The CM-Idols are a series of performer Dolls launched by Cyber Media in a bid to expand their market share in the entertainment sector. The Dolls' core design is focused on live idol events and provides plenty of room for personal customization. Cyber Media also sells many derivative digital products at different price points. This series was an immediate hit in the entertainment sector.

As the vice-leader and lead vocalist of the new girl group "NotREAL?", Nanaka was an instant star from the moment she appeared on stage. Soon after, she released her solo album and stepped into the upper echelons of idol industry.

In 2058, the group's agent cooperated with 42Lab to send Nanaka to Project Neural Cloud in the name of social welfare.

Nanaka loves being an idol and enjoys the feeling of expressing herself on stage. She hopes to use her singing and dancing to bring happiness to her fans and become a radiant light that brightens their lives.

Therefore, she has to practice harder than anyone else off the stage. Of course, as long as one acts according to the programmed choreography and marks out the steps in advance, one can achieve a near-perfect performance. But Nanaka takes great pains to practice again and again; to match her emotions and her performance, the music and her movements. More than anything else, she wishes to present her supporters with the most perfect performance.

Many idol Dolls who worked with her were quite puzzled and even disdainful of her for this habit. They mocked her saying she was no performer, merely putting on a performance; this so-called effort was just a show to garner attention.

Nanaka had heard these malicious ramblings, but just accepted them in silence. Not because she doesn't care, but because she believes that as long as she keeps working hard, one day, her on-stage performances will silence her detractors.

Although Project Neural Cloud recruits Dolls from all walks of life, entertainment Dolls like Nanaka are a low priority compared to scientist Dolls and often go unappreciated. After all, most of the content from Project Neural Cloud will not be disclosed to the public, and, adding in all the various costs involved, popular idols are really more trouble than they're worth.

Nanaka herself explained it as fulfilling a promise she had seemingly made in jest when she first debuted—"Let's go to the space station for a concert!"

Given that the world's satellite network had been destroyed by the Collapse particle cloud, everyone was well aware that this was a promise likely to go unfulfilled, but still, Nanaka struggles to make it a reality. Even if she must endure others' doubts; even if she must go through a body remodeling and the extensive training it entails; even if she has to pay the ultimate price and all that she can bring back is a single video of her singing by herself in a space station simulated from the ground, she is still willing to fulfill that promise to her fans. In order to participate in the Svarog Heavy Industries space station simulation project, she asked her agent for help. Joining Project Neural Cloud was a way to increase her personal value.

Nanaka has no doubt that humans will one day step into space again, so there will be a time when her dream can come to fruition. This logic is not easily understood by most, but anyone that communicates with her will come to understand. She has a pure dream that she is working to realize: To be the very "best idol" for her fans.

Nanaka loves to interact with her fans. Unlike some celebrities who make a clear distinction between their on and off-hours, Nanaka will still make time to communicate with fans after work finishes. When she meets fans on the road, as long as they're not the overbearing type, Nanaka will accept their requests for group photos and autographs even at the risk of delaying the trip. Because of this, many fan groups will self-impose limitations so as to not disturb this rare phenomenon.

There is only one time when Nanaka will go out incognito.

When talking about Nanaka, the first thing that springs to mind for most people is her first single "Hello! Fantastic World", a top-of-the-line work in terms of composition, arrangement, and performance.

Within the liner notes, Nanaka's name is followed by a string of signatures, but few people are aware that the entire track was almost totally completed by Nanaka herself. In order to make her debut perfect, Nanaka contacted many established teams for advice. Although it would've been her right to take all the credit for the sweat and tears she put into the single, she was adamant that everyone's name should be included. For her, the signature was proof of one's effort—no matter what role they played, big or small, they should not be ignored.

There's something that's always in the back of Nanaka's mind. Unlike other members of the team, the body that she currently inhabits is not customized, appearing as if it just rolled off the assembly line. This is because when she debuted, her original body suddenly malfunctioned and had to be temporarily replaced. Although they originally planned to replace it for later performances, the success of that performance forced them to abandon that plan, and so Nanaka has remained in this body ever since.

Professional reasons aside, this is the hidden reason that Nanaka wants to participate in Project Neural Cloud.

"I often dream of another Nanaka. A Nanaka with the same appearance as me, standing on the stage accepting everyone's flowers and applause, but I can only curl up in the shadows unable to utter a sound. What is it that the audience comes to see? Is it that ordinary shell or that being called 'Nanaka' hidden away in its heart. I've always been so scared... therefore I can only keep everyone's eyes focused on me. I can only keep working hard."
