This section will cover the instructions for obtaining the game client and registering an account in order to play the game.
Choosing a publisher
Currently, there are multiple servers of the game that can be categorized into three groups:
Sunborn Servers(CN) - the current main collaborating publisher.
-Bilibili Servers - another publisher who received the right to host its own servers.-
Sunborn Servers(JP/EN/TW) - English/Japanese/Traditional Chinese version of this game. Servers are split between languages. Note that Japanese version's name is Dolls' Frontline.
The registration method, payment method for premium currency, and events may be different depending on the server you choose:

Remember that there can be exceptions and everything here is subject to change.
Once you've decided the server you want to play in, follow the correct instructions below to get into the game.
This is the officially released procedure for data inheritance。
No matter what you want to do next, you must be in Chinese Mainland and use network tools like [Steamcommunity 302] or [Watt Toolkit] to help you connect with Steam. You can
Register a Steam account with "Country of Residence" set to China.
Or transfer Steam account country to China.(not recommended)
Visit https://gf-hk.sunborngame.com/main/register/ to create an account (E-mail must be different from Sunborn CN account). If you are existing Sunborn EN/JP account, you can just use it.
For the original Sunborn CN players, click "Inherit Data Through Sunborn CN Pass Account". For other players, click "Inherit Data via Unique Identification Codes".

Selecting a server
After reaching the main menu,

Press confirm to start downloading data. Please be aware that having extra resource data downloaded will greatly improve the in-game performance.
For the current game version, you need to go to in-game settings to download the character voice data manually.
Tap the screen when download reaches 100% to proceed.
Entering the game
Enter the player name in the form and tap Confirm(确定). Tap confirm again when a prompt box appears.
The game will return an error if the name is already taken or contains invalid characters. If that occurs, simply change to another name and try again. You may need to try different capitalizations or character lengths.
Otherwise, the game will proceed directly to the prologue.
NOTICE: As of October 31st 2024, Sunborn CN has disabled account registration for this server. New users cannot register for Girls' Frontline (Sunborn CN) until further notice. Likewise, you can no longer download the client from official sources.
Downloading the Client
To obtain the client apk, visit the game site then tap Download for Apple(Appstore下载) or Download for Android(Android下载), which is decided by your device.
Install and launch the client after the download is complete.
Selecting a server
After reaching the main menu, it's highly recommended to select a non-full server. Tap Change Server(变更) to reach the server selection menu.
On the left side of the screen is the server selection menu. The colored text left of the server name indicates its current status:

Busy
Under Maintenance
Since it is not possible to register on a full server, it's highly recommended to tap on a recommended or busy server.
After selecting a server, tap the screen to proceed to account registration.
Downloading resource pack
After server is selected, press confirm to start downloading data.Please be aware that having extra resource data downloaded will greatly improve the in-game performance.
For the current game version, you need to go to in-game settings to download the character voice data manually.
Tap the screen when download reaches 100% to proceed.
Registering an account
You will be shown following page the first time you enter the game. To continue, agree the terms and confitions, then tap Confirm agreement(我同意) to confirm.
The game can only be played with a regular sunborn account. To register for an account, tap Register sunborn account(注册散爆账号).
The registration window will appear. Input your phone number and password, then tap Send verification code(发送验证码) to receive a SMS code which will be sent to your phone number above.
Fill the code in the corresponding box, then tap Register(注册).
Be aware that though there is an option saying Register an email account(注册邮箱帐号), you will actually not be able to register an email account for this fuction is now being closed.
The game should automatically proceed to login process after this. You can further manage your account in in-game settings-Account management(账号管理)
Verifying Account
Due to the new government regulation laws, players in mainland China must have their citizenship ID verified in order to register an account, so you'll be likely to be asked for verification after finishing the registration in Sunborn servers(CN) and Bilibili servers.
Unlike before, you will NOT be able to enter the game unless finish your citizenship ID verification. You will receive this window the moment you tap confirm in the previous registration.
Enter your name and ID number appropiately, then tap to confirm.
IMPORTANT: For the player outside China, you can generate the Chinese Citizenship ID at MyFakeInfo Website. Find the desired ID and the name you want in order to fill the entry.

The game will return an error if the name is already taken or contains invalid characters. If that occurs, simply change to another name and try again. You may need to try different capitalizations or character lengths.

Registering an account
You are now at the login screen.
If you are not in possession of a phone number supported by bilibili, it is imperative that you register by email instead should you want to prevent yourself from getting locked out of your account permanently if you forget your password. For email registration, check see the following section for more information.Email or username login can be done by clicking the icon below.
Otherwise, just change your region by tapping +86, then input your phone number and tap next step(下一步), a verification code will be sent to your phone afterwards, registration will be completed automatically once you input the code you received.
Registering a Bilibili account by email with a computer
Enter your email address and captcha. Click to accept User Agreement, then tap “Send Verification Mail”
Check email for verification links to proceed.
Enter user name and password (6-16 character, case sensitive). Note this will not be your in-game display username.
Your registration is now complete. You can now log on to a Bilibili server via email.
Proceed to log in with your Bilili email and password (not username) by tapping Log on (登陆).
Verifying Account

You can tap any available choices above to quickly register. It is recommended to link your account with Sunborn ID as soon as you register. Or, you can tap Sunborn ID to login/register with it instead. Note that these servers shares same account but different game data, so you don't need to register on both server if you wish to play on different server.

Registering an account

You can tap any available choices above to quickly register. It is easy to link your facebook or google account. Or, you can tap Using Tianxia account(天下帳號) to login/register with it instead. Also, login as guest(遊客登入) is enabled. Note that these servers shares same account but different game data, so you don't need to register on both server if you wish to play on different server.
Be aware that you will also need to agree the term of service and the privacy policy, as is shown in the following picture.
You are now at the registration screen. Simply enter your username and password and tap Register.
