Florence Story Profile Quotes

Career[edit]

The UL-Nurse is a Doll model developed by Ultimate Life in response to the urgent need for medical staff in the wake of World War 3.

A UL-Nurse is a master in all forms of clinical operations and high-level nursing skills. It can efficiently perform multiple operations by itself, which greatly alleviates pressure on medical systems all around the world.

Florence was an irregularity in the UL-Nurse production line. Early on during her Neural Cloud construction, an error in the environmental simulation setup caused her to display unexpected abnormalities in her neural system when she awoke.

Normally in the case of such errors, regulations state that Florence should have been put into a deep sleep, but during testing, her professional skills were found to far exceed others of her model. Under those special circumstances, she was not only released, but selected for Project Neural Cloud.

Doll Profile 1[edit]

It wasn't long after she arrived at John's Hospital on an exchange program that she gained a reputation for being the most troublesome Doll in the entire hospital. When she was first sent over by Ultimate Life, many doctors went to spectate her test where she amazed everyone with her excellent clinical and nursing skills. However, within 3 months, even the interns, who hardly saw her at all, started to avoid her.

Not a soul could cope with the strange ideas that Florence dreamt up, and fewer still were willing to undertake her "improved" nursing skills for a prolonged period, even if they would eventually prove to be very valuable.

Doll Profile 2[edit]

Florence has a penchant for pursuing "unconventional" pleasures. Almost everyone who has worked with Florence suffers because of it, but they have to put up with it as there's no one who could possibly replace her. She is able to easily care for tens of (or even more) patients with wildly different afflictions. No matter how complex or problematic the clinical operation or nursing process, she glides through it like nothing.

With her comprehensive medical knowledge, she can even precisely fine-tune a doctor's prescription and dosage according to a patient's exact situation.

As a result, only Florence can so quickly determine any changes in a patient's condition through even the most minute of symptoms. Since she started at Project Neural Cloud, 300 or more patients have been saved due to Florence's emergency treatment, and countless patients have avoided any deterioration due to her extraordinarily fast response time.

And so, everyone at the hospital silently endures Florence's odder eccentricities.

Doll Profile 3[edit]

For highly understandable reasons, few people hang around Florence unless work demands it. To keep Florence busy and from refining her devilish schemes, the dean tasked her with supervising interns and trainees.

There's nothing more useful than someone who works hard without complaint—like an intern or trainee. Florence can freely exert her devilish preferences on them without fear of reprisal. Of course they don't go without compensation; Florence is a boundless fount of medical knowledge which she freely shares with them. She also gives them practical experience opportunities that they wouldn't have gotten at other hospitals, although she's never admitted to it.

Florence's abilities, which surpasses nurses and even doctors, have caused many of her charges to believe she is a doctor herself. Only when she starts bossing people around as the chief nurse officer will they finally believe that she is actually a nurse.

And so, there is a legend that spreads around hospitals that cooperate with John's Hospital. Like a monk sweeping the temple floors that is secretly a martial arts master, so too is there a medical mastermind at John's Hospital disguised as a nurse. And every day, in the darkness of night, she wanders the hall with a drip needle in hand and a peculiar smile.

Doll Profile 4[edit]

John's Hospital has a reputation that precedes it, not just in Baltimore, to the point where it could be considered a world-class institution. It's no surprise then, that the hospital has established strong relationships with several official institutions including the Baltimore Fire Department.

This is how Chelsea first met Florence. After a large-scale fire, doctors and nurses were sent to the front lines to assist. Standing on the roof of the ambulance, that petite silhouette burning with vim and vigor left quite an impression on Chelsea. It even led her to believe that this was a very conscientious and reliable doctor.

Of course, it only took until their second meeting for that illusion to come crashing down. Till this day, Chelsea still refuses to elaborate on that fateful encounter.

Doll Profile 5[edit]

When Florence first arrived at the Oasis, Persicaria watched her like a hawk. Every action she took was nipped in the bud, until Florence's pitiful countenance made its way in front of the Professor. She promised to stop tormenting the other Dolls, and this finally made Persicaria relent and rescind her constant surveillance.

It would be less than a day before Florence's true nature was revealed. She didn't violate the terms of their agreement; she just moved the target of her designs to the Professor.

"You said it was ok, right? I promised I wouldn't bother any of the Dolls. My, my, don't be so strict. What's with that face, Professor? Hey! Heehee~"
