&K Commander as his/her forces are also being pressed back by SOCOM. In attempt to save HK416, UMP45 received critical wounds, 404 forced to retreat from the battlefield.

With the worst out turn of events at hand, Angelica turns to her last resort, she told M4A1 to detonate the bombs they planted. AK-12 asks whether she is sure about this: "Do you think you can survive a detonation at this range?"

Angelica looked at AK-12: "Doesn't matter, you lot can still carry on the mission."

"Even if you don't care about yourself, think about the G&K Commander, their forces are still engaged in combat with SOCOM!"

"Dammit we're out of time! M4A1 detonate it now!"

Deafening explosion from a distance followed by earth shaking shockwaves. After recovering from the blast, Angelica asked AK-12 to search for their signal. "Can't detect anything, too much disruption...", AN-94 reports that based on visual observations, the Collapse fluid vaporized everything within 500 metres, all enemies neutralized.

"They must be in chaos right now... Now is our chan... *cough*", Angelica began coughing up large amount of blood.

"Blood... Angie?!" M4A1 rushed back to her side.

"Don't worry about me, just some radiation..." Angelica continues to cough up blood due to organ failures caused by the radiation, "What are you looking at me for, hurry up and move!!"

"Then what about you?" -AK-12

"What about me? Go after Mastermind, finish your mission!", Angelica issued her final order to M4A1, "M4, take DEFY... You must... You must capture Mastermind."

Under the command of M4A1, DEFY moves to intercept Mastermind.

:1320 hour
Searching for traces of Mastermind, "The SOCOM units aren't moving, they too close to the blast?" M4A1 said.

"The humans abandoned the equipment and retreated, this is the last slice of luck we have." AK-12 replied.

When asked whether she can trace the signals of Mastermind, AK-12 mentions the radiation disruption is too strong, but this should be the case for SOCOM too. AN-94 notifies the team of a train approaching from 4 o'clock, "That must be them, let's go.". DEFY rushed towards the continental train, where Mastermind is captured and about to be shipped out.

The train escorts have now noticed the squad and began interception, under the final command of M4A1, the rest of DEFY went to attack SOCOM head on while M4A1 boarded the train to capture Mastermind.

AK-12 Strategy Story Quotes Live2D

Personality[edit]

AK-12 with her eyes opened (in “deep computation mode”).

AK-12, sometimes nicknamed “Snow Wolf”,[1] is the “pack's alpha”[2] and second-in-command[3] of Task Force DEFY and a state-of-the-art elite T-Doll[4] specialized in electronic warfare. Her output is sufficient to hack into dozens of military-grade automatons at once, and she is outfitted with Level II debugging equipment to perform field operations on the Neural Cloud of other Dolls.[5] She however recognizes that some EW tasks are out of her reach and only feasible by the members of Squad 404,[6] such as hacking into a Nyto's base layer (which necessitates OGAS compatibility).[7] She's most of the time seen with a mysterious smile, her eyes closed[8][9] and a smug and brash attitude, but becomes quite serious and cautious in combat.[10] Her status as DEFY's team leader has earned her a reputation as one of the best Tactical Dolls in the world within the covert ops community.[11]

Her senses are so powerful that she usually keeps her eyes shut to lighten her processing load, relying on secondary sensors to perceive her environment.[12] Along with her unnatural-looking irises, this makes her very conspicuous and ill-suited to HUMINT where she would need to conceal her Doll nature.[13] When she opens her eyes, she enters “deep computation mode”.[14] In the artist's unofficial canon, AK-12 also deactivates her emotional modules during heavy combat,[15] a proposed explanation about why her combat quotes are uncharacteristically curt and to the point sentences. Fans consequently often interpret AK-12 as entering an emotionless state when she opens her eyes, but she is seen talking normally with her eyes open during the story.

