Record 1
Originally codenamed Gr G11, she is currently a member of H.I.D.E. 404. Apart from Leva and Lenna, who have temporarily left the squad, Mechty works with her squad leader Klukai and the newly-recruited members Andoris and Belka. Currently, Mechty is the most senior member of the squad, with the exception of Klukai, although she has shown no interest in acting like a proper senior and wants only to spend all day napping in the embrace of her bean bag sofa. That said, when push comes to shove, even the perpetually lazy Mechty can pull herself together and take the weight of responsibility on her petite frame, whether on her own initiative or by being forcibly dragged into the fray.
"Zzz... It's naptime at last... Wha...? A new mission? (Groan) Okay, I'm coming."
If something actually happens... you can probably let her handle it!
Record 2
"Alarm bells rang in Mechty's neural cloud after awakening in a repair capsule with Leva and Dier standing beside her, the latter of whom had his tools in hand.
"Why am I lying here...?"
After Leva's explanation, Mechty learned two things—
She and Klukai were attacked by armed bandits during an escort mission. While Lenna and Leva had arrived just in time to help her out, their frames had been very badly damaged. At Dier's suggestion, their frames were replaced. That was the first thing.
"W-wait, there's more?"
As she saw the worried look on Mechty's face, Leva told her that Dier had replaced the large external generator she had used before with the latest model of miniaturized power cell and fitted it with a switch so Mechty could be toggled between high and low output modes. Naturally, said switch was in Klukai's hands.
Mechty did not react in any way to that news.
After a long time, she silently laid back down in her repair capsule and pulled the hatch down after her. Then, she folded her arms in front of her chest and slowly closed her eyes.
"I must have woken up the wrong way. Surely this is all just a nightmare. I should get back to sleep... Zzzz..."
Record 3
I! Must! Resist!
That thought was echoing in my mind ever since I learned that the switch which decided my fate was in Klukai's hands.
That Klukai... Ever since she learned she could switch me from low to high power mode, she's been acting like she's found the magic bullet to solve our manpower shortage... By flipping my switch all the time and without asking me!
She did it while training, while in combat, and worst of all, whenever I was about to slack off... Uh, I mean, when I was about to perform body maintenance, she'd briefly turn it on and force me to wake up! Ahhhhh— Now I'm always dead tired after every mission! I don't even have the strength to read manga and follow my favorite shows!
"Ahhhhhh— I can't take it anymore! I'm going to make a move of my own!"
With a great shout of rebellion, I tried to rise from my bean bag sofa to prove my determination, but it was just too comfy...
Eh, forget it, I'll just lie down here... Rest time is hard to come by... I'll think about stopping Klukai's schemes some other time...
Record 4
Mechty has a text file in her personal terminal called "The Book of Grudges", containing random musings and snarky comments about all sorts of things.
A certain Doll is a frequent visitor to its pages—
"That Klukai! She's a devil! She gave me an extra hour of training! A WHOLE EXTRA HOUR! Both my soul and my body are in ruins now..."
"Ahhhhh, why did she have to drag me along to the training session review? Isn't that what the squad leader should be doing?"
"I! Want! To! Sleep! But that Klukai keeps taking me everywhere with her%#@#%... And she flips the switch the moment I look a little reluctant..."
When Mechty went to Leva with a list of Klukai's "sins", hoping to get a week of managing her own switch, Leva delivered a line-by-line rebuttal of each of Mechty's points. Smiling, she summed it up thusly:
"According to Dier's records, Klukai has been using the switch in a perfectly sensible way. Her toggling of your high output mode has been beneficial to your frame operations. After all, even the best computer will rot away if you keep it switched off."
"How, how could this be..."
Mechty collapsed onto her bean bag sofa in despair.
