The flames of war rages across higher-dimensional battlefields, and the fabric of the world lines is on the verge of collapse. With annihilation drawing near, the goddess Lunasia turns to Griffin's finest Tactical Dolls to assemble a team capable of facing the ultimate crisis. These elite agents are thrust into a relentless training program where past battles are reborn in virtual arenas. Each mission challenges their limits as they navigate randomized battlefields, testing their combat cores and sharpening their skills through unyielding trials. The countdown to a cataclysmic storm has begun—will they be ready to face the chaos beyond dimensions?
— Announcement blurb[1]

Project NET is the development codename of a Girls' Frontline Unity 3D[2] Third-Person Shooter spin-off currently in development by Sunborn's Hecate Team.[3] The game is planned for release on mobile platforms and PC.[4] The game features auto-aiming, a “roguelike-inspired tactical chip system” for character builds and 5v5 multiplayer.[1]

Hecate Team was registered as a Sunborn subsidiary on 16 October 2024. Social media accounts were opened on 6 December 2024, the first teaser posts made on 19 December, and the first announcements and trailer on 27 December. “Chrono Squad” (later changed to “Chronology Squad”), composed of AR OTs-14OTs-14OTs-14, SMG MP7MP7MP7, MG PKPPKPPKP, HG Nagant RevolverNagant RevolverNagant Revolver, SG SPAS-12SPAS-12SPAS-12 (under the non-copyrighted name “Sportivo Calibro 12”) and RF WA2000WA2000WA2000 (under the non-copyrighted name “W2000”) were introduced as playable characters.[5] A “Warp Jump Test” on Android platforms was announced for Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines from 9 to 16 January 2025,[6] with both PvP and PvE modes.[7] A second beta titled Shock Point was announced as the Warp Jump Test concluded,[8] running in the Philippines and Russia.[9]

A new teaser in February 2025, told by “an agent of the goddess Lunasia”, revealed the setting of the game in a simulated world inside Nirvana, which the “guardians of the space-time continuum” had accessed using “Transcendence Mode”.[10] Maps were introduced over the next days: Training Ground (a “Doll fire control module testing facility located in the Central European region and managed by I.O.P.”), Lotz Grand Hotel, Submarine Base (in the Paldiski Submarine Base), The Third District (“A famous commercial hub in the heart of Beligrad”, with a misspelled “Belgrade”) and Mysterious Factory (“A mysterious factory located in the southeast of the Bohnsdorf village”).

Trivia[edit]

  • Most of the assets seen in betas are based on existing 3D models from Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium, with PKP being the only all-new 3D model. The official website also reused the track GF_22W_BGM_2 from the Girls' Frontline Original Soundtrack.
  • A post from the seemingly official account @xProjectNET, deleted soon after the initial announcement, claimed the game was a fan project.[11]
