The current standard service rifle for the Armed Forces of Republic of Korea, various political and economical factors at the time made South Korea invest and develop their own servicing firearm instead of using the Colt M16 rifles. K2 was developed between 1972 to 1983 by the South Korean Agency for Defense Development, entered serial production in 1984, fielded in 1986 and made it's first public appearance on the 1987 Armed Forces Day Parade.
K2 is a selective fire rifle that is visually similar to the Armalite AR-18. K2 is chambered for 5.56mm calibre munition such as 5.56x45mm NATO and .223 Remington. Operation of the K2 relies on long-stroke gas piston with rotating bolt, which was derived from the AKM. Fed with STANAG magazines, K2 is able to achieve a rate of fire of 750 rounds per minute. Default iron sights can provide 600 metres of effective firing range. Other than automatic and semi-automatic firing, K2 also features a 3-round burst fire mode.
At the army's request, K2's stock can be folded to the right side, K2 have a 465mm long barrel while the gun itself measures 980mm with the stock unfolded. The stock is made of polymer material, just like the pistol grip and forearm arm guard. When issued with bipods and 4× magnification scopes, K2 can also function as a DMR.
K2 rifle was only modernized in recent years to add combat accessory compatibility with the modernized warfare equipments. With the introduction of PVS-4K rail system, K2A variant can mount Picatinny rail compatible accessories on top of the gun, both side and bottom of the barrel. Grenadier units of the ROK Army also have access to DPI K201 40mm grenade launcher, which was designed and patterned after the American M203.
Other than the K2A, a carbine variant known as K2C is also developed for both domestic law enforcement usage and export purposes.

Design
K2's costume Far East Princess is likely a reference to a song of the same name from the artist Nauts, Far East Princess is featured in the Korean rhyme game DJMax: Respect, K2 was a main character in the collaboration event with DJMax.
Personality
Her line about spicy wings is a reference to the D&D nine alignment meme currently popular in China (her line being neutral evil).
In-Game
K2 features an unique toggled based ability
The burst fire mode of K2 meant she shoots three bullets each deals up to 52% of her actual damage at the beginning of the combat session, this means her damage output at the beginning of the round is much higher than the other AR T-dolls, however she does lose accuracy and damage after obtaining 15 stacks of heat (1 burst gains one heat stack), up to 20 stacks maximum.
Toggling the ability will make K2 fire in single shots, her damage is returned to normal but her evasion and movement speed is reduced. Additional effects includes reducing the heat stack by 1 per shot and dealing additional damage when shooting the same enemy.
Story Involvement
K2 is one of the five T-dolls who represented Girls Frontline during the DJMax: Respect collaboration event: Glory Day, as a main character, she had interaction with the event.