"Mechty, have you ever thought about what would happen if Klukai went out for a mission and didn't come back? You're the next most senior member in the squad; what would you do then? Perhaps all the demands Klukai has made of you were intended to address that situation, hm?"
Die? That Klukai? How could that even happen...
"What should I do? What can I even do? If something happened that managed to take even her out, I'd probably be taking a dirt nap myself..."
Little did Mechty know that she would face such a situation in the near future.
Record 5
(Sob) Wake up, Big Sis Klukai—what should we do? Is 404 doomed to be wiped out here? Dammit, I'm going to give those baldies the fight of their lives!"
"B-B-B-B-B-Belka! Calm down, I think... I think it'd be better not to shake Leader Klukai so ha-ha-ha-ha—"
Fear, anger, and confusion fill this place—A certain tiny room that a group of illegal Dolls are using as a workshop.
Before Mechty's eyes is Klukai, whose frame systems have been severely damaged. There is also Belka, who is beside herself in panic, and Andoris, who has just crashed while trying to process the situation.
Outside the room are several hundred Doll frames that are about to self-destruct.
Meanwhile, Leva's words echo inside Mechty's neural cloud—
"You're the next most senior member in the squad; what would you do then?"
Wait, was that day today?
Am I the only member of the original Squad 404 that's left?
...If I just lie back at a time like this... We'll truly be done for.
At this point, Mechty quickly moves into action.
"Belka, get a hold of yourself! Klukai's only gone into forced shutdown mode for the time being! Once we get out of here, fixing her will be a piece of cake!"
"R-Really? So Big Sis Klukai won't forget the records of us fighting side by side?"
"Heck no! I've lost so many frames over the years that I can confidently say damage like this doesn't warrant a frame swap."
"You, you've lost many frames over the years...?"
Right, that's Belka sorted! Next up...
Mechty hugs Andoris around her waist. Judging by how her pupils are contracting and dilating, she should come back online in three, two, one—
"—rd? Huh? Did I just crash again? I hope it wasn't for too long this time..."
"It doesn't matter. Andoris, send Leva a distress signal right now and stay in contact with her! Tell her we're going up against a hundred or more self-destruct capable Doll frames and that Klukai's been incapacitated!"
"Will do, I'm sending the distress signal now."
After ensuring that her teammates have their heads back in the game, Mechty can't help but begin thinking about their escape route.
Much as she hates to admit it, she has to agree that Klukai dragging her along to after-action reviews turned out to be useful after all. Even the most annoying and boring nagging will stick in the mind if it's repeated a hundred times; even the most difficult path ends up becoming easy when you've walked it a thousand times before.
Right now, it's as though Mechty is operating entirely on routine; she's even acting in a somewhat brisk and professional way.
There's a mix of emotions in Mechty's neural cloud as she looks at Klukai, who's resting on Belka's back.
"Alright, I admit it. Klukai did the right thing, just this once..."
She feels around Klukai's body for the switch.
"Now then, this veteran of the old 404 will help clear a path... for the rest of you... Ehh..."
—After the successful conclusion of that mission, Leva kept needling Mechty about that line which could have come straight from a shonen manga.
Record 6
After a hard day's work, I accepted Mechty's invitation to watch a movie with her.
We'd be watching a horror movie.
In order to help add to the atmosphere, we turned off the lights and drew the curtains shut so the room was filled with darkness, lit only by the ghostly blue light of the projector screen.
However—
"...Hey, isn't this stage blood TOO bright? Doesn't look like blood at all."
"Ah... yeah, I think so too, Commander. Also, the way they're trying to farm scares is way too clichéd... Like, you'd think they'd have learned not to pull off such obvious jumpscares after so many years, right..."
Maybe it's because I've been watching too many horror movies with Mechty, but I've begun to nitpick them right beside her.
"...Man, this isn't scary at all... Are you disappointed, Commander?"
"Hm? I think it's okay. It's good for relaxing, if nothing else."
