Record 1
Originally codenamed WA2000, Makiatto operated by herself in the Green Zones for a long time after leaving Griffin. Afterwards, at Springfield's urging, she became a partner of the Zucchero Café. Calm, focused, and efficient - these are Makiatto's calling cards and what she expected of herself.
Her combat skills were extraordinary, but she disliked working with others and had always been a loner. She often said that she didn't need many friends, but she had never refused whenever Springfield invited her to enjoy a cup of caramel macchiato. At the insistence of everyone in Zucchero, this lone wolf who never once joined a pack finally found herself becoming a part of a new group. With the help of Zucchero's intelligence network, she finally managed to contact the Commander she'd been searching for all this time and joined up with them.
Perhaps this was an occupational disease of being a sniper, but she's used to hiding her thoughts and feelings with hard denials. Unfortunately, her stammering and her blushing face often betrayed what's in her heart. That said, she had no resistance whatsoever to fluffy little animals. Perhaps one day, someone will bring out her honesty, a feat currently reserved for 10x sugar caramel macchiatos and small animals.
"You dummy, this is a dangerous mission! Be more careful! ...I-it's not as though I'm paying special attention to your condition or anything! That's not the point! In any case, make sure you call me if you run into trouble!" As always, Makiatto's body is honest where her mouth is not.
Record 2
Where there is light, there must be darkness. Under the moonlight, a cold gun barrel emerges from the shadows, taking aim at a target 800 meters away. One shot, one kill. Very good. The gun smoke vanishes into the night, and the shadows are already empty. The silence is such that one might think there has never been anything there in the first place. Calm, efficient, and professional - that is Makiatto.
After leaving Griffin, she often walks in the shadows alone, accomplishing one unimaginably difficult mission after another. She never wastes her effort on clearing away annoying mooks during her assignments; the only thing in her sights are high-value targets. She doesn't stoop to taking pride in body counts; the true value of a work of art lies in its rarity and technical difficulty, after all.
... But the current Makiatto finds herself walking dogs, searching for cats, and holding herself in to stalk targets and take pictures of unseemly conduct. How can this haughty and aloof executor have "fallen" so far? Perhaps the only person other than herself who can comment on this is the manager of the Zucchero Café. "It's not like I'm returning her a favor... A-and it's definitely not because I'm looking for someone! This is call an equivalent exchange! It's cooperation! COOPERATION, got that?!"
Record 3
Sometimes, violin music can be heard from Makiatto's room. While she has her artistic taste, her own capabilities when it comes to art and music are a little lacking. Still, despite her slow improvement, she has kept up with her practice. Whenever someone asks about it, she blushes and says that she's just working off stress, but her somewhat clumsy music contains her unspoken emotions.
I wonder when I started doing this... Perhaps it was when that person said that I "looked outstanding" while wearing that evening dress and carrying that violin case. Ever since, I've been filled with the urge to put on a proper recital for them. It's been so many years since then, but I still can't forget the light in their eyes when they said it.
Damnit... Does that dork even know how hard I've been working at this? Maybe I should just go find them and put on a show... No, t-that would be too obvious! Also, at my current level, there's no way I can - Waaaaaaah, why am I bothered about what they think? I-I'm practicing for myself! I need to work hard and play better to match my perfect image! That's right!
Record 4
"Whaaaaat? This new special blend is fuuuulll of Sharkry's feelings~ How could it NOT be yummy? You're the first one Sharkry offered it to~ And I even added double the sugar just for you♥"
"W-who asked you to specially prepare this for me... And besides, double isn't enough, don't you think?" Makiatto frowns, but she still picks up the cup and takes a sip.
