• The KS-23 is the shotgun with the largest bore size,but curiously it may not be the most powerful one. A 23mm buckshot is roughly equal to a 3.5inch 12gauge 00 buckshot. Apparently the designer chose such a big bore size due to the large variety of non-lethal rounds It can fire, not for maximum firepower.
• Another prototype of KS-23, KS-23K uses bullpup mechanism and later used by Russian MVD. Instead using tubular magazine that could only held 3 shells, KS-23K used detachable box magazine that held up to 7 shells while uses a same ammunition as the earlier version does.