"Hmm... In that case... let's spice things up a little."
"Wait, what do you—"
Before I can finish, I feel something burrow into my arms.
When I look down, I see Mechty's fluffy head pressed against my chest, lit by the reflections from the silver screen.
"Uwah! Commander, save me, I'm so scared... gyaaah... I..."
"...You're not selling this at all. Also—"
I pat Mechty's head, but the moment she looks up, I momentarily forget to breathe; there's a pale, ghoulish face with dark red tearstreaks from its eyes right in front of me."
"Uwaaahhh—Now THAT's a proper jumpscare!"
"..."
"Hahaha, how was that? Took me a long time to get this monster makeup just right, and even longer to figure out how to quickly apply it in the dark. Looks like it'll do well as a sideshow for Halloween this year..."
"...Commander?"
"(Coughs) Uh, it's a good idea, but you shouldn't do that in front of Klukai."
"Oh... Yeah, you're right, if I scare her, she'll get mad about being embarrassed in public. When that happens... I might end up becoming a real ghost myself... Wait, can Dolls become ghosts..."
After seeing that Mechty has been successfully distracted, I surreptitiously force my pounding heart to calm down.
Nope, wasn't scared, not at all.
Record 7
After I sang my praises of Mechty's armchair one day, she eagerly suggested giving me one.
"I bought them recently, so just pick the one you like best, Commander."
Mechty's room was filled with so many bean bag sofas that just taking them all in was making my eyes water.
"Why did you buy so many at once?"
"Well, I have different beanbags for different occasions. Take this one for example—"
Mechty sat down on one that was shaped like a cloud.
"I use this one when gaming because it has two fluffy pads on the sides that work as armrests."
"Hm, you have a point. That way you won't get tired while holding your joypad."
"Hehe, I know, right? And then... There's this coffin-shaped one. You can zip it up from the inside and it has great noise cancellation properties~"
"Maybe not that one..."
"Ohhhh, come try this one, Commander. I think this is the most interesting of the lot."
Mechty drags me over to a beanbag that looks like a huge sausage roll. After pushing me in there, she works her way inside until she's shoulder-to-shoulder with me.
"So... what's so special about this one?"
"Hang on, Commander..."
Mechty rummages around inside the bread beanbag and pulls out a pickle-shaped pillow and a blanket with a cheese-dip pattern on it that she pulls over the two of us.
"Change— hotdog!"
"Pffft..."
I pause for a moment, and then I can't help giggling.
"Ah, Commander, you're laughing... Alright then, though it pains me, I shall give this hotdog beanbag to you!"
"Hahaha, thank you, but there are two sausages inside this hotdog. Don't you think that's being a little too generous?"
"Well, that's only because it's you, Commander..."
Record 8
"You really like gaming, don't you, Mechty?"
It is a gently-sunlit afternoon, and I can't help but sigh as I watch Mechty gaming in the lounge.
"Well... games are fun. You can experience all sorts of things through them, and..."
Mechty turns over in her bean bag sofa and puts down her controller. Her usually drooping eyes are serious now.
"...And I managed to meet you because of games like this, Commander."
"..."
"At first, I was nothing more than a pile of cold data and programming code."
"In order to meet you, my artist designed a concept for me, my writer fleshed me out, and my voice actor imbued me with emotion..."
"In other words, I exist because of you, Commander."
"You are the one who gave meaning to my existence."
"..."
Suddenly, everything goes quiet.
I clear my throat.
"Oh hey, looks like you cleared 'The Real Adventures of the Electronic Ghost.'"
"Hoho, well done, Commander... Very observant. Yes, the FMC's final speech was so moving I couldn't help copying her..."
"Well, you did a good job. For a moment I felt like the game was real."
"That's not entirely out of the question... (yawn)..."
Mechty rubs her cheek against her arm and yawns.
The sunlight oozes through the window like honey, pouring all over her and making her look unreal and translucent.
"I mean... You're so nice, Commander. If I were a game character, I'd want to break the barriers between our worlds so I could meet you."
"I'm sure I would..."

