Second Antarctic War
The Second Antarctic War (第二次南极战争) is a conflict waged between the Antarctic Union (AU) and the Union of Rossartrism Nations Coalition (URNC) starting in 2112.
Considering Reverse Collapse: F is set to take place during a new world war 50 to 80 years after Girls' Frontline: Blue Butterfly Contract, it is highly probable this game will take place during the Second Antarctic War.[1]
Background
The First Antarctic War ended with an uneasy ceasefire negotiated in Singapore in 2094 following operation Tinder. The URNC recognized the legal status of the AU, and the AU lifted its blockade of URNC countries. An uneasy peace lasted 18 years before the start of the new war.[2]
At some point during the interwar period, the URNC sent teams to explore the original site of the Beilan Island Incident, where contamination had fallen to manageable levels after the release of most of its Collapse particles. Learning about the operation, the AU's Main Intelligence Directorate organized a black op called Operation Epiphyllum (“昙花” 行动) to investigate, under the cover of a United Nations Health Agency team deployed to decontaminate a nearby Collapse Particle cloud. The agents reported the presence of GAVIRUL embryos in the Relic site shortly before the UNHA team was attacked by rioters and Collapse contamination suddenly spiked for unknown reasons, infecting all humans in the area and prompting the URNC to execute all survivors before dropping thermobaric weapons on the area.[3] It's yet unclear what role if any Operation Epiphyllum played in the start of the Second Antarctic War.
