"You want to know where I got my name? Heh, it's a nickname Big Sis Klukai gave me!"
Formerly known as Gr G28, Belka obtained her current moniker after being inspired by Klukai's sharp tongue. With cheeriness and motivation written all over her face, able to dispel tense moods with her cute looks and energetic words, as well as rain hails of fire on the enemy—this was Belka, whose ambition was to become an elite Doll, just like Klukai!
After leaving Griffin, Belka accepted a reassignment but never gave up looking for the Commander and Klukai. Even though many of her attempts to meet up with Klukai fell short of the mark—even leading 404 to wrongly assume she was an enemy after stumbling into the base one time—she managed to meet up with Klukai in the end. Thanks to her outstanding combat performance and unrelenting pleas for acceptance (piteous begging), she was accepted as a new member of 404 and eventually boarded the Elmo with them.
Long years of practice made Belka a skilled social manipulator under her innocent-looking exterior. The occasional missteps she made in daily life were easily forgiven with an apologetic nod and remorseful bow. These little gestures also became more and more frequent around the important people in her life—especially the Commander. Did all these people really not see through her tricks? Perhaps they felt that Belka no longer needed to pull petty tricks like this to win their approval. Still, there's nothing wrong with showing off her cute and smart side, right?

When Griffin was restructured, Belka agonized over her future direction for a long time before ultimately deciding to leave. Rather than sit around waiting for the Commander to come back or for her big sister and 404 to make contact with her... it would be better to head out on her own, join 404, and find the Commander!
However, 404 had hidden its tracks and the Commander was deliberately keeping a low profile, which made Belka's journey of discovery a challenging one. She tried all their old methods of communication, obtained new intel from brokers, and followed traces of suspicious operations... Belka latched onto any thread that might give her a clue about Klukai or the Commander. However, her vigorous pursuit set off alarm bells within 404, and when Belka finally found their base, Klukai set out to eliminate this hidden threat. After an intense gun battle, Klukai finally realized that the eyes watching them in the darkness belonged to Belka, who was watching her from afar.
"Bweeeeeeh... Big Sis, I finally found you!" On the verge of extinction, Belka clung tightly to Klukai, her hard-won hope.
Now that she had found her sister, would the Commander be that far off?
Record 3
Although she had found Klukai, Belka had a long way to go before she could truly join 404. Working hard in battle was just part of the equation; emotional intelligence was the key to growing closer to Klukai and building relations with her teammates. Belka's excellent combat performance and her strategy of constantly chipping away made the typically strict Klukai finally relent and declare that Belka had passed her probation period for entering 404.
After boarding the Elmo, Belka worked hard to maintain her good results on the battlefield, complete with a pledge to help the Commander get rid of all the annoying things in his way! After each victory, she would always think eagerly about the Commander and her big sister praising her for her competency.
However, success on the battlefield did not translate to everything going her way in daily life. At times, Belka would blow up the microwave or wreck the fridge thermostats and generally cause various minor accidents off the battlefield due to a lack of common sense. After a few subtle reminders by the Commander, Belka realized she had to do something about it; otherwise the Commander might grow to resent her and draw away, and that was the one thing she could not allow!
"Could you teach me how to do it right, Commander?"
Hehe, this was the way she could stay with the Commander!

"What's all this weird stuff..."
"Hehe, I just knew you wouldn't understand, Mechty. This is no ordinary stone. Behold! There's a colorful eye on it!"
Belka held up a stone with a colorful eye-shaped pattern on it, turning it over in the sun and observing it with a smug smile on her face. There were many other strange little trinkets on the sill of Belka's window. Some of them had been discovered in the contamination zone by chance, others were bought from trade fairs, and others were gifts from underground brokers.
"Is that... part of an ELID's corpse?" Mechty said as she peered at the collection on the windowsill, looking utterly uninterested.
"Careful, this one's been exposed to the elements for a long time and it's fragile! Where am I going to get another bike-shaped piece of bone if this one breaks?" Belka pouted, clearly unhappy with the frown on Mechty's face.
"What's wrong with that?! If you like someone, you like everything related to them too, right?!"
"So it's because this bone is shaped like Klukai's motorbike? Er... Don't tell me there's some significance to this bullet too..."
"Of course there is. Look at the inscription on it—it dates back from before WW3! Finding one of them in such a well-preserved state is pretty much unheard of!"
As Belka enthused over her collection, she noticed Mechty's sleepy eyes.
"What, do you not find this interesting? Open your eyes and look at them!"
After seeing Mechty yawn again, Belka grabbed Mechty's hands and began stuffing pieces from her collection into them.
"Here, look at this, this, and this! Look closely! Look until you begin to appreciate their beauty!"
"Uwaaaahhh spare meeee—"