Safe House Manual 1

Bam-bam~ Pew-pew-pew-pew—

Hmph… That’s what you get for getting in MY way…
Huh? Is that…

Thoad Mucus, Crocodeer Antlers… Geez, no Crystal Tooth?

Ehh… Guess I’ll have to keep on farming… Let’s go somewhere else and see if the drop rate is higher there.

Ohhh—! A Crystal Tooth!

Finally… Getting all the way here from the west side was worth it. Alright, now I need to—
What’cha playing? You’re so focused.

WAAAH!

Ehh… Commander?

Geez… Please don’t suddenly show up behind others like that…
Sorry. I got a little curious after seeing how engrossed you were.

Ah… You mean this?

It’s “Contamination Zone: Survival”, the newest title by Sintendo. It features a realistic recreation of the contamination zone’s ecosphere, geography, weather and all…

Ah, not to mention, the player takes on the role of a bounty hunter, left to roam the contamination zones for untold reasons. Before long, they need to build their own bases to survive in… You know what, mere words can’t do it justice. Come check out the gameplay, Commander.

This is the base I’m building right now, y’see?

Not everything’s maxed out, but I’ve got all the functionality stuff down… See this? I’ve even got a small patch of land marked down for Obshare breeding.
Let’s see. Obshare drops… “Cooking Material: Raw Meat”? This can’t be realistic, right? …And are those traps around the pen?

Yep. Obshares in-game are as annoying as they are in real life… Traps are essential to prevent them from escaping and causing mayhem all over.
Makes sense. That’s a nice base you got there; if mine got ruined by an Obshare, I probably wouldn’t be in the mood to touch the game for at least 10 days.

Exactly… You definitely know your stuff, Commander… Have you ever played this kind of game before?
Well, I simply tried to imagine if the Elmo got destroyed like that… This feels very relatable and authentic for some reason; I wonder if it’s because this game takes heavy inspiration from the real world, albeit with some liberties.

That’s what I thought as well. A lot of the mechanics are ridiculous but make sense in their own ways if you stop and think about it. It’s almost like they’re there to specifically let you do things you wouldn’t dare to do in real life…

Plus, there’s also a glossary for all the terms and lore of the world, the writing of the game is equally interesting.
I see, that does sound promising.

Right?!

Ahh… Finally! Glad to see a man of culture who can also appreciate this game…
Finally?

Well… Klukai saw me playing this before and wouldn’t stop saying stuff along the lines of “We’re already struggling to survive in the contamination zones in real life and you want to experience it again in a game as well?” Well… whatever the case, she’ll never understand the joy of playing video games.

Andoris and Belka aren’t very interested either…
I think it’s simply a case where everyone takes a liking to different things. Mechty, you probably don’t share Klukai’s hobby either, do you?

Absolutely not… Riding on her bike is like riding a roller coaster that will shake all the screws in my body loose every single time…
Haha, that’s an apt description.

By the way… If you’re also interested in this game… would you like to try the co-op mode, Commander?
Co-op mode?

Yep. I already 100%’d the singleplayer mode, but there are some achievements unique to the co-op mode that I want to get. Plus, there are many super fun-looking missions that I want to try out.
Sure, let’s play together.

YEAH! Let’s—

…An emergency mission NOW…? That’s so evil…
I’ve also got some things to deal with on my end.
As for the game, let’s find another day, okay?

(Sigh) …Fine, guess it has to be that way…
Safe House Manual 2

Commander… Please open the door…

Yo, Commander.
What’s this?

A bean bag sofa. Excuse me, Commander…

Hmm… Let’s see… Alright, here will do…
I see that you’re fully equipped.

Hehe… Gotta nail the vibe, you know?

A time when we’re both free is hard to come by. Of course I want to make sure you get the best gaming experience.

Mmph~

Ahh. This soft, comfy feel… I’d fall asleep if not for the fact we’re here to play games today…

Come here, Commander.

How’s it feel? Super cozy, huh?
Not bad at all.
Just right for a nap… for when work… is over…

Ahhh. Stay awake, Commander!
Whew. I almost fell asleep.
This bean bag sofa is nice indeed…

Right~?

Alright! Time to get back to business, Commander!
You’re always so passionate when it comes to video games, Mechty.

Of course I am. Not to mention… we’re playing it together this time!

I want to experience all the “Woooah—“ and “What?!” with you, Commander.
Alright then, let’s begin our adventure.

Uwah… The left side! It went to the left, Commander.
I’ll watch the left side, you can just keep reloading. I’ll lure it to point A, there’s no cover there so it’ll be easier to hit.

Gotcha. Oh, I set up a trap over at point A earlier. You can make use of that, Commander. It should buy us some time.
Okay, I found it. Hold on…
Caught it!

