Background info[edit]
The special A-PI Dolls were developed by Svarog Heavy Industries Energy Department. They are dedicated to deposit exploration, mining and refining of fossil fuels, covering the full production chain of petroleum. Like all of Svarog's specialized models, A-PIs are made to withstand their harsh working environments, and can use a variety of tools and modules. The petrochemical industry still thrived through the 2050s, and against the predictions of analysts, the market for A-PIs has remained stable.
Shale was an early A-PI model, purchased and employed by a large oil company partner of Svarog. The company scaled down and restructured starting in 2059, and Shale was sent back to Svarog, who transferred her to the Neural Cloud project.[1] She first made an appearance as an NPC in the Dream Patroller event.
