Originally named K2. After Griffin was disbanded, Yoohee set her sights on becoming a dancer after she remembered how the Commander encouraged her in the past.

Initially, Yoohee found re-employment as a backup dancer for the Idol Performance Promotion Program with Helian's help. However, the good times did not last, and Yoohee's path to a dancing career was cut off after the Project was cancelled.

Just as all seemed lost for Yoohee, she chanced upon a show by the Grom Troupe, which deeply moved her. After much hard work, Yoohee won the approval of the dancer Olesya and managed to join the Grom Troupe as a stage manager while studying the art of dancing.

After all the upheavals and uncertainty that followed her departure from Griffin, Yoohee had a deep and bitter awareness of the difficulties that Dolls faced while trying to survive in Green Zones. As a senior artiste in her own right, Yoohee felt responsible for providing those Dolls who weren't skilled at fighting and were fellow travelers on the road of performance arts with a little safe haven from the hardships of the world. Thus, after much hard work from Yoohee, the mini-troupe Sparkle Squad was born under the sponsorship of the Grom Troupe.

Since her duties included being a troupe leader, main dancer, choreographer, stage manager, and many other positions, Yoohee's days were always very packed. However, this did not dampen her enthusiasm and staunch sense of duty, and she would always encourage and help the people around her. Through her efforts, her Sparkle shone brightly, thereby illuminating her little corner of the world.

Yoohee liked to spend what little free time she had watching idol performances and experiencing human life. To Yoohee, this was an indispensable part of honing her dancing craft and accumulating experience.

Yoohee believes that dancing is more than just a form of performance, but a form of expression, and she is determined to continue walking down the path of dance. She does all this so she can live up to the expectations of that encouraging voice from the past.

There were many Dolls aboard the Elmo and it was very spacious, so there were always hidden corners that few people would stumble across. Today, a clandestine conspiracy was brewing in one such hidden place...

“Miss Vepley! We've got a huge audience out there! They're waiting for you to bring them joy and happiness!"

On the side of the practice floor, Yoohee tightly clutched Vepley's hand and gazed into Vepley's shining eyes with sincerity and respect.

"I can't believe I've got the chance to meet a dancer who's as pure and passionate as you, Miss Vepley! If you joined Sparkle Squad, I'd gladly turn over my position as main dancer—no, as troupe leader to you!"
"Oh, there's a show on? Then Vepley will have to head out and make the audience smile ☆"
"That's great! I'm so glad you said yes, Miss Vepley! I'll contact the people at Grom right away and they'll handle the paperwork! I'll help talk to the Commander for you too!"
"Hm? We've got to leave the Elmo? But Vepley doesn't want to leave the Elmo. Vepley wants to make the Commander smile too ☆"
“You don't have to leave the Elmo! You just need to take part in our shows every now and then. I'm just hoping that you can officially join us!"
“But Vepley prefers to stay as a part of the Elmo. Vepley wants to be the Elmo's idol forever and ever ☆"

After hearing Vepley's reply, Yoohee froze halfway through dragging Vepley to the ops room. After realizing that her poaching attempt had failed, she changed her approach and turned to Sharkry, who was watching this little skit unfold from the side.

“Won't you reconsider, Miss Sharkry?"
“You're a senior Doll who's great at inspiring your juniors! You're just the kind of talent our troupe needs! In fact, it was at your suggestion that I decided to try non-traditional dancing and found a path that suited me. Sparkle has many juniors who can benefit from your guidance!"
“I-it's tempting, that's for sure, but no matter how many times you ask, Sharkry will have to decline. After all, Sharkry has joined the Elmo as a part of the Zucchero. Sorry about that ♥"

Yoohee's sudden change of tack caught Sharkry off guard, but after seeing the innocent and hopeful look in Yoohee's eyes, she acted thoughtful for a moment and then smiled sweetly at her.

“Still... since you're so earnest about it, I suppose I could give your troupe some remote coaching, and if time permits, I could even guest star at your shows. But as for the center position—"

Sharkry glanced at Vepley and then gave Yoohee a meaningful look. Yoohee lowered her head and thought for a moment, then suddenly jerked her head up to meet Sharkry's gaze.

