Lewis (PNC) Profile Quotes

Career[edit]

The E-TD is a specially-made Doll from Universal Anything Services dedicated to the design and development of toys and other collectibles. Initially, the E-TD and its advanced modules were used for the reproduction of specific styles of toys in order to meet the various needs of collectors. However, the designers soon discovered that it also performed very well in novel toy manufacturing, and its products were very well received by children. As such, production and sales volumes were similarly scaled up.

Due to an unfortunate accident when she was being rolled out, Lewis' physical power output ended up being about 50% higher than other E-TDs, but this so-called defect ended up being her unique talent. Her extremely fine control over her strength ended up granting greater insight into child ergonomics, allowing her to better demonstrate her creativity and inspiration while combining them with both safety and fun in mind. As a result, Lewis received excellent market feedback and was chosen to join Project Neural Cloud.

Doll Profile 1[edit]

After taking into consideration the extremely high standards certain collectors had for Victorian and Edwardian-era aesthetics, the design team for the E-TD made the decision to furnish its database with large quantities of information on the subject. Post-rollout feedback indicated that this decision managed to fulfill the requirements of that particular clientele, but it also affected the aesthetic sense of the Dolls themselves.

Lewis can make all kinds of toys, from intricate little tin soldiers to 1/18th scale steam locomotives. She has but to observe and hold them once to faithfully reproduce their every detail. In addition, her works include a healthy dose of her personal flair; as a big fan of this retro style, she loves intricate little decorations, and often adds large amounts of ribbons and medals to the dolls she makes, to the point where it's become something akin to a personal trademark.

Doll Profile 2[edit]

There was little in the way of standards and regulations in the early toy market, and many items that would later be classified as dangerous were often mixed into them, leading to frequent cases of child injury. That was until the E-TD arrived to help alleviate the situation. Their toys, which were produced after massive amounts of data collection and analysis, were not only attractive but also incorporated soft materials on their edges to minimize any risk to children during play. The E-TDs' safety standards for children's toys remains a market benchmark.

Lewis' love for toys was often expressed in her daily work. She personally participated and supervised the production process of even ordinary toys, personally removing ripple defects and mold lines to make every single one of her creations as perfect as possible. Her exquisite workmanship, combined with the marketing blurb of "dolls designed by Dolls," made Lewis' creations very popular. In addition, endorsement from a certain hardcore collector caused the prices of her toys to surge in secondary markets, and she became the darling of people both inside and outside the industry.

Doll Profile 3[edit]

When Lewis makes toys, she doesn't just consider their design, but also who their future owner might be. For personal reasons which are difficult to disclose, Lewis often visited an orphanage where she would give the toys she made to the kids there. Even though she did not charge anything for said toys, she crafted them in accordance to her personal, highest standards, making each child a toy that was uniquely theirs.

Many collectors have lamented this practice, comparing it to casting pearls before swine. While publicly condemning her actions, they secretly repurchased them from those kids before reselling them at high prices. Upon learning about such actions, Lewis chose to seclude herself in her home for several months. As discussion about her self-imposed exile began circulating in the media, she flooded the market with large quantities of the products she had made during that time and actively disclosed the techniques which had gone into making them. This turned what had once been nigh-priceless collectors' items into ordinary toys which anyone could afford, leading to the downfall of those greedy collectors who hoarded her creations for profit.

"You can't call it charity if you're expecting something in return."

Doll Profile 4[edit]

The early days of being trapped in the cloud were not to Lewis' preferences. After awakening, she realized that the stone-cold concrete jungle around her was in no way connected to her beloved toys. While she could use operand manipulation to make up for a shortfall of materials and tools, there was no way to compensate for her missing audience. For the agents who lived in the cloud, Lewis' toys were worthless and a waste of resources, which forced her to stop creating them. After spending some time in low spirits, Lewis was surprised to find that the toys she had made to pass the time were surprisingly popular among the little agents in the Burbank Sector, and many of them looked her up to ask them about the toys' origins and the principles behind them. This reignited Lewis' passion for toy design and she soon took up her mantle again, devoting herself to crafting toys that were unique to the cloud.

However, this beautiful dream was crushed by the Entropization of Magrasea. When she saw a pair of little hands sticking out of a pile of rubble, holding one of her creations, she felt utterly powerless for the first time. Then, she took up arms, wielding sword and shield to protect the owners of the toys she had made.

"It isn't enough to just bring them happiness. What I want is to protect the smiles on those kids' faces when they hold their toys."

Doll Profile 5[edit]

After joining the Oasis, Lewis still makes toys every day. Her works are universally well-received in the Oasis, and many Dolls favor them. The most popular ones are Professor-shaped dolls, which replicates their appearance faithfully and features cute little ribbons. Such toys have become commonplace in the Oasis and are slowly being sold to other sectors.

Lewis is not particularly concerned with remuneration. The proceeds of her sales have gone toward rebuilding the sectors, and she maintains her habit of distributing free toys to juvenile agents. At Lewis' insistence, her creations are all sold at the minimum price, and if a cute-looking kid pleads with her nicely, she will give away all the toys on her without hesitation.
