The FN SCAR (Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle) is a family of gas-operated short-stroke gas piston automatic rifles developed by Belgian manufacturer FN Herstal (FN) in 2004. It is constructed with modularity for the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) to satisfy the requirements of the SCAR competition. This family of rifles consists of two main types. The SCAR-L, for "light", is chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO and the SCAR-H, for "heavy", is chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO. Both types are available in Close Quarters Combat (CQC), Standard (STD), and Long Barrel (LB) variants.

The SCAR-L, designated Mk 16 by USSOCOM, was intended to replace the M4A1, the Mk 18 CQBR and the Mk 12 SPR that had been in service (before SOCOM decided to cancel the order for the Mk 16 Mod 0).

Character Background

A legendary Doll who served during WWIII, and a leader held in high esteem. Returned to active duty in the field with her outstanding capabilities after being restarted by Griffin, she rarely speaks of her past glories of days gone by.

Trivia

  • The availability of a T-Doll based on the SCAR family has long been awaited by the player base even before the introduction of RF SCAR-HSCAR-HSCAR-H and SCAR-L in Eclipses & Saros, and their potential inclusion has been teased for some time.
    • A SCAR-L has been visible on the main menu in the icon of the Combat button since alpha versions of the game.
    • "SCAR" was mentioned as one of Squad FN's Dolls in MG M1918M1918M1918's Neural Upgrade story in 2018.
    • A 2018 artwork by 水乌龟 shows a Doll that was potentially meant to be a SCAR.
    • The designs of SCAR-L and SCAR-H were teased in May 2021 during the Girls' Frontline 5th Anniversary convention, in the form of a pair of cardboard standees.
  • Much like SMG MPKMPKMPK and SMG MPLMPLMPL, SCAR-L and RF SCAR-HSCAR-HSCAR-H were implemented with a Union Skill on release.
  • The "even-numbered" tiles in her skill description refer to tiles 2, 4, 6 and 8 when using the keypad format.
    • While allies are present on SCAR-L's Sancta Terra tiles, they give her Sancta Potentia points, this includes SCAR-L herself so she can gain anywhere between 1 ~ 4 points per second for each ally present on her tiles. 5 ~ 8 per second if currently paired with SCAR-H. On skill use, SCAR-L will consume all points to buff her own DMG stat increasing it by a maximum of 1000 points.