She finds great pride in being part of a newer generation of T-Dolls, making her reluctant to take instructions from older Dolls like those in AR Team,[16] and sets high standards for the rest of DEFY who were created at the same time as her.[17][18] But her true motivation resides in taking interesting orders, seeing interesting situations and meeting interesting people (in the “intellectually stimulating”, “surprising” or “unexpected” sense).[16] As a member of Task Force DEFY, she also enjoys a greater level of freedom of choice than other Dolls,[19] and though she still can't disobey direct orders, she was created with the ability to question them, which makes her come off as argumentative.[4] AK-12 is extremely curious, and will satisfy her curiosity by bending rules[20] and tricking others to draw interesting reactions from them.[19]

Relationships[edit]

AR AN-94AN-94AN-94 was created to assist AK-12,[21] and prioritizes her protection as long as it doesn't contradict other orders,[22][23] even if she is destroyed in the process.[24] 94 embraces this role and dedicates her life to assisting 12, which she views as perfect in every way, to the point where she equates thinking independently to disobeying this base order. This is not to 12's taste because she values independence both as a personal and strategic virtue. When given the occasion, 12 will push 94 to broaden her perspectives and skills beyond being her bodyguard, especially her social skills.[17][4][25] Though 94 is gloomier without 12 around, she does not become a less effective combatant in her absence.[26]

12 is the only T-Doll to have won a one-on-one fight against AR AK-15AK-15AK-15, the most powerful T-Doll in the Neo-Soviet Union,[27] and 12 often berates 15 as a musclehead and a “female gorilla”.[7][3] 15 conversely isn't fond of her team leader due to her arrogance and reluctance to justify her tactical choices,[18] but deeply respects her abilities[28] and, according to RPK-16, is unconsciously jealous of her.[29] 12 is similarly harsh to MG RPK-16RPK-16RPK-16 because of her strange and suspicious attitude.[28] RPK-16 is the only member in DEFY who replies to 12's snark with her own,[30] and she also claims to be the only one to know what was AK-12's worst mistake of her life.[31] AK-12 has a deep respect for her creator, Shaw.[32][33]

While AK-12 and Angelia often tease each other,[34] 12 is fiercely loyal to her team leader[35] and devoted to her safety and health, often having to insist against Ange choosing the most dangerous options for herself[30][36][37][38] and remind her that she should always choose to sacrifice her Dolls before herself.[33] 12 would prefer to self-destruct rather than being under the orders of anybody else, including the Commander.[39] 12 does have an interest in the Commander however, due to their ability to never choose the easier option and still come out victorious in battle. At first, she thought AR M4A1M4A1M4A1 and AR ST AR-15ST AR-15ST AR-15 were stupid and amateurish but realized they had been influenced by the Commander and followed the same path. She occasionally dropped by the Griffin base to visit and play pranks on the Commander and their Dolls, considering the base a playground full of interesting people. Due to her keen mind, sharp tongue and her nature as a black ops T-Doll, the Commander is wary of AK-12 but did offer her to join Griffin & Kryuger at one point.[4]

AK-12 particularly likes to mess with AR ST AR-15ST AR-15ST AR-15 and force her to drop her mask of indifference.[19] She also likes to tease AR HK416HK416HK416, though the Squad 404 member is much more tougher game.[40] 12's relationship with SMG UMP45UMP45UMP45 is similarly strained, as 12 doesn't have a good opinion of 404's mercenarial black ops line of work.[41]

Wolf Pack Project[edit]

Sangvis Ferri HQ battle[edit]

