Worldview is one of the categories in the Handbook screen of Girls' Frontline's main menu. It presents relevant lore information from the first Confidential Files.

The excavation of an unknown Relic site in Eastern Europe in 1905 marked mankind's first contact with Collapse and Reverse Collapse technology. In 2030, a group of middle schoolers accidentally ventured into a top secret Relic site. The subsequent rescue attempt went wrong and triggered a chain of events that culminated in a widespread leak of Collapse Fluid, a key substance in the aforementioned technology. The failure to contain the leak resulted in unprecedented devastation to the entire world—cities were lost instantaneously, the world population suffered a massive plunge, and a large amount of habitats were contaminated. This horrific catastrophe that completely changed the face of the earth is henceforth known as the Beilan Island Incident.

A Tactical Doll is a kind of Autonomous Doll that specializes in combat. Due to the post-war manpower shortage and environmental hazards, there has been an ever increasing demand for Dolls in the military sector, which resulted in the creation of Tactical Dolls. First-generation T-Dolls were little more than A-Dolls with guns in their hands, whereas with the implementation of Imprint Technology and Dummy Network, second-generation T-Dolls possess much higher combat capability, making them more effective in large-scale warfare.

Dummy

Through Dummy-Linking, individual Tactical Dolls (or "mainframes") can operate multiple Dummies. Dummies possess the same combat capability as their mainframe but are incapable of complex computations. Their level of intelligence is only sufficient for accepting and executing commands. Also, by wearing the same clothes and wielding the same weapon, Dummies can act as decoys and divert attacks targeting their mainframe.

A technology that IOP has acquired from an external source which enables Doll memories of to be backed up onto their main server. When a T-Doll mainframe is lost in battle, the next iteration of the same Doll will inherit the last memory backup. Due to the lengthy duration of the backup process and limitations regarding the distance of data transfer, backups are usually only conducted at the Command Post outside of combat. However, in cases of emergency, Dolls can temporarily back up part of their memories onto an external hard disk.

After the Beilan Island Incident, unprecedented cataclysm spread like wildfire across the planet. As nations scrambled to salvage the situation, they also resorted to pointing fingers and placing blame on each other. In the end, all the animosity boiled over and in 2045, a global conflict broke out due to shortages of uncontaminated land and food supply. This became known as World War Ill in history. Civilization and order are on the brink of collapse when the war finally ended. Governments are no longer able to maintain public safety, which has led to the rise of private military contractors. Since contamination has rendered vast swathes of land uninhabitable and unusable, there are also significant technological breakthroughs in robotics and artificial intelligence.

Private Military Contractor

After the end of WWIII, in order to minimize financial expenditure and administrative strain, the surviving nations and organizations only focused on maintaining a select number of big cities and industrial hubs. Security in the smaller cities and remote areas was delegated to private military contractors that offered the highest bids, which has led to the rise of a myriad of PMCs. These PMCs started reaping in great profits in the name of preserving stability, and industrial companies that supplied them with weaponry and equipment also flourished. In the early days, PMC forces consisted mainly of human mercenaries, but with the advancement of Doll technology, there are now also PMCs with a workforce that is predominantly made up of Tactical Dolls.

In 2053, retired veteran Kryuger founded a PMC known as Griffin & Kryuger. It is mostly funded by his associates in the government and other conglomerates. In the beginning, like many other PMCs, Griffin hired human mercenaries to fill their ranks. However, when the first-generation Tactical Dolls were introduced a year later, Kryuger saw new possibilities in them. He wanted to purchase T-Dolls to replace the mercenaries as Griffin's main force, thus reducing human casualties.

IOP Manufacturing Company

An industrial manufacturing company founded during World War III. With technological support from the former 90wish member Persica, they started producing Tactical Dolls in wartime. On top of manufacturing T-Dolls equipped with firearms, they also produce Autonomous Dolls for civilian use. IOP is Griffin's main T-Doll supplier. As per the friendly agreement between the two companies, Griffin can return any surplus Dolls or Dolls recovered from the battlefield that are still in usable condition to IOP. IOP will disarm and repurpose them before putting them out into the civilian market again.