"I-it's not that bad, but it's still a little lacking compared to Centaureissi's macchiatos... N-not that Centaureissi's caramel macchiatos are perfect or anything!"
"Aw, don't you get tired of blowing hot and cold all the time? Sometimes, it would be better if you were a little more honest♥"
A short distance away, Springfield and Centaureissi watch as the two of them tease and yell at each other. Centaureissi can't help but sigh.
"Manager, wouldn't it be better to let Miss Makiatto work by herself rather than make her stay with us? From what I can tell, she seems happier when she's by herself."
"Then you're not looking closely enough, Centaureissi. Makiatto's been alone for far too long. The truth is... she also wants to be with everyone else. She's just not used to interacting with others; rather, she's not quite sure how to do it."
Springfield's gaze shifts from Centaureissi to the two girls who are a short distance away. Makiatto is pouting in annoyance, but her cup is empty, while Sharkry, who's standing beside her, has a smug smile on her face.
"In any case... let's just give her more time."
Record 5
"Dammit... Is this the end for me..."
Makiatto crouches behind the ruined wall, her thoughts racing as she looks at her right leg, which has been hit and incapacitated.
The enemy machine gun fire is far too intense. Unless she takes out their gunner ASAP, it'll chew through her cover sooner or later, at which point she'll be reduced to scrap by a hail of lead, without the enemy even needing to send men around to flank her. However, while she knows where the enemy machine gunner is, he's hidden behind cover himself, and she can't get at him. Unless... Unless her bullet can change its course and curve behind cover after being fired.
Makiatto narrows her eyes, focusing on a piece of armor plate near the machine gun. Perhaps... Could she bank her shot? But doing so would be incredibly difficult, especially in such chaotic conditions...
...Hmph! Nothing's impossible for a true professional!
Makiatto raises her gun, takes aim, and calculates the wind's direction and velocity. Then, she clenches her teeth and pulls the trigger.
"Bang!" The gunshot isn't as loud as expected, but it immediately silences the machine gun's flame-spewing volley.
Makiatto breathes a sigh of relief, preparing to deal with the leftover mooks—dammit, dammit, dammit, why did she have to run out of rounds NOW?!
"...If I'd known, I would have listened to Springfield's advice and brought more people along." In the end, fighting alone meant...
Then, she hears the sounds of the enemies wailing in pain and fear. What's going on?
Makiatto cautiously pokes her head out and sees a drone hovering mid-air. Enemies lie on the ground around it.
Then, as though sensing her thoughts, Makiatto's communicator beeps, and a familiar voice reaches her ears.
"Sorry about that, it took some doing to get the drone over there... Anyway, I hope backup came in time?"
The corners of her eyes fill with tears, but Makiatto bites her lip.
"W-who asked you to show up? I could have taken care of all this by myself!"
"Well, Springfield said you hadn't come back by the appointed time, so I got worried and came looking for you... Look at you, you're hurt. Come on, hold on to the drone and come back. I'll be waiting for you."
Makiatto is at a loss for words, while her face is scalding hot. She forcefully clears her nose and holds on tight to the handrail on the drone.
"...I-I won't forgive you if you come later next time!"
Record 6
"Hey, I've got a question for you." During a break in my work, Makiatto comes looking for me. Her eyes seem a little shifty.
"Hm? Go ahead."
"What is 12 times 12?" "144."
"Do people in Germany drive on the right or the left-hand side of the road?" "...On the right. Why are you asking all this? Are you playing Trivial Pursuit or something?"
"I'm... It's for your own good! It's to train your brain! Besides, it's not like these questions are hard for you, right?"
"While that's true..."
"Hmph! In that case, close your eyes! I'm upping the difficulty."
I sigh and do as she says. Strangely enough, Makiatto seems really excited about this. Normally, she wouldn't play such games...
"What color is my hair ribbon?" "Red."
"What do I like best?" "Caramel macchiatos with 10x sugars."
"Hmph... And who did you last have wine with on Christmas?" "Uh... You?"
"And who helped you bring those supplies back before the Collapse storm hit the day before yesterday?" "That was you."
