The SR-2 "Veresk" (Russian for "Heather") is a Russian submachine gun designed to fire the 9×21mm Gyurza pistol cartridge. This cartridge is also used by the SR-1 Vektor (also called the Serdyukov) handgun.[1]

The 9×21mm Gyurza pistol cartridge was designed to defeat modern body armor, similar to how FN designed the 5.7mm cartridge for the P90. The construction of the round does allow it to be used on both armored and unarmored targets, however. The bullet features a hard sub-caliber core contained within an outer sleeve, separated by a polyethylene layer. If the bullet strikes an unarmored target, it holds together to produce a wide wound channel. If the bullet strikes an armored target, the sleeve is stripped away and the core penetrates alone. The 7N29 AP loading fires a 6.7 g (103 gr) bullet at 410 m/s (1,300 ft/s) with 560 J (410 ft⋅lb) of muzzle energy, and will reportedly penetrate two 1.2 mm titanium plates, plus 30 layers of Kevlar, at 50 m (160 ft). The disadvantage of the rounds is that high impact velocities are needed for them to work effectively, so the bullets are relatively light to maximize their muzzle velocity. This means they will lose velocity relatively quickly, limiting their effective range.

Following the development of the SR-1 handgun, work on a new submachine gun chambered for the Gyurza cartridge was launched in the mid-1990s on the request of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB). The Central Scientific Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering, or TsNIITochMash, presented a suitable design in 1999. This design was accepted and given the designation "SR-2", and was nicknamed 'Veresk' by Russian forces.

The SR-2 "Veresk" differs from most submachine guns in that it uses a gas-operated action with a rotating bolt, a system of operation typically used in full-powered assault rifles. Normally, submachine guns utilize various blowback mechanisms. However, due to the high-power armor-piercing ammunition used in the 'Veresk', a sturdier locking mechanism was needed. This design is partially borrowed from the SR-3 "Vikhr" compact assault rifle. Externally, the "Veresk" is similar to the Uzi, with its 20 or 30-round magazines loaded directly into the pistol grip. There are two AK-style control levers on both sides of the receiver. with the one on the right side being the safety switch and the one on the left being the fire-mode selector. The cocking handle is on the right side and is fixed to the bolt carrier, so it moves during firing. There is a mount for a "red dot" sight on top of the receiver (unlike the AK-style side rail). The weapon has an upwards-folding metal stock.

Character Background

She's a Doll who always talks about being calm, yet she's incredibly impulsive. Fighting is her hobby and she considers ripping through enemy lines and throwing them into disarray to be the most enjoyable thing in the world. She doesn't care if she's damaged or even destroyed as long as she gets to do it.