Nice~!

I just finished reloading. Aiming now…
You can pull the trigger. I’m out of the way.

Yay. We’ve defeated the regional boss! Good job, Commander~!

Should I say, “As expected of the Commander”? You’re learning so fast even though it’s your first time playing…

That teamwork was SO good… You’re superb at cooperating with others, Commander. So much better than everyone I’ve met.
Have you played with others before?

In other games, yes. But they’re all randos that I got matched with.

Usually, we’ll get to play one game or two together before the squad gets disbanded. Either that or we simply don’t get along. There are rare cases that we do, but they don’t have enough time or progression in the game to continue playing… Some may say we’ll play “next time” but then there’ll never be a “next time”…

Oh, speaking of that. When you told me, “Let’s find another day”, I thought…
You thought there won’t be “another day” either?

Yeah—But just for a bit; a TINY bit.

I originally planned to spend the day playing games or reading manga on my own… But upon receiving your invite, I thought to myself, “Oh, so you’re being serious.” This is what sets you apart from the others, Commander.
I see.

Besides… Playing games with someone else is pretty nice… No, I should clarify, it’s playing games with you, Commander. I guess that’s the joy of sharing.
I think it’s great. It’s not every day that I get to see you all lively like this.
Not to mention, the game you recommended is very fun.

If you find it fun… that means we kind of share the same tastes?

Alright, looks like I’ve found a kindred spirit… By that I mean, if I find something fun in the future, I’ll share it with you, Commander.
Of course, any time you wish.
Safe House Manual 3
Huh, “Two Piece” is actually pretty good.
Eh? It’s this time already…?

Are you there, Commander?
K-Klukai?
What’s the matter, Klukai?

I’m looking for Mechty. Have you seen her?
Have I?
Hmm… I came back to my room right after work… I don’t recall ever seeing her… What’s going on?

Damn it. She must be hiding… Anyway, I’ll go look elsewhere.

By the way… you should get some rest soon. The dark circles under your eyes are really obvious.
Ugh…
…Me, dark circles?
Wait, what’s that?

Uwahhhhhhh—Ouch!

Owie, owie… Ah, it’s you, Commander. Welcome back…
Ugh, I’ve been back for three hours already—Hold on… Mechty, what were you doing in my closet?

Uhh… Catching some Z’s?
Why in MY closet?

…Why not?
What do you mean why not… How long have you been here? Klukai’s looking for you.

Uwah… she hasn’t given up looking for me…?

So scary… Looks like hiding in the Commander’s room was the right choice…
So you’re hiding from her?

No… not exactly.

We just finished a task today, you know. So I thought I’d take a nice, uninterrupted nap…

BUT… my dorm is undergoing renovation and the lounge is also packed… I thought about borrowing Klukai’s dorm for a snooze but she had me lined up for all sorts of training the moment she saw me…

(Sigh) When will she realized that Dolls need rest too!
And so you chose my room to hide in instead?

Not like I had a choice… Andoris isn’t around and Belka would surely snitch on me… After careful consideration, your room was simply the best choice, Commander.

While Klukai does drop by here, she’s always too embarrassed to do anything…

Hehe. Just as they say, “With high risk comes high rewards”~

I know… sneaking into your room without your permission isn’t cool…

But… you won’t tell Klukai that, right Commander?
Oh, so you KNOW it’s not cool to do that.

I’m self-aware enough to know at least that. Besides… I also know that the Commander will certainly keep this a secret, right?

We’re comrade-connoisseurs of games, manga, and movies, right? There IS some goodwill between us, right…?
Comrade-connoisseurs… I guess you’re right. Sure, I won’t tell anyone.
Whenever you feel stressed, you can come and hide in my room at any time. Just remember to send me a message beforehand

Eh? Really? I’ll totes be doing that if you say so, y’know…
Yeah, really. Having to deal with a whole bunch of tedious stuff is very taxing on the mind. There’s nothing wrong in indulging in a little escapism.
Likewise, pushing yourself too much can also backfire.

That’s so true… there’s nothing wrong with a little escapism!
…You sure do know how to jump to conclusions.
But I know for a fact that you won’t be running away forever, right? You just don’t like being constantly on edge.

