Frankfurt Battle Report
The Frankfurt Battle Report (法兰克福战役报告) is a booklet included in the limited Frankfurt Battle Report Gift Box (法兰克福战役报告礼盒) distributed to CN players of Girls' Frontline in December 2024. It contains material covering the final year of the game's main story.[1]
The gift box was planned to be distributed in limited quantity to players who submitted screenshots of their completion of Convolutional Kernel on NGA's Girls' Frontline subforum or the Baidu Tieba and Weibo groups between 14 December and 22 December 2024.[2] In a Weibo message on 17 December, Sunborn acknowledged the community backlash regarding the low amount of gift boxes planned.[3] In another message from 20 December, Sunborn explained that the game's producer QiuQiu (球球) had arbitrarily altered the distribution process, and that members of the writing team were involved in the incident.[4] 80 players were selected in an official capacity.[5]
Starting 18 April 2025, a commercial version of the box was sold for 288¥.[6] The content of this version was altered compared to the previous limited release.
Original release content
- A folded cardboard map of Frankfurt with key locations of the battle
- A physical version of one of the “Response Letters to the Commander” available in-game during Convolutional Kernel, at random from M4A1, M16A1, AR15, RO635, SOP2, HK416, UMP45, AK12, AN94, SCAR-H, AR18, Stevens M520, Kar98k, WA2000, Suomi, Tareus, Kryuger, Nele, J or Kalina. A blank letter to be used as stationary was also included.
- One polaroid format picture of the included letter's writer.
- A letter from Griffin Lyons announcing the Commander's (faked) death to an unidentified next-of-kin.
- A metal Griffin wax seal.
- An artwork display containing red glitter.
- Frankfurt Battle Report A5 booklet, with 49 pages of content and extra blank pages to be used as a notebook:
- Pages 2-3: Foreword by executive producer and writer QiuQiu (球球).
- Pages 4-5: A timeline of Episode 15 of Girls' Frontline's main story.
- Pages 6-17: Overview of each of the six parts of Episode 15: The Summer Garden of Forking Paths, Cartesian Theater, Zero Charge, Angular Gyrus, Isolation Forest and Convolutional Kernel.
- Pages 18-21: Overview of the collab events Through the Looking-Glass and Lorenz Butterfly.
- Pages 22-23: A timeline of the game development in 2024.
- Pages 24-27: Commentary on the writing process of Episode 15 by writers QiuQiu (球球) and Shanzhu (山竹).
- Pages 28-31: Annotated maps of Frankfurt with the events of Episode 15.
- Pages 32-33: Schematics of Avernus and events related to it during the Battle of the Dead Sea.
- Pages 34-43: Messages to players from Sunborn developers LinPlus, RIRE, 教练, 秀秀, 天乐, EC, 山竹, 老九, 大饼, 蜜蜡, 妍君 and 球球, and Vanguard Sound's GhostFinal, azusaTaxhi, LCC, Kinoko and their PV team.
- Pages 44-49: Development team credits.
Commercial release content
The following content was changed in the commercial release:
- All “Response Letters to the Commander” and pictures were included.
- Page number of the booklet was reduced from 49 to 40:
- Foreword by QiuQiu (球球) was replaced with a foreword by Yuzhong.
- Episode 15 commentary from QiuQiu (球球) and Shanzhu (山竹) was removed.
- QiuQiu and Shanzhu's messages to players were removed.
- Development team credits were removed.