"And who played the violin for you last night?" "Also you."
"And who do you like best?" "That would be..."
Oh, I get it. That's what she wants. I open my eyes but say nothing, watching as Makiatto's face turns bright red.
"W-who said you could open your eyes?!"
"Hmm, haven't I answered this question several times already?"
Makiatto looks away. "What the heck... I don't want to hear 'I like all of you' or anything like that..."
"Er... So what kind of answer would you like?"
"...Are you an idiot? What would be the point if I told you?! Think hard! W-when I ask you again, you're not to give me that answer!"
And with that, Makiatto stomps on my foot before storming out of the training room.
Record 7
I knock on Makiatto's door.
"Go away... I-I don't want to talk to a dork like you who can't appreciate good music!" Her muffled voice comes from behind the door, and I can see her shadow shifting through the gaps around it. I know Makiatto is pacing around inside.
"How can you say that? I never once said your music was bad, right?"
"Then why don't you tell me why you want to listen to other people play the violin when you have me around? I mean, it's not like I'm free to play for you anytime you want... But I still want an explanation for that!"
Ah, so that is why you're upset.
"That's because... It's only when I listen to others play that I realize how good you are. And of course, it's only after listening to all that music that I realized that small mis—I mean, improvisations like yours are better than just rattling the score off by rote. Speaking of which, I recorded your concert from earlier, I guess I need to listen to it again—"
"Y-you what?!" The door suddenly flies open and I nearly fall into Makiatto's arms. She grabs me without a second thought and then her face turns red.
"Oh, you finally opened up... Well, am I still a dork who doesn't appreciate good music?"
"Hmph... Don't ask other people and don't listen to any recordings! I-I'm standing right here, aren't I?!"
"So you're willing to talk to me now?"
"I-I never said that!"
Record 8
The weather in the contamination zones has been bad recently, and the Collapse storms have been more savage than ever. While the Elmo has managed to avoid them thanks to intel from B.R.I.E.F., we couldn't fully escape their effects, and we've lost comms with the outside world.
Fortunately, there are only a few people temporarily away from the MBV on missions, and Makiatto just happened to be in a nearby satellite city on a personal commission. I stopped the MBV in a safe region for the time being and updated the Elmo's coordinates. Once the signal has been restored, it'll be automatically transmitted. I just hope the storm will have passed by the time they come back...
Just as the thought passes through my mind, I feel my comms terminal vibrate. When I pick it up, I see that the coordinates have been sent. Looks like the storm is far enough away from us. My screen is flooded with multiple messages, but soon their senders are all the same person.
"Hey... where's the Elmo?"
"Why are you ignoring me? I-I'm really busy, you know! If you don't answer me now, I won't make time for you in the future!"
"...Hmph, is this some kind of a new test, 'I'll only let you on board if you can find me' or something? Don't think this is enough to stop me! Just you wait, I'll find you right away!"
"Commander... Are you planning to sneak off again without me?"
"Haaaah, I heard from a nearby underground broker that you were taking shelter from the storm. D-don't get me wrong, it wasn't like I was worried about you or anything! I'll be there right away!"
"Where did you go... Stay safe you jerk..."
"I-if anything happens to you, if you end up vanishing—I-I won't let you off the hook!"
I can't help but smile as I see Makiatto's stream of messages. Just as I'm about to reply to her, I hear a series of hurried footsteps from the corridor. Then, the ops room door opens, and Makiatto rushes in and grabs my hand. However, she seems to have realized something and rushes back out again.
So smooth and fluid are her movements that all I feel is the trembling on my hand and all I catch is a brief glimpse of the moistness in her reddened eyes.
"Commander, you jerk!" I hear Makiatto yell from outside the room.
I should go talk to her tonight.
Memories
Extra Missionem 1

