The SR-3 Vikhr (СР-3 Вихрь, Russian for "whirlwind") is a Russian compact selective fire assault rifle developed by TsNIITochMash (Central Institute for Precision Machine Building,"Центральный научно-исследовательский институт точного машиностроения"), where SR stands for Special Development (spetsialnaya razrabotka). Built up from the AS Val, SR-3 project was aimed to improve the compactness and concealed-carry aspects of the gun. The initial SR-3 project finished in 1994s, though immediate improvements made to the gun after its adoption into service with the FSB resulted in two additional variants. SR-3MP is the latest modernized version of the SR-3 family, with changes to exterior attachments, dimensions, minor features and build material. However, there are no major differences in terms of firing performance.
Major differences from the AS Val include redesigned frontal hand guard with a foldable fore grip, and relocated frontal iron sight. In addition, the integrally suppressed barrel of the AS Val was removed entirely in the initial SR-3 model (rendering it unable to mount a suppressor at all), before finally getting replaced with a specially designed quick detachable suppressor for the SR-3M. The standard AS Val side-folding stock was replaced with a top-folding butt stock, a change that was later reverted in the SR-3M variant. The rifle features a gas-operated action with a long-stroke piston and a rotating bolt group of the same design as that of the AS Val, and is designed to fire the same 9x39mm subsonic round as the AS Val. Unlike typical SMGs, the SR-3 series also fires from a closed bolt similar to an assault rifle, which is why it's classified as a compact assault rifle in real life.
SR-3 family is primarily chambered for the SP-6 high-performance AP rounds just like its predecessor AS Val. A special 30-round magazine was developed for the SR-3M/MP to improve close-quarters effectiveness. SR-3 is able to achieve a rate of fire of 900 rounds per minute, covering an effective range of 200 metres. Like all Kalashnikov derivatives, SR-3 also features the magazine release behind the magazine well with the charging handle on the right side.
The SR-3MP model is a modernized version of the SR-3M, allowing for compatibility with both NATO standard Picatinny rails as well as Warsaw Pact rails. The design specifically features rail placements on top of the weapon for mounting optics, two shorter rails on either side of the frontal handguard for mounting other tactical accessories, and one short rail on the bottom of the pistol grip for changing the position of the AS Val folding butt-stock (used for operators wearing gas masks or other tactical equipment that would otherwise obstruct the aiming process).
SR-3 family of firearms are currently in service with the Russian special police/Federal Security Service.[1][2]
Assuming the weapon currently being held by the T-doll is drawn to size, the body height of the T-doll Vikhr estimates to be around 140cm. A relatively petite overall size is likely to represent the compactness of this weapon. This petite T-doll features long blonde hair in twin braids with bright violet eyes and many other violet pigments on her outfit.
Some aspects of Vikhr's character design resemble that of a rabbit, such as the fake rabbit ears on her hat and her stuffed rabbit in her costume Black Rabbit Macchiato. This is possibly to symbolize her agility in high-speed close-quarters combat.
When Vikhr's draft was announced in Pandegg's weibo post, many players thought she would undergo censorship for sure due to her ultra exposed outfit. To everybody's surprise, she was not censored. As of 14th of July, her artwork has indeed been censored on the Girls Frontline EN server.
Personality
With an active, outgoing and slightly overconfident personality, Vikhr quickly left a deep and favorable impression on the player base. However players quickly realized that she is actually quite a troublemaker. She regularly teases the Commander for fun and will often get the Commander into trouble afterwards. (Such as during the new year period)
Even though she's related to her much quieter sister AR AS ValAS ValAS Val, her lines show that she likes to be shrill and loud, which refers to her lack of an integrated suppressor. In combat situations she however is quieter and expresses her loudness with ridiculous hand gestures instead.
In-game
MICA Team classified her as SMG in-game probably due to the doll frame and role, since Vikhr is more suitable for high-agility close-quarters combat, similar to SMG G36CG36CG36C. However, unlike G36C, Vikhr is more specialized for offense, featuring high firepower, respectable rate of fire, powerful tile buffs, and a firepower self-buffing skill..
With the 260% damage increase from her skill, Vikhr is second-to-none among offensive type SMG units in the game. She has a significantly higher damage output and lower evasion compared to other SMG units, giving her the rare ability to obtain MVP status in an ARSMG formation. In fact her damage output is so high, she can even contest the MVP title against MG units.
It is advised to treat SR-3MP as an AR unit in game, due to her high damage output and inability to soak damage like the other SMGs.

Basic list of prerequisites: (In order of importance)
1. Accuracy of 30-40 Brought about by - (EOT 518 and 40%+ Accuracy buff) or (ITI Mars Alone)
2. Increase RoF/Damage
3. Link survivability - (Put her in off-tank positon, optionally doll with a skill that helps survivability ex. smoke, enemy acc debuff)
4. Synergy - (Make use of her tile buff and make sure you're buffing the ARs you want)
Long Guide
Unlike other offensive-type SMGs, SR-3MP is reliant on landing her shots and an overall increase in protection compared to other Offensive SMGs. SR-3MP will be doing exclusively all her damage from the shots she lands and due to this she inherently wants her links to live and for her to sustain fire. The first prerequisites that needs to be filled is that she needs to be in a position that takes less fire, this is achieved by putting her in the off-tank position rather than the main tank position. The second prerequisite is for her accuracy to reach the optimal range of 30-40, for her to be able to achieve this she wants either a EOT 518 or ITI MARs, assuming you're using an EOT 518 you want one AR that gives buff in the range of 40~55%. It's advised you use an EOT due to the nature of it buffing damage and enough accuracy, unless of course you can't achieve 30+ in which case you'd use an ITI mars. Common ARs that you'd use to buff SR-3MP's Accuracy being AR G41G41G41(50% Acc),AR AN-94AN-94AN-94(55% Acc),AR Ots-14Ots-14Ots-14(65% Acc) AR M4 SOPMOD IIM4 SOPMOD IIM4 SOPMOD II(50% Acc), and even a budget unit like AR FNCFNCFNC(50% Acc). The third prerequisite is now simply to buff her damage/RoF, this is fairly straightforward, you want her to do more damage if you want to maximize her potential, this is achieved by ARs such as AR G11G11G11, AR AK-12AK-12AK-12, AR HK416HK416HK416. The fourth and final optional prerequisite is to maximize her link life and to build a composition that has synergy with her strong tile buff. HG Welrod MkIIWelrod MkIIWelrod MkII is a strong unit that boosts the effectiveness of everyone on the team and her skill helps SR-3MP's link survivability.

Being a sister gun, SR-3M/MP issue magazine is reverse compatible with the AS Val and VSS Vintorez.
Vikhr's VA Takada Yuuki also performed as the VA of Suzukaze Aoba from New Game! The very next day after the third VA batch was announced, Pandegg made an artwork with Aoba in Vikhr's outfit. The two characters have similar body shapes and somewhat similar personality settings.
