Mai Profile Quotes

Career[edit]

The MAIA was developed by 42Lab, and is a scientific research Doll designed for meteorological monitoring and research. It is equipped with essential functions such as environmental data collection, analysis, and prediction and is responsible for assisting the scientific research team in completing research and testing work.

To meet their profession's requirements, 42Lab upgraded MAIA's environmental adaptation systems, increasing MAIA's outdoor resistances and its ability to handle extreme weather.

Mai was awoken comparatively late and she lacks work experience compared to similar Dolls, but her brilliant execution and enthusiasm for work have been recognized by members of the science team. Therefore, when Project Neural Cloud started, the institute decided to add her to the recommendations list.

Doll Profile 1[edit]

Monday, April 2nd. Weather: Clear. Wind: Easterly 2.

Today was my first day in the field... but it seems like I messed up...

I didn't properly calibrate the instruments before setting off, and only discovered the problem when I started the test...

Fortunately, it was just a small test, but I must be better next time!

I can do this! I won't be a liability!

Doll Profile 2[edit]

Saturday, July 7th. Weather: Thunderstorm. Wind: South Easterly 5.

It was really coming down today! We had to hide in the temporary camp.

But... I did so love the rain. Sitting by the tent door, listening to the pitter-patter of the water falling on the grass... wouldn't it be great if we could also have some hot tea and snacks?

So I asked the instructor if she had any snacks, but she said she only brought compressed biscuits.

Ahh, but biting into this brick would knock all my teeth out, right?

We had some spare time, so the instructor taught me some important camping skills. When I go out with the exploration team in the future, I'll be able to help!

Doll Profile 3[edit]

Friday, November 16th. Weather: Overcast. Wind: North Westerly 7.

Wow, what strong winds! It actually blew all the huts into the sky...! But even scarier than the wind were the guys from the laboratory. They even asked me, won't I also be blown out into the sky if I wear this monitoring balloon every day? Could it be they don't know how heavy a Doll is?

...Eh? Wait a second. Is this what the instructor mentioned earlier? "Special measures to deal with extreme weather"? It couldn't be that I'm the only heavy one out of all the 42Lab Dolls? Eh? Eh? No, it can't be, I have to ask Max and the others and get to the bottom of this!

(Added November 17th: Wahhhhh... it was true after all!)

Doll Profile 4[edit]

Monday, December 24th. Weather: Light Snow. Wind: North Westerly 2.

I just handed in the last batch of monitoring records, and I will return to the laboratory this afternoon to prepare for Project Neural Cloud testing.

Does being in the first batch of subjects mean that the researchers acknowledged me? To be honest, when I first heard the news all those weeks ago, I was so excited I almost cried on the spot... but then I thought about everyone working hard over the holidays... I can't fall behind.

There's been no snow all winter. I never would have imagined it was waiting for the perfect time. The flakes started falling today, Christmas Eve. It's so beautiful.

Doll Profile 5[edit]

?????, ??/??/????. Weather: ? (Weather Monitor Failed to Acquire Valid Data)

How much time has passed...?

I heard the others saying that we've been sleeping in the cloud for a long time. How is the real world doing? I should have left more weather records... if I'm away, then everyone at the institute must be so busy. In the end, I've left them with more problems...

Ahh, it's no good to think like this. At least, with the Professor's help, I've found my place among the Exiles. I also need to start studying for the duties I'm responsible for.

I shall pull through all kinds of difficulties! You can do it, Mai!
