Cornelia Schaefer,[1] going by Nele, is a former Gray Institute of Biotechnology lab assistant. An admirer of Lady Gray, she joined the lab in order to work with her idol and find a cure to ELID. She lives in Berlin with her Doll bodyguard and friend Mia.

Nele met Stasi agent J when she broke into the Galatea labs to save her experiments after the German government closed the lab,[1] and accepted to become a Stasi informant to clear Gray's name.[2] However, Nele discovered during her investigations that Lady gray had been replaced by a body double and narrowly avoided being killed by the Nyto when she was confronted by her due to the presence of a crowd of journalists making it impossible for Gray to kill her without giving up her cover. J feared that Nele had been killed when her apartment was set on fire by Paradeus, but she had already found a place to hide by this time and revealed Gray's identity to the Stasi.[3]
