Weapon Background[edit]

The Chiappa Rhino is an Italian solid-frame double/single-action revolver. The most distinctive feature of the Rhino is that the barrel is on a much lower bore axis, due to the revolver firing from the bottom-most chamber of the cylinder rather than from the top-most chamber like in most conventional revolvers.[1]

The Rhino was designed by a pair of Italian gunsmiths, Emilio Ghisoni and Antonio Cudazzo. Like many of Ghisoni's designs, the Rhino was made to be visually and mechanically unique compared to other handguns on the market. The revolver's appearance was finalized in 2008, and would be Ghisoni's last firearm design as he passed away that same year. Stylistically, the Rhino bears resemblance to some of Ghisoni's previous designs, including the Mateba Autorevolver and the Mateba Unica.

Unusual among revolvers, the Rhino fires from the lowermost chamber in the cylinder as opposed to the uppermost. This is intended to reduce muzzle flip by aligning the recoil more into the shooter's wrist, rather than above it. A downside of this design is that it increases the vertical distance between the sight line and the bore axis (sight height), meaning the gun will have a greater parallax error when aiming at close range. Another distinctive feature is that the cross-section of its cylinder is hexagonal (though with rounded corners) instead of circular; this is intended to narrow the weapon's profile in concealed carry applications. An additional feature of this gun that makes it stand out from other revolvers is the inclusion of an accessories rail, on which tactical lights and lasers can be mounted.

The Rhino can be chambered in a number of different calibers, including .357 Magnum/.38 Special, 9mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, and 9×21mm cartridges.

Character Background

Petite and nimble, she's highly adept at concealment and infiltration, and often makes surprising finds in unexpected locations. After much training and practice, she is very confident in her abilities. She's serious and practical and closely adheres to her mission directives, but this often leads to her being tricked. She always believes the lies and doubts all the truths she is told. The subject of why she wears such an obvious and ill-fitting cloak seems to be taboo to her.

Trivia

  • Rhino's skill will have an effect show above her head to indicate which chamber her shot is currently, indicated in Roman numerals from; I, II, III, IV, V, VI. When the effect is golden, it'll mean that shot she just discharged will be the respective multiplier for that chamber.