"Thank you for your kind consideration, Miss Sharkry, but I will have to refuse that proposal! For the sake of Sparkle's development and future, I must convince the two of you to officially join Sparkle. Next time, I will offer more attractive terms to poach, I mean, to sincerely invite you to join us. So please wait for me!"

After the failure of Operation Poach Vepley and Sharkry CXXXII, Yoohee's voice gradually faded into the corridor, leaving Sharkry standing in place.

"Sharkry, what's with Yoohee? And why does she keep calling us Miss and senior?"

After Yoohee left Griffin in the hopes of becoming a dancer, she had a lucky encounter.
The URNC planned to invest and deploy a group of Dolls to perform in selected areas in order to boost popular morale. This initiative was known as the Idol Performance Promotion Program.
Apart from custom-manufacturing Dolls for stage shows, the URNC also planned to employ older Dolls with performance capabilities to cut down on costs.
Helian learned about this Program in its planning phase and recommended Yoohee, who wholeheartedly wanted to be a dancer, to the Program.
After that, the sole difficulty that Yoohee faced was how to gain the dancing skills required for the Program by the time it would be implemented.

Asa result, Yoohee took Helian’s advice and took up residence in the Green Zone. During the day, she busied herself with service work and at night, she took dance courses.
Initially, Yoohee chose to train herself alongside human students. Slowly, she came to realize that the problems of balance, flexibility, posture, and bearing that humans found so difficult to overcome were little more than matters of parametric adjustments for Dolls. As she finetuned her frame outputs during the course of her training, Yoohee discovered a Doll-exclusive "shortcut" for learning how to dance.

By downloading dance performances from the internet and expressing them in movement parameters, she could then convert them into a set of kinematic equations that Dolls could use. After that, she could sequence and repackage them as a completely digitized dance score. At that point, all she had to do was execute this sequence and she would be able to reproduce a dance performance through machine code.

Yoohee used her savings from work to hire a team of coders to optimize and simplify the process, producing a specialized program for executing these dance scores. With the help of this program, as long as Yoohee could observe a set of dance moves with her visual modules, she would be able to perfectly recreate them.

Thus, Yoohee "learned" to dance and became a backup dancer for the Idol Performance Promotion Program.

“You call this dancing? I feel like I'm watching a kid learning how to walk!"
Inside the Grom Troupe's practice room, Yoohee jumped as her dance instructor Ms. Olesya shouted.

After the Idol Performance Promotion Program was cancelled, Yoohee faced the prospect of being scrapped and a dark notion formed in her mind; perhaps this era had caused people to lose the ability to appreciate the beauty of dancing. Just as she began sinking into depression, a ticket to a performance by the Grom Troupe fell into her hands.

Yoohee was deeply moved after watching that show, which was hailed as "a classic" by critics. She could tell that there was a fundamental difference between how she and their performers danced, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was.

Yoohee shared her feelings with the show's lead performer, a stern middle-aged woman called Olesya. Olesya saw that there was an extraordinary passion in this petite Doll's eyes, and decided to give her a chance; if Yoohee could complete a three-month probation period, Olesya would make a special exception and take Yoohee the Doll as a protegee.

Subsequently, Yoohee was scheduled to take dance lessons with Olesya's official proteges. With her custom dance program, Yoohee was always able to quickly and flawlessly complete every single sequence Olesya showed her. The provisional protegee soon distinguished herself among Olesya's many official proteges.

At this point, there was little time left until the final assessment for the probation period, and Yoohee was fully confident that she could pass it.

One day, when Olesya was tutoring her proteges, she turned her eyes onto Yoohee and observed how she learned a dance. She then called out to Yoohee.

"The heart of dancing is the expression of oneself. You need to express the content of this dance in your own way."

Yoohee did not understand Olesya’s meaning. After seeing the confused look on Yoohee's face, Olesya demonstrated her sequence again and carefully explained it to Yoohee.

Then, it was Yoohee's turn. Yoohee used her custom dance program to perfectly reproduce Olesya's dance. From her expression to her movements, from her breathing to her rhythm, everything about it was a perfect reproduction of Olesya's moves Olesya rebuked Yoohee.

"You call this dancing? I feel like I'm watching a kid learning how to walk!"

Yoohee frantically apologized. She did not understand where she had gone wrong and bowed in sincere apology.

