The United Nations is an international organization serving various functions with non-national interests. They were disbanded during World War Three and re-established in 2062.[1]

United Nations Health Agency[edit]

The United Nations Health Agency, or UNHA, was active after the First Antarctic War and surveyed the movement of Collapse Fluid clouds. A team of UNHA agents were infiltrated by MID, and were wiped out during the Second Beilan Island Incident.[2]

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees[edit]

This agency was not reestablished in 2062, but the Global Rescue Foundation established in 2075 was considered the successor of this agency and the International Committee of the Red Cross.[3]

United Nations Medical Research Institute[edit]

In the later parts of the Cold War, after the Relic Arms Limitation Treaty, the UN Medical Research Institute was set up on the Falklands Islands, ending the authority of the Soviet Union over its largest gulag facility dedicated to biological relics experiments. Early progress in artificial linkage for Assault Artillery platforms were made there.[4]

United Nations Relic Science Agency[edit]

The United Nations Relic Science Agency (联合国遗迹科学署), colloquially “Relic Agency” or “Relics Agency” (遗迹署)[5][6]) is an international scientific agency founded in 2012, dedicated to the discovery of relics site and research on the technological artifacts contained inside.[7] Their logo was a blue globe, which can still be found in the foundations of Avernus at the abandoned site of a high-tech city project.[8]

They ran the GAVIRUL Reproduction Project until 2012, when it was deemed a failure and the Agency refocused on the discovery of new relics site and the development of the Weight Bearing system.[9] By 2023, the Agency had lost a lot of its influence, but managed to support the exploitation of the relics site in Antarctica that would become Hollow City.[1] They also led the Holy Grail Project, or “human connectome project”, which sought to replicate the mind transfer and gestalt technology called “Nirvana”. Holy Grail was also abandoned but its key member Martha Meitner would later revive it under the name Hela Project at Paradeus.[6]

The Agency was closely involved in disaster relief efforts all over the world after the Beilan Island Incident, but their efforts were squandered by political opportunism and tensions. In the year after the incident, two projects that sought to preserve mankind from complete destruction during the impending World War Three appeared among the agency's members: Project Prometheus, which proposed to infiltrate key organizations and guide mankind toward the formation of a world government, and Project Beacon, which proposed to create a closed community of mankind's best in Hollow City. In 2033, the agency's director Raeder Rossartre publicly released his report on the impending end of mankind before committing suicide.[10]

Rossartre's revelations caused a rise in violent activism and the United States expelled the Agency from its New York headquarters and all of its members. Before leaving the country, they held a vote on which project to support, and Project Beacon won the majority despite Rossartre calling it a betrayal of the Relic Agency's ideals. From then on, the two factions claiming to operate under the ideal of Rossartrism were called the Beaconists, the official position of the Relic Agency, and the Prometheans, who consider themselves the guardians of the Relic Agency's untainted ideals.[11]

World Health Organisation[edit]

As a part of the United Nations and due to concerns about the rapidly increasing number of ELID infections in the 1980s, the WHO, along with the Vatican, acted as mediators to encourage the Soviet Union and United States to meet and discuss the Relic Arms Limitation Treaty.[12]
