Weapon Background

The JS 9 mm (Chinese: JS 9 mm冲锋枪; pinyin: JS 9 mm Chōngfēng Qiāng; literally: "JS 9 mm Assault Gun"), also known as the CS/LS2 is a commercial export version of the QCW-05 (with the exception of different chambering.) It is a suppressed submachine gun developed by the Jianshe Industries (Group) Corporation of Chongqing. The JS 9 mm is capable of using any 9×19mm round, including the popular 9×19mm Parabellum round but has specifically been chambered for the indigenous, armour-piercing 9×19mm DAP92-9 round.

Trivia

• Despite the artist getting the fact JS 9 uses MP5 magazines, and even getting the different magazine catch right. It is missing a charging handle, and has cut outs for a charging handle on both sides, which is also incorrect. The artist may have accidentally used different prototype/production stages as references, which does indeed have cut outs on both sides. That would also explain why it is missing two screws forward of the pistol grip.
  • It is not actually MP5 magazines, but rather something compatible and interchangeable with them, they have a distinct look in comparison.
  • JS 9 in-game is the second prototype, CS/LS2 is the name of the final production model.