"Please give me another chance. I promise that this time, I'll do exactly as you demonstrated." “Get lost!" Olesya replied with a wave of her hand.

Following that incident, Yoohee fell into depression for a while.

One day, she followed the troupe as they performed at a charity concert for the deaf and dumb, and she finally noticed how their limbs were the means through which they expressed their thoughts and feelings. It was then that she realized that her previous dance moves were merely imitations of others and did not contain her own understanding and emotions.

As such, she decided to try dancing on her own for once, to express what she thought and felt through her movements. However, she realized that her recorded and digitized dance sequences were preventing her from doing so. When the dance program took over her movements, all she could do was execute the same moves as others.

But that was wrong! That wasn't how she felt! She couldn't let a mere program rule over her! Without any hesitation, Yoohee deleted all the dance sequences in her neural cloud and the dance program that she had spent all her savings to make.

After starting over from scratch, Yoohee failed to make the grade for Olesya's assessment. However, Olesya decided to give Yoohee another chance. Yoohee joined the Grom Troupe as a stage manager, and after that, she would complete her daily tasks and work hard on honing her moves.

Yoohee engraved Olesya's words from the final assessment into her heart: "Dolls excel in technique; they can easily accomplish movements that a dancer would normally take years to master. While that is 60% of a performer's repertoire, focusing on that alone ignores the other 40%, which comes from experience and immersion. For Dolls, who are not in touch with their feelings to begin with, that can be a fatal mistake.”

Dear Members of ATK,

Reading this letter feels like meeting you in person.

It's been a month since last we wrote. Are you well?
Thunder, are you still listening to those melancholic songs? Do you still sing, M950A? Have you been tearing up the roads recently, AEK-999? And TMP, have you managed to express yourself a little better?

I'm writing this letter because I've had an idea recently and I want your opinion on it.
Recently, I accompanied the Grom Troupe to CHE-02 and we made a stop at the Zucchero Café, and you won't believe who I met there. I saw Springfield, Gr G36, WA2000, and one more person you probably won't know; she was a senior from the Idol Performance Promotion Program called Sharkry. Thanks to her guidance, I think I've found a dance style that suits me better; Miss Sharkry said that emotional and flashier moves were more suitable for me.

While I was reminiscing about the past with Springfield, I learned that she was seeking out and taking care of the Dolls who had left Griffin.

To think that I once considered myself one of the senior Dolls in Griffin, and yet I've been wholly absorbed in my own matters; I haven't managed to fulfill my duties as a senior at all after coming to the Green Zone. That said, from the letters you wrote me, it seems my help wasn't exactly needed in your cases. Everyone's grown so much and I'm so happy to hear about it. Still, I'm sure there must be other Dolls in the Green Zones who've fallen on hard times.

Recently, my dance instructor Ms. Olesya said she was very impressed with the progress I've made and suggested that I try setting up a Doll-only dance troupe. It struck me that this was a good chance for me to take in Dolls who weren't good at combat and were having difficulty making a living in the Green Zones.

Perhaps we'll be able to perform together again someday~
What do you think?

Your band leader always,

Yoohee

This happened when I was returning to the Elmo.
There was a "rrrriiip" sound as a malfunctioning hatch ripped a huge hole in my protective suit.

"Well, this is a pain... This is the only suit I have on hand, and I'll need to head outside again to collect samples afterwards. Should I try patching it up myself, since Mayling's busy?"

I scratched my head in frustration. Beside me, Yoohee glanced at the tear, and then confidently patted her chest.

"It's okay, Commander! Don't worry and leave it to me. I'll help you out~"

After returning to the Elmo, I took my suit off and gave it to Yoohee. She took out the sewing kit she carried on her at all times and sat down to begin mending it. Her technique was very skilled and she struck up a conversation with me as she stitched.

“Back in Sparkle Squad, I made the stage props and our troupe's accessories myself. I even consulted Grom’s costumer and asked them to sell us any outfits they weren't planning on using anymore at a discount price. That way, I could retailor them and convert them into show outfits for Sparkle Squad."
“Were funds for the troupe that tight?”
"Oh, yes. Sparkle was virtually unknown back then and we weren't making any money at all, so we had to cut costs as much as possible~ It's not like we could keep asking Grom to support us."