After Task Force DEFY infiltrated the battlefield during Griffin & Kryuger and the KCCO's assault against Sangvis Ferri's HQ, AK-12 temporarily broke through the Parapluie jamming to intercept KCCO communications, gathering intel about their collusion with William to capture Elisa.[20] AK-12 and AR ST AR-15ST AR-15ST AR-15 observed Captain Yegor's attack against the Griffin T-Dolls protecting AR M4A1M4A1M4A1, but intervened only after the KCCO troops left, though 12 was of the opinion that Angelia was much too hands-off with a target of M4's importance.[19] To prevent the possibility of KCCO using M4 as bait for Elisa, Angelia ordered 12 to break M4's connection with the Sangvis Mastermind[42] and bring her back. 12 took the opportunity to mess with AR-15 by pretending that Angelia had left to AR-15 the decision to abandon or take M4 back with them.[19] 12 introduced herself to M4 when she briefly awakened but didn't inform her yet that the rest of her team had been destroyed by Yegor.[43]

Rushing to join Ange and AR AN-94AN-94AN-94 near the Sangvis Ferri HQ,[34] 12 took control of nearby KCCO automatons to clear a path, then paused to perform Level II debugging and enhancement on M4.[44] Despite immediately visible improvements, 12 was worried about AR M4A1M4A1M4A1's newfound recklessness and possible parts incompatibility.[23][16] After 12, M4 and AR-15 linked up with Ange and 94, Ange ordered 12 to establish a signal blockade to communicate with Statesec[6] and received orders to prevent Elisa's capture. The team captured a KCCO repeater station that 12 could use to tap into military communications,[16] and managed to access KCCO's field servers.[42] Leaving the building to relocate to another relay station, 12 barely escaped an artillery shot from Intruder. When M4 asked 12 to check the status of nearby Griffin forces, 12 attempted to trick her by saying she couldn't monitor them, but M4 had already checked with AN-94 that it was feasible. 12's interest was piqued by M4's caution towards her and was about to comply, but was forced to abort and had the other Dolls cut all external connection, including Dummy control, when she detected that KCCO had activated a strong active defense on all frequencies.[45]

DEFY then moved to help Squad 404 break through the forces of Gager, and with M4 and AR-15 keeping the ringleader's attention, 12 and 94 raided SF's main database to deactivate her subordinate units before hacking into local KCCO automatons to defeat her.[46] Two hours later, Ange, 12 and 94 worked to delay KCCO forces while DEFY and 404 moved to capture Elisa.[47]

Escape through radiations[edit]

While traveling to exit the radiation zone, Angelia ordered AK-12 to hack into a KCCO communications outpost to contact the Commander,[35] and they eventually linked up with Griffin's rescue team, 12 carrying Ange on her back after she passed out.[48] Taking command of the team, 12 led them out of Yegor's encirclement[49] before stopping in a building to resuscitate Ange. Ange considered giving DEFY's to the Commander after wiping out their memories of her, but 12 refused to suffer the same fate as AR Team.[50] On the Commander's suggestion, DEFY repurposed HOC ammo as IEDs and planted them in the building to stake out the KCCO while Yegor's attention was diverted by AR M4 SOPMOD IIM4 SOPMOD IIM4 SOPMOD II and AR HK416HK416HK416. Due to a lack of experience with planting explosives, 12 and 94 couldn't finish to wire the IEDs when enemy troops arrived. Regardless, Ange bluffed Yegor into retreating.[51] Ange and DEFY then left the area to try to rescue the Commander, but they had already been captured by Paradeus.[52]

Belgrade events[edit]

During Paradeus' terrorist attack against Belgrade, AK-12 partnered with M4A1 as the best available fighters to defend the city against ELID Infected while AN-94 and AR-15 searched for the Pike node in the city. DEFY had become aware of the entity in M4's mind and the dangers it posed in her emotionally vulnerable mindset, but 12 thought it only made her more interesting to watch[53] as she knew M4 had not fundamentally changed behind her uncaring facade.[54] 12 noticed early the changes in deployment pattern of Belgrade's containment walls guards, so M4 and her were deployed right as Paradeus infiltrators launched their attack. 12 insisted not to obviously assist the guard to prevent potential political issues[55] but M4 made direct contact with the guards, healing the wounded Lieutenant Dragović in exchange for receiving friendly IFF to make their operation easier.[54]