Everyone in the city’s busy with work, but our target here is enjoying life and leisurely wandering around in the streets with a girl on his arm.
What’s wrong? Are you upset?
Personally, I think being able to collect a paycheck at zero risk to ourselves is a pretty good deal.

Hmph, even if some clueless clod came to look for trouble with us, I’d blow him away in one shot.

And I told you that I’d handle the driving so you could get some rest, but you said you were worried I couldn’t handle it by myself, so you wouldn’t let me. Don’t you think you’re taking me too lightly?
Haha, alright, I’m confident that entrusting my personal security to you during my stay in CHE-02 will be the right decision.

Of course, I’m not as frivolous and unreliable as Sharkry, after all. I used to run assignments like this all by myself in the past…

Still, don’t you think you’re working yourself too hard? All your client did was get you credentials to enter the city. Why do you even have to do this much stuff for him?
I mean, the pay’s good too.
It’s just a shame that I can only bring one Doll into the city with me.

…It’s all jobs and pay with you.

Although… Since we’re out here by ourselves, i-is there anything you’d like to—
No way!

What>! Is it an attack?! Get down!

…Wait a minute, is that—?
Dammit, this isn’t on the expense list the client gave me. I’m going to squeeze him for more money later. Anyway, we shouldn’t worry about so much right now; let’s go after him first.
What’s wrong, Makiatto?
…”For Couples Only”?
Wait a minute… so this restaurant’s running a promotion…
So, er, want to go in with me?

O-of course!

It’s for the sake of the mission! If we don’t go in after him, how will we…
Excuse me, sir, madam.
Oh, pardon me. We just happened to be passing by and we don’t have reservations.
Your establishment looks quite classy and I can see a few seats inside. Could you help make some arrangements for us?
Dear customer, I sincerely apologize but as the sign says, our restaurant is only serving couples today and we will not be taking single guests. I am afraid I must ask you to grace us with your patronage another day.
Single, you say?
Are the two of us not a couple?
But sir, it would seem your companion is a… Doll?

…So, so what?!

D-Do Dolls not count as customers?
Um…
Well, you have a point, Miss Doll, but like I said, the seats at our restaurant today are reserved for lovers only…

…
But we ARE lovers, aren’t we?

…Hah?
Er…
Which part of us says that we are NOT lovers?
I sincerely apologize, but…
You see, our establishment has not served a Doll and human couple before, and the city’s ordinances don’t seem to confer any legal status to such pairings…
And what makes a couple, hm? Aren’t they two people who like and love each other?
Makiatto and I love each other. Our feelings are mutual. Doesn’t that make us a couple, regardless of whether we’re humans or Dolls? Do you need the URNC to issue a certificate stating that we’re a couple?
But… I…

…
But… Miss Doll here seems…

…Well?! Is that enough?!

Or do you need us to do even more for you?!
No, no, please, that’s enough. This way, please, sir, madam…
Sorry about that. Thanks for playing along.
It’s all for the sake of the mission.

The mission?

(Sigh) The mission… So it was for the mission, I see.

Yes, everything is for the mission. Of course. That’s right. It’s all for the mission.
This way please, dear customers.

Um, thanks.
Ack! That hurt…

What are you gawking at? Since it’s for the mission, you should hop to it already!
Extra Missionem 2

What are you looking at? You seem out of it.
It’s nothing.
I just wanted to familiarize myself with the mission environment before we begin so we aren’t caught off guard in the moment.

…

While Zucchero has now been taken over by civilian Dolls, the surroundings isn’t much different from how it was before we left.

I’ve already marked all the places I can use as a sniper’s perch. If anyone actually tries to attack us, they won’t live to regret their mistake.
You’re so reliable, Makiatto. This trip’s so much easier with you around.

But of course. I’m an elite Doll of the Elmo.

Here.

Try it.
Thank you.
(Coughs) Wow, this coffee is sweet.
Do people in the satellite cities always take their coffee this sweet?

Tsk, talk about poor taste… and I even went easy on the sugar too.

Eh, forget it. Waitress, bring a black coffee for him.
That’s okay. This is fine.

Hah? Didn’t you just say it was too sweet?
Well, coffee comes in all flavors, including sweet. Plus, it would be a waste to just pour it away.
Don’t worry, I’ll finish it.

It’s just a coffee, so why are you making a big deal out of it…

Fine, but remember, I didn’t force you to drink it. If you end up saying you can’t finish it, don’t expect any sympathy from me.

What’s with you? You’ve been staring outside all this time. Is the city really so interesting?
Yup. I’ve spent a long time in the Yellow Zones, so coming to the Green Zones every now and then is quite a novel experience.

…Why do you keep staying in the Yellow Zones if you’re so interested in the Green Zones, anyway?
But I’m here with you now, aren’t I?

Oh, uh—that’s fine too.