Sangvis Ferri Industries

An old big name in the industrial manufacturing sector founded a year after the Beilan Island Incident. While other major industrial companies were thrown into disarray by the radiation outbreak, Sangvis Ferri took over the local market through their comprehensive and high-quality military industrial products. After the end of World War III, the company brought in former 90wish member Lycoris, whose brainchild, an AI known as "Elisa", helped them develop brand new Tactical Dolls. Following the Butterfly Incident, the Sangvis Dolls went berserk and killed all the human workforce. By now, Sangvis Ferri has completely fallen into the hands of the AI. To humans, they are the enemy, a bunch of monsters and murderers.

An online group formed by a number of technological experts that first surfaced in the middle of WWIII. They plead for nations and organizations to put more emphasis on technological innovations rather than relying solely on wartime industrial productions. They also opposed the idea of fighting enemies using forces of large numbers, violent measures, and scorched-earth policies that caused environmental damage. 90wish vanished soon after their first public appearance, and since most of their expertise only concerned Autonomous Dolls, their views did not gain much traction in society. However, other organizations took notice of them and recognizing their potential, contacted them in private. Currently known creations of 9Owish members include the Zener Protocol, Etching Theory, and Elisa, which were all probably derived from their research in Collapse Technology.

Etching Theory

The result of Persica's individual research and a concept that enables two objects to form a stand-alone connection. IOP applies this theory on T-Dolls, "Etching" specific firearms onto them and giving them incomparable combat proficiency. Persica has stated at a private occasion that this theory was derived from her research on Collapse Technology.

Imprint Technology

A kind of applied technology built upon Etching Theory known as "ASST", short for Advance Statistic Session Tool. Before a T-Doll is rolled out, she is matched with a specific firearm, and a unique connection is established between the Doll and the selected weapon component. A T-Doll shows enhanced accuracy and overall combat proficiency when wielding her Imprinted firearm. She is also constantly attuned to the weapon's presence and can locate it anytime. Though this is an open-source technology, Persica still has exclusive knowledge of the primary design data.

Zener Protocol

A wide-area communication protocol developed by 90wish. Similar to peer-to-peer technology, the protocol establishes a direct communication network that enables Dolls to transmit messages to each other without relying on a mainframe or satellite uplink, significantly enhancing T-Dolls' operation efficiency while also improving network stability and security.

Destruction

Mankind's first contact with Collapse and Counter-Collapse technology could be traced back to the exploration of unknown life forms in 1905. People believed that such technology could completely revolutionize the world, but remained oblivious to its specific purpose...
Until 2030, when a series of events (known as the First Beilan Island Incident) triggered by a few middle-schoolers' misadventures caused a large-scale leakage of Collapse Fluid, the essential material of this technology. Since then, mankind finally realized what Collapse actually entailed...

Pre-War

Cities were vaporized instantly. Populations in the surrounding area also plunged due to radiation infection. Unprecedented catastrophe spread like wildfire throughout the planet, until eventually, it reached a critical point. In 2045, amidst the strife for unpolluted land and food sources - mankind's most innocent and barbaric motive for anything - World War III broke out.

Post-War

The world was further devastated after the war. Order and civilization were all but extinct, and sovereignties could no longer ensure the safety of their people. Meanwhile, mechanical technology had seen many breakthroughs due to the war, introducing Tactical Dolls to mankind.
T-Dolls look no different than regular human girls, but possess mechanical bodies that are far superior to those of human beings. Beneath their convincing charade of emotional display, they are essentially cheap life that could be made with nothing but money and resources.

Hope

Still, they are much more dependable than most human beings in such troubled times, not just because of their incredible efficiency in executing orders, but also because of their pure souls, which dissentients brush off as “mere programs”.
To follow the trend, private military contractors using T-Dolls as their main forces began to emerge. As a tactical commander of Grifon Military Contractor, you shall lead our T-Dolls into areas where chaos and lawlessness reign, enforce the security of human beings, and uncover the truth behind this war.[3]