12 hacked the access to the wall's control room just in time for M4 to shoot the traitor trying to open the gates and let ELID Infected in, but heard on his radio that the traitors had planted explosives as a contingency. 12 tried to give time to M4 to find the explosives by talking to the rebels through the radio, but they retorted to her pleas to protect Belgrade's citizens that Green Zone citizens did not deserve protection.[56] M4 and 12 attempted to help the guards staunch the ELID invasion but were called back by Ange after a second breach was opened.[57]

M4 and 12 moved to reinforce 94 and AR-15 in the tunnels under the Belgrade fortress and fought against the Sangvis Ferri forces guarding the entrance in the National Theater. 12 became locked in a duel against Hunter, but detonated a bomb they had planted on an exterior wall to scatter the enemies and enable M4 to enter the tunnels.[58] When M16A1 (Boss) and Beak rushed out of the building with the Pike node, 12 found four motorbikes for DEFY to give chase with.[59] AK-12 is later seen compiling the operation report after the recovery of the Pike node.[60]

Paldiski Submarine Base[edit]

Task Force DEFY against Yegor.

After Angelia and K's infiltration by sea of the Paldiski Submarine Base,[61] AK-12 and AN-94 followed Ange in the Paradeus labs in the second basement of the base, but they were lured and separated by young Nytos who hacked the DEFY Dolls and crashed them. The team then became quarantined after a power failure caused by Sangvis Ferri's attack. Ange eventually gained the young Nyto's trust to reboot 12 and 94, and they were later freed by Squad 404 who turned the power back on.[41][7]

After passing the young Nytos and captured intel to the Commander, DEFY pursued Yegor in his Ares mech into the base after he broke through Griffin's defenses.[62] AK-12 came up with a battle plan with a 5% estimated success rate that would likely result in the destruction of DEFY, but would keep Ange safe. After backing up their Neural Clouds,[30] they trapped the mech in the cramped underground levels and hounded it, taking out its left leg before Yegor used a frag missile to destroy the Dolls with shrapnels. 12 was partially shielded by her teammates and lost her legs in the attack, but recovered the bomb carried by MG RPK-16RPK-16RPK-16 and crawled to the mech while Yegor was searching for Angelia before blowing herself up with the mech's right leg, immobilizing it to be taken down by Ange.[2][9]

Bremen investigations[edit]

Following Angelia's intel about William's hideout in Germany, DEFY was invited into Bremen by Gilda Ulrich and K,[11] who arranged for AK-12 and AR AK-15AK-15AK-15 to be dropped by plane into the city because they could not pass for civilians at the city's entry gate like AN-94 and RPK-16. 12 herself suggested the rough airdrop with no parachute to maximize discretion but deeply regretted it after the fact. Her codename during the Bremen investigation was “Lucia”.[13]

12 and RPK were tasked with interrogating the workers in the flower fields of the Flora Botanical Institute to learn about the institute's clients,[28] but they were interrupted when the Flora cultists attacked, though the attackers quickly retreated when 12, RPK and J's agents retaliated.[63] During the investigations in the Berle Orphanage, 12 autopsied the body of the director to confirm her death by strangulation[64] and helped Ange forge the director's confession of child trafficking, replicating her handwriting and the content of the letter from the pen's impression on her notepad, in order to conceal another piece of evidence from the other investigators.[65]

During the investigation of the Bremen refugees camp, DEFY lured the Mobile Einsatkommando unit pursuing them in the streets and enabled 12 to leap from a roof and take them down.[66] As Ange and J cornered trafficker Powell in the local church, 12 and 94 were posted on a nearby rooftop to monitor the building, but came under fire when Powell ordered his men to start a riot in the camp. 12 and 94 were supposed to escape with Ange to avoid the explosive-rigged anti-riot automatons sent against the church, but 12 instead ordered 94 to make a stand and when the explosives blew up, they were considered destroyed by all parties.[67][68] This was a trap set by Ange to feign her weakness and lure Wolfgang Hopps and Morridow to reveal their true goals, and after Hopps' plans to capture Ange for the GIP were foiled by AK-15, AK-12 stealthily replaced the pilot of the plane bringing Ange and Morridow back to Bremen, instead setting a course for Magdeburg and the Neo-Soviet Army’s External Group Force. After Morridow revealed herself as a Paradeus agent who had planned to bring the plane to a Paradeus base instead, 12 exited the cockpit to neutralize her, but Morridow escaped by jumping from the plane.[69]