Well, you’ve spent some time in the Green Zone for a while now, so how does it feel? Better than the Yellow Zones, right?
Well… that depends on how you look at it.
The people in the Green Zones are busy and they have hard lives, but cities are being rebuilt thanks to their hard work and they’re coming back to life. You can see it in the eyes of the people on the street; there’s hope for life in them.
It’s hard going, but their safety is assured and they’re gradually gaining more time and energy to live their own lives. So, how should I put it… Things are pretty good for them? However you want to spin it, it beats the hell out of getting a mouthful of sand in a Collapse storm.

But you chose to go live in the contamination zones in the first place. How come you’re so envious of these Green Zone people all of a sudden?
I think everyone would appreciate more comfort in their lives.

So from what you’re saying, are you telling me that you want to settle down in a Green Zone again?
I guess not.
The way I look at the Green Zones is like looking at that storefront through the display windows.
The stuff in there is laid out nicely, the products are beautiful and well-made… but they don’t belong to me. And even if I wanted them, I couldn’t pay the price that would require.
In fact, I can’t imagine myself even having them…
Perhaps someone who’s used to living in the Yellow Zones is suited to the Collapse storms there. Hey, at least there’s freedom.

Freedom…
Plus, ever since that Development Agreement was ratified, housing prices in the satellite cities have spiked.
Considering how little I make in contamination zones, even if I wanted to come back, the best I could do here would be a little shack under a bridge.

…No way I’d let you live in a shack.
Hm?

I said, as long as I’m around, I won’t let you live in a shack!
Hehe. Thank you, Makiatto.

…What are you even thanking me for, I haven’t even done anything yet.
Makiatto, let’s head back.
Waitress, bill—
Don’t, don’t you dare!

(Clears throat) I mean, wouldn’t paying the bill here be pointless?

I mean, it’s just transferring money from one pocket to another. What would be the point?
Actually, it’s not like I’m pocketing Zucchero’s profits. And besides, I don’t mind supporting local businesses.

Tsk, what a pain! I-in that case, it’s my treat!

…Why are you staring at me like that? How could I make someone who can barely afford to live in a shack under a bridge pay for his own drinks?!
Haha.
Alright, then. Thank you, boss lady! You’re so generous, boss lady!

Tsk, let’s just go…

Private Meeting Logs

Say, Commander... Do you have any preferences in terms of furniture?
I'm not trying to insinuate anything! That apartment I bought before has some furniture in it, though I did pick it myself back then.
The Elmo is due for some new furniture, too. M-maybe you could pick some out with me?
Hmph, no taking it back once you've agreed. I'll come find you when the time comes!Guide To Furniture Selection I

Oh, you’re here… Hurry and come help me pick these out, t-then!
Don’t get the wrong idea, I don’t mind that much, I just think that–
The MCV is so big, yet the furniture inside is so raggedy. I don’t know how Mayling and Helena can get by in a place like this… a-and you too, I don’t understand…Looks like I’ve made you worry. Sorry, Makiatto.

Huh? I-I wasn’t worried about you at all! I was concerned about Mayling and Helena, that’s all!
Yeah, yeah, I know. I’m still pretty sturdy, so I don’t need to be tended to.

Hmph… Enough babbling, come look at this.

What’re you so surprised for… They’re just chairs, what’s so weird about them?
There’s more variety than I could have ever imagined… You really have picked out a lot.

O-of course! What gets used the most on the Elmo every day are the chairs, after all. I’m talking about when you get back from combat and still have documents to deal with…
W-well it’s not just you! Everyone needs to sit when they’re tired!
Anyway, stop putting it off and pick one you like!
I-I’ve made sure all of these chairs will fit you well by simulating your proportions! You could even close your eyes and pick one at random! You’ve been really thorough, Makiatto. Shall I just pick a random one, then?

A-are you an idiot? You’d close your eyes just because I said so? What if you ended up with something you didn’t like?
I trust you, Makiatto. Since you went through so much effort to create such a selection for me, I would trust that every single chair here will be comfortable.