Woah. Feels like you believe in me more than I believe in myself, Commander…

Heh… But what happens if… I’m simply too lazy to deal with my problems, and will procrastinate until the very last moment where I have no choice but to face the consequences… What then?
We’ll see when that actually happens.
No matter what, I will believe in you.

…I still have no idea where this mysterious confidence of yours comes from…

But no matter what, that means you don’t hate it when I act like this… right?
Of course not.
You have all the right to feel upset and want to escape. I’m merely providing you with a safe haven where you can feel at ease.

What’s this… it feels like… finding a safe room in a horror game full of monsters…
Full of monsters…? The situation in the Elmo can’t be that bad, right?

Whatever! You’ll catch me slacking in here all the time if you keep being this lenient towards me…

And if Klukai finds out one day, you’ll be my accomplice… I’ll definitely use you as the scapegoat, you know?
Just leave it to me.
Safe House Manual 4

Ah. Here you are, Commander.

Perfect timing! I just picked up a physical copy of a currently trending manga. Let’s read it together!
And what’s that trending manga?

Hehe… It’s called—

Ba-bam— “Delicious in Contamination Zone”!
Delicious in… Contamination Zone? But everything is too irradiated to eat here.

See, that’s what makes this manga so interesting!

The protagonist has mastered a secret technique to get rid of the radiation in her ingredients, allowing her to turn various ELIDs into delicious dishes.

However, there’s a twist: that very technique is involved with some sort of conspiracy… Hehe, the plot is not as straightforward as it may seem.
Sounds like an enticing story.

Then let’s read it together!

C-Co… Commander…?

Commander… Were you having some kind of nightmare? You’re sweating a lot.
Did I… fall asleep?

Yeah, you did… We read for about 10 minutes before your head started drooping, and then you just fell asleep.

You could’ve told me that you were tired…
Uhh, I’m sorry…

Why apologize…?
I said we’d read the manga together, but I ended up falling asleep…

Oh that… It’s fine, no biggie. You can take a nap whenever you want, Commander.

We can read the manga together any other time, same goes for video games… I just took a nap too.
I see. As long as you weren’t bored by it.

Sleeping isn’t boring.

Plus… sleeping next to you feels very reassuring, Commander.

Uh. Actually, doing anything in your presence feels very reassuring…

I can read manga and play games all day, grumble and rant all I want, even doing nothing feels very soothing and relaxing…
Just like when you find a safe room in horror games?

Yep. 10 points for the Commander~

But… It’s too comforting that it kind of wraps around into being scary again…
Scary? Why’s that?

It’s like when manga characters jinx themselves… Say, if someone goes, “I’ve finally found a place to call home”, that place will definitely get obliterated by the enemy in the very next chapter… Then the protagonist has no choice but to tread on the path of revenge…
Stop right there, Mechty. You’re going a bit too far.
The Elmo won’t blow up… probably.

Oh, it’s all good even if it blows up.
Hah?

As long as you’re still around, Commander.

I’ve thought about it; without you, Commander, the Elmo’s just another unremarkable place with nothing special about it.

It’s your presence… or rather, the fact that you WILL come back, that this place has become my “safe room”…

Knowing that the Commander will remain supportive of me no matter what happens gives me a sense of comfort.
Thank you for putting your trust in me, but… let’s not expect the Elmo to blow up any time soon.
Otherwise, where else would you store all those manga and games of yours?

404’s secret stash.
…

Pfft, just kidding…

I might not be of much use nor super dependable… But, whether it’s you, Commander, or something that you hold dearly, I’ll do everything I can to protect it.

Like… the Elmo. After all… It’s the Commander’s home. Not to mention I’ll be buying lots and lots of manga and games and stash them all over the Elmo to share them with you.
Well then, I’m counting on you.

Just leave it to me.
Future at Hand
Private Meeting Logs

Commander, I'm in some real trouble...
Klukai, she's gone mad! She's not letting me play video games before I set in stone my plans for the future, or something like that...
You have to save me, Commander!
Oh, phew! I don't have to worry anymore!Anticipated Future I

Commander, over here! We can’t let Klukai find out!
What is it? I’ve never seen you this anxious before, Mechty… What happened?

