Weapon Background
The Franchi SPAS-15 is a dual-mode 12 gauge combat shotgun manufactured by the Italian firearms company Franchi.[1]
The weapon is based on the SPAS-12, and is also capable of switching between pump-action and semi-automatic firing modes. In semi-automatic mode, a gas piston drives a bolt carrier and rotating bolt. In pump-action mode, the same components are driven by sliding the fore-end backwards. In order to reliably fire low-pressure (less-than-lethal) ammunition such as tear gas rounds or bean bags, the gun must be placed in pump-action mode. Switching between firing modes is done by pressing a button above the foregrip, and sliding the foregrip slightly forwards or backwards. The barrel is chrome-lined to improve reliability and features screw-in choke tubes for adjusting pellet spread. Unlike its predecessor, which was fed via a tube magazine located under the barrel, the SPAS-15 is fed by a detachable box magazine. The gun features either a fixed black stock or a side-folding metal stock. Both the fixed-stock and folding-stock variants feature the same pistol grip safety, which must be depressed in order for the gun to be fired.
In 1994, the United States banned the importation of the SPAS-15 as part of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban. Only around 180 units managed to be imported into the US prior to the ban, though the ban and the relevant regulations were lifted following the Assault Weapons Ban being sunset in 2004. In Canada, the SPAS-15 is classified as a 'Prohibited Weapon' and cannot be legally owned or imported except under very limited circumstances. In Italy, the SPAS-15 is a common firearm for both law enforcement and civilians.
In 2005, production of the SPAS-15 ceased so that Franchi could focus on producing sporting arms, while Beretta (which acquired the Franchi firm in 1993) would cover the security and law enforcement market.[2]
Character Background
SPAS-15 enjoys fighting on the frontlines. To her, everything brought about by fighting — be it victory or suffering — is something to revel in. If conditions allow, she'll listen to music that fits the moment when fighting a battle. She always behaves very amorously around the Commander. She says she's just joking around, but somehow that's not what it looks like at all. When around her senior SPAS-12, she is like an extremely affectionate sister. Her friend AM-17 humorously compares their relationship to that of a hamster and its owner.

Trivia
- Amongst Italian troops, the SPAS-15 is known by the nickname "La Chiave dell'Incursore" (the key of the commando), because it is used to blast the locks off of closed doors.
- The ammo increase from her skill only applies to the echelon's current clip(s), and won't apply to the next clip after reloading.
- When put into an echelon with SG SPAS-12SPAS-12SPAS-12, both the dolls will exchange emotes to each other at the start of each battle.
- Additionally, in a full MG/SG echelon with SPAS-12 and 3 other MGs, SPAS-15 can get up to 10 notes, resulting in +10% ~ +20% incoming DMG reduction. She can theoretically get up to a max of 13 notes in a team with 5 SGs (one of which being SPAS-12), but why would you run 5 SGs in the first place...?
