Official Character Description
A Doll born from conspiracy. The former leader of H.I.D.E. 404, now working with Lenna on confidential missions for the Non-Military Forces Administration. She always wears a smile and a polite demeanor, concealing the personality of a fox. Once your guard has been lowered with a smile, she will get what she wants with sharp words and outmaneuver you before you could react, smiling playfully all the while. Her close ones know what the smile truly conceals: the determination to protect people important to her. When danger appears, the fox becomes a lion and bares its sharp fangs.[3]
Leva is still considered a member of 404, but is no longer its leader for the duration of her work with Kalina.[4]
Lore / Story involvement
Leva is featured in the following stories:
- Dusty Memories#Tales of the Seaside
- Chapter 4: Reverse Matrix
- Into the Shadows
- Deep Oblivion
- Breaking Butterfly
- Corposant
Name
It is explained in Dusty Memories - Tales of the Seaside that Lenna is the one who decided on 45's new name, while 45 herself couldn't care less.
The reference book used by Lenna claims the name Leva (莱娅, láiyà) is related to “lion”. This is probably from the word for "lion" in Russian, Ukrainian and other Slavic languages, "лев" (lev), with an "a" naively added for feminine declension. The real word for "lioness" is львица (l'vitsa) in Russian and левиця (levytsa) in Ukrainian.
As a result, HK416 went back to her previous codename Klukai, derived from “Krokodil”, German for “crocodile”, so that both leaders of Squad 404 would represent the apex predators in water and on land in the savannah.[5]

Trivia
- Leva was first discovered in datamines of the second beta, with the file name “laiya” (transliterated by fans as “Riva”). She then appeared in fighting gear in the second trailer and was featured in the story at launch. She was again teased under the latinized name Leia with her classic appearance during the G-STAR 2024 game conference in South Korea,[6] and her new playable appearance was revealed during the 1st Anniversary livestream, ahead of her actual implementation during Deep Oblivion.
- In keeping with tradition, one of the merchandising items introduced during the Deep Oblivion announcement stream was a “boobs” mouse pad representing Leva's head and bust.[7] It did not include a wrist-rest.
- Not being allowed to catch a break, Leva has also been used to censor some parts of RO's body in her PV.
- No breaks in character profiles either. Multiple ones.
- If equipped with a UMP45 weapon in the Refitting Room, Leva's special weapon animation will have her balance the gun's stock on her hand. This is in reference to her victory animation in Girls' Frontline.
- In one of her dorm poses, Leva is watching on repeat a record of Klukai being badly damaged by Blusphere during the events of Aphelion.