You… Seriously… Only an idiot trusts people unconditionally like this…
Alright, I’ll be an idiot, then. One that trusts Makiatto with all my heart.
I know Makiatto will take care of me, so I can close my eyes all I want. No, even if she lies to me… I don’t mind.
Because I’m still holding her hand tight, right?
...S-shut up already! Idiot! It’s just a chair, saying all of this… goodness! Makes me queasy! Just pick one already!
Alright, alright, I’ll get on with it. You’ll have to give me your thoughts on it as well, though.

I-I got it! I will, alright? Stop staring at me like that!
Guide To Furniture Selection II
Did you bring me here to pick out our kitchen utensils next?

Mm… I suppose, I just think that… these things are important if we’re to live together.
Dolls don’t care for what food there is and the same goes for the tools used to make it. It’s a real concern for humans, though.
L-like… how it’s better to use an iron pan for frying things to add some micronutrients…
N-not like I’ve ever going to cook for you! I didn’t go out of my way to learn about this either! I just happened to come across it in a few articles while I was picking out furniture!Right, you’re more used to making sweets and drinks than household dishes, Makiatto.

Hmph, looks like you’ve got some sense… but it’s not like I can’t do it at all! I-I could make an attempt occasionally, I suppose.
I have to say–it’s not good to take in too much sugar from sweets, either. I don’t have to worry myself, but you… it’s best for humans to watch their sugar intake. It’s fine, sweets can help with a bad mood. Sacrificing a little bit of personal health is worth it sometimes.

I-idiot… you don’t take care of yourself at all…
With you taking care of me, it’s alright for me to be a little lax, right?

Shut up! W-who wants to take care of you? I-I don’t care about whatever you’re going to do yourself… Just have a look at this selection first!

Here, this one’s for frying, this one’s for boiling… and this one’s multi-purpose heating… Which one do you think is best? Or should we get all of them?
You’re really thinking about getting into the kitchen to do the day-to-day cooking? Any particular reason? I thought you weren’t so interested in these things, Makiatto.

Tch… Only coffee and sweets for me? Since–

In… in a normal family… The w-wife makes that kind of food for the husband, right?
I-I want you to have that too… Three meals a day of home cooking…Oh…

What do you mean “oh”? Do you understand what I’m saying or not, you moron?
I-I’ll cook for you, understand? Not sweets or afternoon tea, t-the kind of cooking everyone has at home!
So come pick these utensils out, quickly! I-I’m going to put the order in!Of course I understand. I’ll be looking forward to your “home cooking”, Makiatto.
Guide To Furniture Selection III

Hey, stop lounging around, Commander. Look at this selection of wares I’m going to buy for the deck.
Oh, sorry, every time I come around here I want to just lie down for the rest of the day…

Hmph… I knew you’d be like this, so I went and put everything that we need on this list. You don't need to pick anything, just have a look over.
Sofas for the balcony, recliners, cushions, umbrellas… Uh, I’m not sure I understand what these are–

I know what you're going to ask. We have all of these things on the deck already, but it’s easy for them to get wet or dirty. With only one set, we don’t have a replacement for when we need to clean it.
As for the umbrella, plain white is too boring. I picked out a few different patterns to switch up the mood even when you're just lying down underneath.I see now. I didn’t think you would be so thorough, Makiatto.

Naturally. It’s not like I’m doing this for you! It’s so that everyone can be in a good mood when they’re on the deck!
I know. Thank you for thinking about everyone, Makiatto.
I do have a question, though. Why are there several sets of swimwear tacked onto the end?
Ah! T-those are different–Y-You’re supposed to pick between them!
Oh? You mean to say… You’re buying these for yourself?

What do you think? Of course it’s for me, that’s why I wanted your opinion… Why would I ask you to pick a swimsuit for someone else?
Just pick one, jeez! Which one out of those do you like the most? …Maybe something a little more sexy, or…
I’d only ever be wearing it f-for you, anyway…Yes, right away. Do you have any personal preferences among these, Makiatto? I’d like to hear your thoughts too.

W-why ask me again… I like all of those…
Really? Let’s just buy all of them, then. I’d like to see you in a few different styles, after all.

