AUG Strategy Story Quotes Live2D

In many ways, AUG is a unique AR-type T-Doll. She was the first AR unit to have a large tile buff aura providing damage and accuracy bonus to all types of T-Dolls, and the first non-MG doll capable of reaching over 120 rate of fire.

Individual Performance[edit]

Skill[edit]

Her active skill can be considered a powerful Rate of Fire boost, able to provide the equivalent of 150 RoF even at skill level 1, at the cost of reducing her own firing accuracy. As her skill is leveled, this accuracy penalty is reduced, and at skill lvl 10, the accuracy debuff is removed entirely. In addition, the skill has a special effect called "sweeping fire mode", giving AUG a chance to switch to a random target after each attack. The skill itself can be activated 4 seconds into a fight, the long cooldown and short duration means her total skill uptime is relatively low when compared to other 4 second initial CD dolls, her total empowered time in a fight is lower than most 5* AR dolls. But being able to fire at 150 RoF partially compensates for the downtime DPS loss.

Sweeping fire mode was originally introduced when MG HK21Thumb button.pngHK21  entered the game. This skill effect gives AUG a chance of hitting enemies positioned at the rear of their formation, which is normally impossible for dolls besides RFs and AR RFBThumb button.pngRFB . However, it also means AUG lacks the ability to focus on a singular enemy unit to remove their presence off the field. The switch chance is greater if large amounts of targets are present on the field, as demonstrated on June 2018, when AUG landed three consecutive hits on the same target when there were only two enemy units remaining on the field within firing range.

Note that the sweeping fire mode skill effect overwrites the focus target effect of HG ContenderThumb button.pngContender 's Inquisitor's Bullet skill.

Stats[edit]

Comparing AUG to other AR dolls, she holds the 4th highest accuracy attribute, an above average damage stat, and a moderate base rate of fire. By default, AUG has a 30% critical rate, as oppose to the usual 20% on other AR dolls. A comparison graph showing how AUG compares with other AR units is available: green indicates AUG, red indicates AR average, while orange indicates average stats from 5* rarity AR dolls only (not including modified dolls).

Combat Performance[edit]

AUG's active skill raises her DPS output by a significant margin, however with the 7/9 uptime/downtime setting of her skill, AUG's performance may not be able to compete with some long skill duration AR dolls such as AR ST AR-15Thumb button.pngST AR-15  and AR Type 97Thumb button.pngType 97  when it comes to long duration battles. Though with a 4 second initial cooldown, AUG is definitely formidable in short duration battles. Being unable to boost her own damage stat also means that AUG is not as strong as other ARs when dealing with the high armor enemy units common in the later stages of the game.

Formation[edit]

Tile Bonus[edit]

AUG provides offensive-orientated tile buffs in a large area, enhancing the damage and accuracy attributes of her allies. Unlike other AR dolls that can only provide their tile effects to SMG units, AUG provides her tile buffs to all allied units regardless of type.

Affects all types
Increases damage by 12%
Increases accuracy by 20%
Universal Benefactor

Being able to support every doll type with her tile buffs, AUG is classified as a 'universal benefactor' unit. Though the bonuses are smaller than others of this archetype, her buffs focus on offensive stats that pretty much every doll in the game can benefit from. AUG can fit comfortably in a wide variety of echelons thanks to this trait.

Flexible Placement

The large coverage area of her tiles contributes to the idea of flexible placement, as no matter where AUG is placed in the back line, she can always deliver tile bonuses to at least 3 T-Dolls. Combined with her universal benefactor trait, AUG is one of the most flexible T-Dolls available in game.

Compatibility[edit]

The primarily tile bonus AUG should be receiving is damage, as while her skill does provide her with insane levels of RoF, this does not come with a boost to her base damage stat. When provided with damage bonuses, AUG can fully capitalize upon her skill's uptime and the 150 RoF it provides. Because her skill is able push her rate of fire up to the AR unit cap, rate of fire bonuses will only benefit AUG during her skill's downtimes, which is roughly 57% of her total combat time. In contrast, damage bonuses can benefit AUG during 100% of her total combat time, and especially while she is empowered by her skill. At level 10, the skill's accuracy penalty is removed, and combined with her high innate accuracy, AUG should have no problem hitting targets during diurnal combats. Because of this, accuracy bonus can be largely ignored. It is worth mentioning AUG has 10% more base crit chance than other AR type T-Dolls, so critical hit rate bonuses will have greater effect on AUG as she only requires 28% additional crit rate boosts from external sources to reach 100% crit rate.