It’s all because Klukai suddenly brought up future plans, or whatever…
Commander, do you have any plans for the future?I wouldn’t know how to answer that question on the spot… How far in the future are we talking?

Tomorrow? The day after? I don’t know either way. She didn’t specify anything.
The future’s not something you can see and touch. Who knows what’ll happen then…Yeah, hard to see what the future holds, especially in our business. Never know which one will come first, danger or tomorrow…
I think Klukai has some other reason for asking that question beyond just asking about the future.
Some other reason? Hm… I only saw how upset she was…
She can’t possibly be looking for a reason to get me in trouble and stop me from playing video games, right? No. She almost certainly has some thoughts about your video gaming, but she isn’t the type to just take her emotions out on someone like that…
I think what she really means to ask is what you might do if you stopped being a T-Doll.
Seriously… is that really all there was to it? That’s simple, I already know.
Oh? Now I’m a little curious… What are your plans, Mechty?

I plan to do nothing! If I can mooch… no, stay with you, Commander, then everything will be fine.
That’s my dream! A life I could only imagine living!
If that’s what she wanted to know about, why didn't she just ask? What’s the point in being all roundabout…I think… You’ll probably get a beating if you gave her that answer.

She can't be that unreasonable… If she wants to ask about the future, I’ll just tell her what I really want for my future.
I’m pretty sure she’s asking about this because of something spur of the moment anyway.
Maybe she’ll forget about it after a few missions and then I can sneakily get my console that she confiscated back.
Hehe, then we can play video games again.I don’t think it’ll go that smoothly… but I’ll be cheering for you.
Anticipated Future II

(Sob) Commander, Klukai’s being mean to me…
I told her about how I want to do nothing and have you take care of me, and she gave me a talking-to. I didn’t get my console back either…
You have to do something about this, Commander! She just won’t listen to reason!Sorry, but I’m with Klukai here… I respect everyone’s decisions, but I think it’s quite natural that Klukai would’ve gotten angry about this.

Oh, don’t tell me you’re like this too, Commander… Man, what am I meant to say to fudge my way through…
How about you really think about what you want to do in the future, Mechty?

Hm… I can’t think of anything I can do other than lounge around…
Maybe I could do boosting for games? I’m decent at video games, maybe that's a direction I could take?
But that sounds like a pain… I like to only play games once. The same thing gets boring the second or third time around.
I feel like I’d rather keep gaming as a hobby. If it gets turned into work, I think I’d get tired of it pretty quickly.
You think so too, right Commander?Yeah, I agree with both of those points. Have you thought about being a streamer or something, Mechty?

Hm… I feel like that’s saturated already, and it wouldn’t fit well with my current “character” if I tried really hard to go for it…
Is it really alright to talk about yourself that way?

I’m only being honest! I wouldn't know how to interact with chat or whatever. Not a clue how to run a bit or gimmick either.
For the above reasons, I don’t think streaming suits me.Then do you have anything else you're good at or are interested in?

Hm, I suppose I have a few understandings on sleeping and eating things.
If there are snacks or desserts to try out, I could come along. I wouldn’t know how to put my thoughts into words, but I could tell you whether it was good or bad.
But I feel like just about anyone could manage that, right? That’s true. You’d be out of a job pretty soon like that, Mechty…

So by method of elimination, I’ll have to stay at 404 my entire life?
So you’re telling me I have to make Klukai happy to stay employed?
I’m outta here, Commander! I need to work hard for the sake of my future!Oh, uh, good luck...
Anticipated Future III

Klukai’s such a bully! Miser! Pain in the ass!
What’s happened between you two now?

I went to talk to Klukai, telling her that I want to be in 404 with her forever…
She was surprised at first, then happy for a bit. Then I told her I came to this conclusion by method of elimination and her face went all grim.
She’s even using it as a reason to punish me, assigning me extra sets of training…
Gah, I’m so tired I can’t even raise my arms to play video games! That must’ve been rough… Well, you dodged plenty of training sessions before, right? I think she’s just used the opportunity to have to catch up on what you've missed.