Huh? What a waste that would be! I–
That should do it. You won't do anything like cancelling the order behind my back, right?

Idiot, what are you saying… W-who would do that?
That’s settled, then. I’ll be looking forward to you in a swimsuit.
As for now–Why not come lie down with me here? The skies and clouds usually help me ease up.
If you say so… T-then I suppose I’ll be with you for a little. Just a little!
Guide To Furniture Selection IV
Finally for bedding and related items… Hm? No list this time?

No. I’ve already purchased the wares. They’re right here before you on this bedframe. Go ahead and lie down.
D-don’t go getting the wrong idea! I bought these ahead of time because I think sleep’s important!
How the mattress feels, whether or not the sheets and covers are soft, whether or not the pillow’s firmness and size are appropriate… These things are hard to approximate simply by looking at the metrics, right? So, I simply bought them.I’ll help myself, then. Thank you for your efforts.
Mm…

How is it? Should do for sleeping in, right?
It’s pretty comfy. Why don’t you try it yourself, Makiatto?

Me? I tried it earlier, I’ll be alright. Besides, it’s the middle of the day, lying down here with you…
So what? Being alone in bed isn't the same as having a companion. Come on.

I can move myself, don’t drag me, I… Woah!
(She tries to shuffle forward as I pull on her hand, tripping on my feet hanging off the bed. She loses her footing, tumbling towards the bed headfirst–)
(Well, straight into my lap to be exact. A faint aroma with a hint of coffee fills my nostrils immediately.)
Mmh…
Oh, sorry! Are you alright?

I-I’m fine, but you–stop moving so much! You idiot!!
Ok, I’ll stop.

Hm… Lying down like this, it’s… not too shabby. Not that I’m saying I’d like to lie down next to you! I’m just seeing if what we bought is comfortable or not!
Haha, I know. You’ve done a good job picking these out.

W-what?
The bedding is very comfortable, the blanket is soft, and the pillow height and bed size are just perfect–ideal for a person or two.

Hmph… A-at least you have the judgement to see that… It took me quite a while to pick these out in-store, b-but it’s no big deal…
Yeah, I understand. You put in all this effort so that I could rest well, Makiatto. Now, it’s time for you to have a good rest.
You’ll rest here with me, right?

Ah, mh…!

You seem to have a sweet tooth, Makiatto.

Oh, it's true that I enjoy sweets. I feel relaxed when I eat sweet things, and...
And...?

Well...Sweets usually have cute designs...or whatever.
About Work
Do you enjoy your work, Makiatto?

Are you referring to...my work as an assassin?
I don't like it, but I don't dislike it either. It's just a means of making money to provide more options in the future.
If I had the luxury to choose, I would be more inclined to work for you instead...because I think working for you is more meaningful, that's all! It's not because I want to stay by your side or anything, okay?About Interpersonal Relationships
I feel like you've changed quite a bit from before. It feels like you're more...mellow, nowadays?

I don't have to always be a hedgehog, do I?
And it's true that I've met some decent companions, like Springfield, Centaureissi, Sharkry...They are decent, more or less.
B-by the way! Don't tell them what I just said to you!About Movies
I've been hearing good things about the newly released movies. Wanna watch some together?

Watch movies together? Not a bad idea...Ahem, I mean, so what are we going to watch?
I'll leave the choice to you.

Oh. Oh...Let's see...This one, then...I want to watch...a romance film with you.
About Rest Days
What would you like to do if you were on a holiday, Makiatto?

Hmm...If I was alone, I'd probably take a walk somewhere, then have some coffee and snacks at a quiet cafe.
What if I was with you?

If I was with you...Wha...Wait a minute! What are you asking all of a sudden?! But if I was with you...If I...Ugh. No, I have to come up with a proper plan...
About Animals
Makiatto, do you like animals?

Animals? I would say so...As long as they are of the fluffy type.
But I'm not so good with large dogs. The kind that could just pounce on your and knock you over...I'm okay with the calmer types.
I can't deal with birds either. I was once on a mission where they kept pecking me...I'm telling you all this in private, got it? Don't tell anyone else...
