Weapon Background
The Heckler & Koch SL8 is a semi-automatic rifle manufactured by Heckler & Koch. It is the civilian version of the Heckler & Koch G36.
The rifle fires the .223 Remington or 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge and feeds from a 10-, 20- or 30-round detachable magazine (depending on the variant of the rifle). Unlike earlier types of HK rifles, it is not a roller lock bolt but rather a lug-type rotating bolt system as seen on the AR-18.
The HK SL8 series entered the civilian market in 1998 and is still in production. It shares much commonality with the G36 and is a favourite sporting rifle around the world with some owners going to the extremes of modifying the base sport rifle to look like the G36. The SL8 was originally developed for use by German reservists as a comparable unit to the G36 as used by the German Army.
Taking the base G36 assault rifle model, Heckler & Koch modified the stock and grip with a fixed stock with integrated grip for the civilian market. The carrying handle and integrated optics are also removed in the civilian version though after-market sources are available that sell these as an add-on. Beyond that, the commercial SL8 (at least for sale in America) is also modified to not accept high-capacity magazines like that as found on the G36 assault rifle. Conversions by SL8 owners of this limitation is possible, however, though at the risk of violating the 1968 Gun Control Act.
Character Design
SL8's appearance is that of a tall boyish 15 years old girl with a cup size of D-E. She is really talented at playing with Rubik's cubes and is confident and straightforward. However she also often break stuffs due to her curiosity.
Her silver hair was decided from the beginning since all the G36 variants are either blonde or silver haired. The gun's silver body reminds Imoko of a shark somehow so she decided to incorporate lots of sawteeth into it. The most distinctive feature of the gun is its stock with a round hole in it and it inspired her to add circles and rings into the design.
While she does look a little wild and savage, in reality she's not disobedient neither is she a naughty girl. Rather, she's the bold yet sensitive type, and when she gets serious she won't lose out to her big sis AR G36G36G36 although that doesn't include making miracles nor breaking stuffs.
Her sporty appearance is influenced by the gun itself being a sporting rifle. The earpiece that she wears is a one-sided type and she wears an elbow guard and only one glove and that is on her left hand. There are reflective strips on the bottom of her pants. A shoulder pad is also stitched to her cape showing the Roman numeral VIII (8) similar to how AR G36G36G36 has the Roman numeral III (3) and VI (6) on her skirt (however the correct Roman numeral for 36 is XXXVI but this is a design choice). Her logo is that of a shark mouth with four teeth showing because she's the 4th G36 variant that was introduced to the game (not counting AR XM8XM8XM8 as the gun itself only shares the same internals with G36 but with a completely different external appearance and material).
Character Background
Very self-confident and rarely concerns herself with the past and the present. Her gaze is always set on the future. She wants to set trends and believes trendsetters will decide the future. She hates the old and likes the new. She enjoys playing with Rubik's Cubes and will play with them until she's gotten every last combination out of them.
