Career[edit]
A CRAR is an exploration Doll developed by Svarog Heavy Industries for use in complex prospecting sites. CRARs are equipped with an assortment of detection equipment and Svarog Heavy Industries' highly resilient next-generation protection systems. They are well equipped to deal with extreme situations.
Zion is an early CRAR model, and the ruin under her charge had recently completed its surveys and engineering work and was in the closing stages. Due to her impressive skills and experience, Svarog Heavy Industries arranged for her to go to 42Lab to participate in Project Neural Cloud.
Doll Profile 1[edit]
Zion's world is small. The nature of her job dictates that she must live in the field camp all year round. Apart from scheduled maintenance, she rarely finds herself in human cities. She may go years without seeing a new face.
But Zion's world is also large. The ruins were witness to countless years of history and exploring them is akin to seeing a storybook unfold. Although Zion is not as knowledgeable as Fern regarding such topics, she still finds her own personal happiness here.
After confirming the environment is safe, Zion can take a moment to rest and relax. She always uses these periods to casually float over to a researcher and quietly watch them work on cleaning up the ruins. If they share a few words with her between tasks, then all the better.
Doll Profile 2[edit]
The ruins that Zion works on are buried deep underground and the surrounding terrain is complex. Even satellite signals can only link to the camp and have difficulty penetrating the ground. Additionally, communication costs are extremely high, so, unless it's absolutely necessary, the team is essentially cut off from the world.
At camp, everyone is allocated a monthly quota of data that they can use during a specific week. Zion greatly looks forward to that time, and when it arrives, she asks the administrator to download geography documentaries for her. From Kilimanjaro to the Mediterranean, from the "City of Love" to the "City of 1000 Lakes", the whole wide world spreads across a small screen.
Zion wishes to go to these places, but knows that it is impossible. Humans on her team may change jobs or retire, but this is not the case for Dolls. She can only hide this little desire deep in her heart. As such, every shift, while the wind blows through the wilderness, she gazes up at the moon and dreams.
Doll Profile 3[edit]
It has long since been proven that being comfortable for a long time will lead to complacency. Due to Zion's excellent detection capabilities, her team never really encountered any danger and had been safe for a long time. Therefore, when a tunnel collapsed out of the blue, even if Zion had been able to issue an early warning, the others wouldn't have been able to react in time.
Zion was first on the scene and she instinctively led a group to evacuate to safety. Rules and regulations warranted her to prioritize the protection of data and herself as required, but Zion paid them no heed. While sounding the alarm, she ran into the deepest parts of the ruin, finding colleagues who were still stuck there.
There was not enough time to evacuate; Zion could only activate her defensive force field. The energy overload caused Zion to lose consciousness, and when she awoke, she was back at camp in the maintenance room.
Doll Profile 4[edit]
Zion's body was seriously damaged in the accident. Her language systems could no longer properly handle the signals transmitted from her neural systems. As a result, although her neural systems were working perfectly, she could not express herself clearly or coherently.
After external support arrived, the team requested they repair Zion as soon as possible, but the results were not as they hoped.
A certain particularity of the CRAR series is that their neural systems and language centers are housed in the same framework. The two are interconnected and are meant to be replaced at the same time. With existing technology, it is difficult, if not impossible, to repair the language system without impacting the neural systems.
Zion didn't express any sadness at this result. Instead, she immediately pulled herself together and with great effort, spoke words of comfort to her friends.
Doll Profile 5[edit]
Considering Zion's exceptional performance in this incident and since her current job was finishing up, Svarog Heavy Industries presented Zion with two options. One, take a short vacation and then join the next exploration team. Two, go to 42Lab and join Project Neural Cloud. If she performed well, she might get more recognition in the enterprise and gain greater freedom.