The current situation was pretty bad, even for Belka.
On one side was her terrified client, and on the other were two unfamiliar kids who had fallen on the ground—and right in front of them, an ELID horde was about to burst in. She, standing in the middle, clutched the briefcase she was supposed to deliver, with only seconds to decide: without time to run over and save them all, who would she save?
Ahhhh, what should I do? Breaking the contract would be a huge loss for 404, and Big Sis will surely be disappointed in me! B-but I can't just let those innocent kids be killed either! ELIDs aren't like normal people who'll let you off if you act pathetic and beg them for mercy! Surely there's got to be a way, right? Don't I always say that I want to be a cool and elite Doll like Big Sis? Just being able to meet training objectives isn't enough—I've got to be able to handle unexpected problems too!
Belka focused her processing power and began thinking hard. In order to protect both sides, she'd have to get the ELIDs' attention... But how could she do that?
Hm? Getting attention... isn't that my specialty?
Without thinking further, she nodded to both her client and the kids, then charged into the horde of ELIDs.
Bullets, grenades, EDC flashlight, the case—no, not the briefcase! I'll throw out everything I have that'll draw their attention! Yes, that's right, follow me, I'll make sure I take good care of you!
...
"So that's how you work? You leave your client by himself in the contamination zone?"
After accepting the briefcase from Belka, the client frowned and wiped away a splash of ELID goo from its surface.
"Well, the unexpected happened and people's lives were at stake!" Belka replied with a winning smile.
"The case has been handed over, the ELIDs have been dealt with, and I saved everyone I wanted to save. Everyone's happy!" Belka's smile grew wider as she recalled the two kids who had left after thanking her.
"E-Even so, the customer is always right! I'm going to report you for being so reckless!"
"Eh? Aw, don't be like that, we're still in the contamination zone right now, after all. If more ELIDs show up..." Belka sighed, a look of vexation on her face.
"A-Are you threatening me?" The client was still talking tough, but his eyes were beginning to wander.
"Perish the thought, dear client! As long as you don't report me and stick to the agreed-on payment, I'll waive the charges for escorting you out of the contamination zone!"

"Commander! How should I put on this new piece of gear? Could you demonstrate for me?"
"Commander, you got sauce on your chin! I'll wipe it for you!"
"Commander, I think I've got a fever, could you press your forehead against mine and check?"
I smiled and parted her bangs, pressing the back of my hand against her forehead.
"Firstly, Dolls don't get fevers. Secondly, the back of the hand is enough for checking temperatures."
Belka pouted and looked unhappy. Ever since she returned to the Elmo, she seemed to have deviated from how I remembered her in Griffin. Had she always been so clingy?
"Huh? But what if I'm nervous, or my frame is damaged? That might happen too! Plus, you're always wearing your tactical gloves, so surely getting closer to me would make the reading more accurate!"
"Then maybe it would be best to let Mayling—"
"Don't you trust your own judgment, Commander? It's okay, I believe in your skills. Maybe all you need to do is stay a liiiittle longer by my side and look! All better now!"
She grabbed my hand and I could feel the heat flowing into me through her palm. That left me in a bit of a daze. This was clearly a trap, of course, but should I just jump into it?
...Why not? Considering how hard she's worked, humoring her a little should be okay, right?
Record 7
"Is there any way to go 'bang' and make people like you all of a sudden?"
Belka sprawled herself on my desk. The question seemed to be weighing heavily on her mind.
"Who's the vic—target this time?" I was busy, so I replied without giving it much thought.
"Who do you think..." Then, before I could answer, she suddenly sat up, eyes aglow.
"Hmmm? What's this, Commander? Are~ you~ jelly?"
I shook my head, but before I could answer, Klukai showed up and dragged her off. Before the door closed, she smiled at me... There seemed to be some secret meaning behind it.
After that, Belka continued popping up around me, but she didn't plaster herself to me like before. Be it accompanying Klukai on assignments, helping Andoris optimize her processing power, or playing games with Mechty... She'd go out of her way to report to me before doing anything with anyone else, yet she took her time leaving, as though she was waiting for something. But in the end, she'd go with a frown on her face, as though what she was waiting for hadn't come.
"You don't need to keep reporting all your activities to me in future. You can just go and do them." I told her when she came to find me again.
"What the heck... Why isn't this turning out like I expected?" She looked like she was about to cry as she mouthed things like "jelly", "attention", "like" and so on.
I was at a bit of a loss for how to react. She didn't need to do this, after all. If what she wanted was attention, surely she could just tell me, right?
"You said you were going to... Eh, forget it. I just so happen to need you here. Can you stay behind to help me out?"
She froze for a moment, as though she was stunned by actually getting the response she was waiting for.
"Or if you're busy, I could always get someone else—"
"No! Nononono! Don't get anyone else! I'm the one who should be staying behind to keep you company!"

Usually, Belka would cling to me after coming back from a mission, fishing for compliments about her performance or pointing to some minor injury she'd sustained and hoping for consolation from me. However, after today's mission, I didn't see her waiting for me in the ops room. The battle had been particularly vicious due to the Collapse storm that had just hit us and I couldn't help but worry about her.
The others told me that she had gone straight to the maintenance room upon coming back, but when I went to look for her, I found nobody there. All I got from Mayling was a diagnostic report. While she hadn't taken damage to any critical systems or her core, the damage to her frame was quite extensive... If the battle had gone on any longer, or if it had been any fiercer...
"Belka, are you alright?" I asked as I knocked on her door. She didn't hurry over excitedly to open the door like she usually would, and only replied from inside the room in a flustered tone.
"I—I'm fine! Just go, Commander!"
I ignored her and pushed the door open. She was lying on the bed, and she reflexively tried to cover up her damaged body with a blanket upon seeing me.
"Why are you hiding from me?"
She began trying to spin a whole tale before finally giving up under my questioning.
"I just... I didn't want you to think that I was unreliable! I'm sure a Doll as capable as Big Sis wouldn't get damaged in a battle like the one from just now, so if I thought that if I couldn't do that... If you thought I couldn't help you out... You wouldn't praise me anymore... Are you going to scold me now? Scold me for not telling you, for not protecting myself—"
"Not at all," I interrupt.
She threw herself into my arms. "Bwaaahhh, you're the best, Commander!"