Berlin Investigations[edit]

In the aftermath of the Bremen refugees camp riots, Ange and DEFY were captured by the Stasi and brought to Berlin for interrogation, before suddenly being released after two days.[3] 12 and DEFY convinced Ange to take the time to recuperate from interrogation,[37] then escorted her to meet Griffin Lyons at the Athena's Owl bar,[70] but they lost her in the agitated crowd of protesters.[71] Instead, they tracked down the agent monitoring them and found J's vantage point, who managed to convince AK-12 not to go search for Angelia and wait for Light to bring her back after her meeting with Griffin.[72]

DEFY later came back to Athena's Owl for Angelia to meet with the Commander, and they reunited with the AR Team, exchanging intel about their missions.[73] Following a lead given to Ange by Powell, 12 and 15 easily tapped the network of Flora Institute hallucinogen smugglers in the city's prisons to locate their main supplier,[74] a Galatea Pharmaceuticals building outside Berlin, which Ange raided with AK-12, AK-15 and RPK-16.[38] 12 shielded Ange from an explosion, causing her body to be severely damaged, and received field repairs from AN-94.[75] The same night, DEFY were attacked by Paradeus in their hideout as 12 and Ange were talking about securing more allies for her investigation. With her communications with DEFY cut off and her body too damaged by the previous battle for heavy combat, 12 decided to sacrifice herself to cover Ange's escape despite not having replacement bodies available, and transferred her command authority to RPK-16.[33] Before going down, 12 managed to save Light, who had been immobilized by a foot injury.[1]

While RPK-16 took over AK-12's role as second-in-command as best she could,[76] this was “AK-12 second biggest mistake of her life” according to RPK-16[31] as she revealed herself to be a sleeper agent for Paradeus.[77]

Side stories[edit]

Beach Party[edit]

The Commander ends up being the first of 12's victims due to AR G41G41G41 pushing them on the playing field, but they are quickly beaten after 12's first serve get them right in the face. Eventually, DEFY wins against G41, MG AmeliAmeliAmeli and SG SPAS-12SPAS-12SPAS-12, 12 using her winner's prize to take a closer look at SPAS-12's surfboard she had been curious about, but quickly loses interest after figuring out it's a modified riot shield. The Commander offers them slushies AR G36G36G36 prepared for them and 12 gets a brain freeze, revealing a surprising weakness to icy food. 94 later apologies to 12 for nearly starting a fight with AR FALFALFAL after trying to sneakily pet her ferret, but 12 instead praises her for taking action on a whim and says it would have been even better if she had talked to the other Dolls.

Sweets and Surprise[edit]

AR AN-94AN-94AN-94's cocktail party dress, with the box containing AK-12's dummy.

She then provokes AR K2K2K2 into joining, adding a stake that the loser will have to perform on stage. After K2 warns the Commander that 12 is plotting something, they consider refusing to allow the game to take place and prevent the Dolls from being pulled into some trap. 12 insists that unlike the previous events at the beach, destiny has brought them together and that the rest of the guests will enjoy watching the game, but AR MDRMDRMDR is the one who convinces the Commander to allow it.

Using their high computational abilities, 12 and 94 squarely beat K2, AR G28G28G28, RF M99M99M99, and even AR HK416HK416HK416 whom 12 provoked into joining. 12 uses the game to train 94 in reading other's emotions.
