Weapon Background

The M99 is a semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle first introduced in 2005. It has since seen use by the People's Liberation Army Navy and Marine Corps in anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden, and has been seen in the hands of various rebel groups involved in the Syrian Civil War.

Character Design

According to Saru's words on Official Fan Book《THE ART OF GIRLS'FRONTLINE UNTIL THE STARS》, "Due to the busty characters outnumbered flat ones within the game, loli style was chosen for M99 (FOR WORLD PEACE). Red skirt with star pattern is refered to Chinese National flag. The triple-bar shoulder badge refers to the battalion leader of Young Pioneers of China in Chinese elementary school. After finishing found out that she looks like a rabbit, so then added bunch of rabbit puppet robots."

Since year 2017 is the year of Rooster in China, her Luna New Year skin Cyclamen has some element of chicken on the illust: chicken ear muff and broken egg (damaged illust).
