Trivia
- Prior to the success of StG44 on the Eastern Front, the weapon was designated as a machine pistol (SMG), 7.92 Kurz was originally designated as Pistolenpatrone M43 (Pistol Cartridge 1943) due to political reasons with the Nazi party, despite it not being a pistol calibre. After the recognition of StG44 rifle, the ammo was redesignated as Kurzpatrone 43 (Short Cartridge 1943).