  • Examples of SMG dolls compatible with AUG are: SMG UMP45Thumb button.pngUMP45  (damage and crit rate), SMG AK-74UThumb button.pngAK-74U  (primarily damage), SMG P90Thumb button.pngP90  (primarily damage), SMG G36CThumb button.pngG36C  (relatively small damage), and SMG Honey BadgerThumb button.pngHoney Badger  (damage and crit rate, but awkward tile shape compatibility).
  • Examples of HG dolls compatible with AUG are: Contender (damage and crit rate), HG PythonThumb button.pngPython  (damage and crit rate, but awkward tile shape compatibility), HG Colt RevolverThumb button.pngColt Revolver  (damage and damage increase active skill), and HG Grizzly MkVThumb button.pngGrizzly MkV  (damage and damage increase active skill).

AUG-centered AR/SMG formations[edit]

Since AUG's bonus extends to every doll type, it is common to build ARSMG echelons centered around AUG standing on tile 4, as from there she can provide her damage bonuses to both of the frontal SMG dolls and the other two AR dolls at the back. This combined with her own strong damage output means that simply having AUG present in a team can greatly improve the offensive attribute of an echelon.

Tile 1/7 ARs:

AUG can be grouped with AR dolls who can increase their own rate of fire, such as ST AR-15, Type 97, or AR ACRThumb button.pngACR . AR dolls who do not require as much additional RoF, such as AR AK-12Thumb button.pngAK-12 , AR Howa Type 64Thumb button.pngHowa Type 64 , and post-MOD AR G36Thumb button.pngG36  can also make good partners for AUG. This way, they can benefit from an additional 12% bonus provided by AUG, all while being fed with the same type of tile bonus they themselves and AUG both benefit from.

Tile 5 SMGs:

Many tile 5 main tank SMGs can provide bonuses directly to AUG (as well as the 2 AR dolls on slot 1 and 7), but the damage/accuracy bonuses from AUG's tiles don't really benefit their tanking performance, and will only serve to negate the damage penalty from their T-series exo-skeletons. Dolls such as AK-74U and SMG C-MSThumb button.pngC-MS  will be able to boost the entire back row, while dolls like SMG Type 79Thumb button.pngType 79  and SMG ThompsonThumb button.pngThompson  will skip over AUG because they have cannot provide bonuses to tile 4.

Tile 8/2 SMGs:

By default, SMG dolls lacks damage and accuracy, so feeding them damage and accuracy tile bonuses will greatly improve their damage output. Tile 8/2 SMGs are usually optimized for damage, as dolls placed in 8/2 tiles have less chance of being targeted if tile 5 is also occupied. Incidentally, not many 8/2 slot DPS SMGs can provide useful bonuses to AUG (or provide bonuses at all in extreme cases due to tile shape). DPS-focused SMGs such as C-MS can provide useful bonuses back to AUG when placed in 8/2, and dolls like SMG JS 9Thumb button.pngJS 9  and SMG SR-3MPThumb button.pngSR-3MP  provide a less beneficial rate of fire bonus but also give critical hit rate. Dolls like Honey Badger provides good bonuses but will usually miss tile 4 due to awkward tile layout.

  • Grenade-throwing dolls like SMG VectorThumb button.pngVector  and SMG PP-19Thumb button.pngPP-19  will not be able to boost slot 4, as they can only buff the tile directly behind them. SMG PPS-43Thumb button.pngPPS-43 ,on the other hand, can actually provide boosts back to AUG, although her low damage multipliers make this a hard sell.
  • Of special note is SMG UMP40Thumb button.pngUMP40 , arguably the most powerful DPS SMG with the most awkward tile in the game. Since UMP40 cannot provide bonus back to AR dolls in the backrow, many players struggle to find compatible echelons for her. With an AUG-centered echelon, however, slot 1 and 7 AR dolls are getting 1 additional tile bonus. Pairing AUG and 40 together can make up for the bonuses 40 does not provide, while giving 40 a small damage boost.