As Yoohee sewed, the expression on her face looked gentler than usual.

"Plus, having my juniors wear the little trinkets I hand-made for them helped close the distance between us, and it helped me feel closer to them too..."
“Aaaaand done!"

With that, Yoohee presented me with the mended suit.
The edges of the rip were closed with neat and pretty stitchwork, and the very end of the mend was playfully embroidered with her signature.

"Just a little sniff should be okay, right..."
“No, taking a sniff is a sign of a weak neural cloud!"
“But there's nobody here to see it, so just a sniff should be fine... It's just a little teensy tiny sniff..."
"No, Yoohee, you're the leader of Sparkle, ATK's forever-leader, and you're a respectable senior in Griffin and on the Elmo, so how can you let a little bit of chili beat you...”

It was late at night when I passed by the Elmo's cafeteria and saw a petite Doll muttering to herself as she gazed in fascination at a plate of spicy wings, as though she was acting out both sides of a conversation. While it didn't seem like a good time to talk, my stomach was groaning in anguish, so I ended up calling out to her.

"Yoohee, is your troupe doing any shows recently? If you need props, I can let you have this plate of chicken wings."
"“C-Commander! This, this isn't what it looks like!"
"Well, then can I have my supper back if you're not eating it?"
"Th-these are YOURS?! Please, Commander, go ahead and have them!"

I sat down and picked up my knife and fork. Just as I was about to reward myself for a late night of hard work, I realized Yoohee was still there and still staring at the chicken wings on my plate.

"...You can have some if you want, Yoohee.”
"Tha—I mean, no, thank you, I'm fasting now, so I can't eat!"
"So why were you staring at my chicken wings?"
“I... I just wanted to smell them."
“smell them?"

After seeing the doubting look in my eyes, Yoohee slowly began to explain herself.

“As you know, dancers need to diet and watch their weight. While it's true Dolls don't gain weight from eating, I need to control my appetite to emulate my seniors in the industry! I think it's a good way of training my willpower too."
“So why not just sniff it?"
"Well, I was planning to do that, but then I realized that if I used sniffing as a substitute for eating, then it wouldn't be any different from indulging myself, would it? I might not be eating it with my mouth, but I'd be eating it in my mind; I wouldn't be able to train my willpower that way!"

"...Well, I'll be starting if you're not going to smell it."
“Please do!"

Just as I was about to fork the first chicken wing into my mouth, I noticed Yoohee had closed her eyes with a tense look on her face. With a sigh, I stopped my fork and brought the chicken wing to her face. As Yoohee inhaled the fragrance of the chicken wing with closed eyes, her nose twitched and a blissful red blush spread across her cheeks.

"It's so good~"

“Aaaaaahhhhnnnooooo! Commander, it's all your fault, you led me to temptation once again—"

Record 8

Yoohee invited me to her room one night.

She had many handmade dolls in the corner of her room and all of them were very cute. There were concert dresses of all kinds in her cabinet, and her vanity was lined with neat rows of pots and bottles. She had picked out several of them and placed them on her dresser.

“Commander, I have a small request that I was hoping you could help me with."

Yoohee's face was slightly pink. She tended to blush a little when she was excited, but this was different.

"Go ahead."

Yoohee nodded slightly.

"You see, it's very important for a dancer to manage her skin and figure, so I usually perform my own frame maintenance. This is especially true after coming to the Elmo and becoming a tactical Doll again; my frame goes through a lot more wear and tear than in the Green Zone, so I've been rather concerned about that recently..."

Indeed, it would seem the bottles she had picked out were products used to care for a Doll's synthetic skin.

As she saw the understanding dawn on my face, Yoohee continued speaking.

"Still, even a Doll can't apply the necessary lotions and ointments to places like my back, so I usually ask Mayling to help when she does frame inspections.”
"However, many Dolls have sustained damage during the battles of the past few days and Mayling is having trouble coping with them, so I felt bad about adding to her workload."

Commander, c'mere! There's something I want to do with you.

To be honest... My new stage outfit got damaged, but there's only three days until the performance. I don't want to miss this important opportunity...

I'm begging you, Commander, help me fix up my clothes. After it's done, you'll be the first one to lay eyes on me, and you can't say no to that!

Hooray, Commander will always support me! I'll do the same for you, too!