That’s why she’s a bully! Always watching over me, never giving me a chance to run away!
(Sigh) Look at what I have to deal with, Commander. Won’t you comfort me a little? That I can do. How do you want me to do it, though?

Hehehe, I've known what I wanted for ages.

Alright, I’m done charging. I think I can go back to work now.
Hm… Actually, what do you think I should do, Commander?
I really did try to think about the future, but I genuinely have no idea what to do.
The future’s just too blurry and faraway for me…If that’s the case, I think it’s better to take things slow. Rather than looking far into the future, we should do what we can now.
Say, Mechty, do you have any plans for tomorrow?
Nothing special. Train, then play video games, wait for Klukai to assign something.
That’s my daily life. I like it, honestly. Then just tell Klukai that you want to continue your regular life, that before you find something you just want to be yourself. That’s an answer, isn’t it?

Yeah, I think that makes sense.
I don’t want to go out on missions at all. I wish I could just stay on the Elmo and do nothing foreverEh?

Thanks, Commander! I’m going to tell Klukai my thoughts!
Oh no… I've got a bad feeling about this…
Anticipated Future IV

(Sob) Why’s Klukai so hard to make happy…
I told her the conclusions I came to after I spoke to you and she gave me another sermon.
She was going to praise me for being so thoughtful since I brought a cake with me, but she got angry the moment she heard what my goals were.Hahaha, more or less what I expected… What about that cake you brought her, then?

...I ate one of the pieces while I was lying on Andoris’ legs and bawled my eyes out. I wanted her to comfort me.
But there’s a piece left here that I haven’t touched. I brought it here for you, Commander.
You were my counselor for so long, Commander. I feel like I should pay you back somehow.
Open your mouth, Commander. Ah~Huh? You’re going to feed me, Mechty? Is the sun coming up from the West?

Look, even I want to cuddle up to you occasionally, Commander. Ok, open your mouth~
Since I’m usually the one feeding you, it’s a bit odd to have the roles reversed…
But if I know you at all, that wasn't just something you did out of the goodness of your heart, right?
Hehe, you noticed, Commander. The cake you just ate was the advance payment~
I said it before, didn’t I? The thing I want most is to stay with you, Commander.
You see, I don't really have any notable traits. I don’t have any real skills either, outside of doing my job as a T-Doll.
If I was to leave this job, there’s a chance that no one would want me.
Klukai did say that the future wasn't going to be all smooth sailing, but I want to believe in you, Commander. I want to believe that you can deal with whatever’s waiting for us.
So… I want you to promise something to me, Commander.A promise? What exactly?

That you’ll always stay with me, Commander! I want you to never leave me, no matter what happens or what difficulties we run into.
If that’s what you want… I promise you I will, Mechty.

Hehehe, thank goodness! That makes me feel better~
Of course, if you could guarantee that I could play the newest video games and eat the best snacks, that’d be nice....Isn’t that no different from what you wanted initially?

Ehehe, that’s kinda true.
I don’t think you have to put yourself down like this though, Mechty. Klukai’s very stern. She’ll ask you these questions over and over again, because she has high expectations for you.

Expectations, me?
It’s true that you give everyone the impression of being all slovenly and lackadaisical. However, I don't seem to recall you ever messing up a mission assigned to you–Even if the circumstances of completion are extreme at times.
So Klukai just wants you to improve, right? She might be all draconian, but she’s still in the same squad as you no matter how much she groans.
...
Mechty, were you getting embarrassed?

N-No way! I just wasn’t expecting Klukai to actually see things that way. What about you, Commander?
Actually, I envy you, Mechty.

Envy? What do I have to be envious of?
I think the way you stay true to your way of life is impressive, Mechty. Not compromising to the circumstances has a certain attractiveness, I think.

Woah there… Are you trying to stop me from getting a proper night of sleep, saying something as potent as that without any warning?
E-even if you turn on the charm, Commander, I’m not putting in any more effort! Maybe I’ll try an extra 5 minutes per day!...Maybe I should get Klukai to send you off to a training camp after all.
