Plot
This story takes place in an alternate timeline where characters from Girls' Frontline live in the setting of Arena Breakout, which takes place in the Dark Zone of the fictional island-country of Kamona. The Dark Zone is a quarantined, lawless region where mercenaries called “operators” work for the many gangsters and groups of influence seeking illegal profit.
Three operators, known as the Commander, Kuro and Mityl, are hired by an anonymous client to transport a mysterious box from the town of Marulos, on the eastern coast of Kamona, to Northridge Hotel, in the mountains of the Northwest. Though they don't know each others, they quickly form bonds of trust unexpected from operators. They start their journey by boat, where the Commander meets another strange operator called Beluga. During the journey, the Commander, Mityl and Kuro discover that the boat is transporting human slaves, and decide to free them. As Beluga helps them, the boat is attacked by two competing groups, assassins from the Antonio family and operators from Blackgold Universal, who are trying to capture the box. After they make a getaway, Beluga seemingly betrays her new comrades by leading Blackgold Universal's Abyss Squad to them, capturing the box.
Abyss Squad is led by SMG HecateHecateHecate, a former soldier of Kamona's military who worked with the Commander on a hostage rescue operation four years ago. As the operators pursue Beluga, they are stopped by Doss Anthony, the head of the Antonio family. Apparently working for Doss, Beluga surrenders the box to him and blows up a bridge to prevent the operators from pursuing. But as Doss leaves the scene, Beluga kills her Antonio guards and leads the operators to the location where she hid the real box. She explains that the Commander, Mityl and Kuro are only one of the six teams tasked with transporting six identical boxes to Northridge. Beluga is certain that their box is the real one however, claiming that she only exists to protect it.
To avoid attention, the Commander leads Mityl and Kuro to Northridge through a hidden climbing path, where they worked with Hecate four year ago. However, Hecate is waiting for the operators at the top, and they become locked in a stalemate when the operators threaten to drop the box from the cliff. Taking advantage of Hecate's competitive nature, the Commander leads Mityl and Kuro on a trial to break out of Blackgold's encirclement, and win. Hecate is about to honor her word and leave when one of her men causes Kuro to fall off the cliff. The Commander and Mityl are still attached to her with their safety ropes, but are on the verge of falling too. Hecate mocks the Commander for insisting to put their trust in their companions, just like they did four years ago. At the time, they had entrusted their life to a warmate, who betrayed them for a chance to join the army and leave Kamona, only surviving thanks to Hecate. Hecate saves the three operators and leaves, insisting to lose with dignity.
At Northridge Hotel, it is revealed that the box contained an unconscious girl with a colored streak in her hair. With help from Beluga and Task Force DEFY, a group of operators led by Angelia and previously hired by the unconscious girl to ensure her own safety in the future, the operators escape the hotel with the girl. Though Angelia and the Commander have only met a few times, they feel a strong bond of comradery. Later on, the Commander continues to work with Kuro and Mityl against slavers.
Kuro (MDR) and Mityl (P90) are flesh-and-blood humans instead of androids in this setting. Though all the characters originally from Girls' Frontline setting feel an attraction to each other, only Beluga (M16A1) seems to know the reason. This is related to the plot of Cartesian Theater, where it was revealed that M16A1 has been protecting M4 through multiple spaces and times from Nirvana.

Trivia
- The name of the event refers to the Lorenz attractor, an application of mathematical chaos theory which makes a shape somewhat reminiscent of a butterfly's wings when plotted in three dimensions. The attractors define states which chaotic systems have a tendency to gravitate, just like the characters in the story are reunited despite being in a different universe.
