The A-545, also known by its GRAU designation of '6P67', is a Russian-designed select-fire assault rifle chambered for the 5.45x39mm intermediate cartridge. The A-545 is a successor variant of the AEK-971 line of rifles, and features numerous internal and external improvements over earlier AEK-971 models.[1]

The original AEK-971 was developed to participate in a rifle competition announced by the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. This rifle competition, known as Project Abakan, would span from 1980 through 1994 and see the AEK-971 design pitted up against numerous other designs submitted by the various weapons design bureaus. Over the course of the trials, the AEK-971 would see several design changes aimed at making the rifle simpler to produce, as the Ministry of Defense deemed certain elements of the design unnecessary. Eventually, a rifle design by Gennadiy Nikonov would emerge as the winner of the Project Abakan trials and become the AN-94. Despite the AEK-971 losing out to the AN-94 for an initial production contract, the Russian Army would begin field trials of the AEK rifle shortly after the AN-94's adoption. The AEK-971 was found to be approximately 0.5 kg (1.1 lb) lighter than the AN-94, and was much simpler in design and cheaper to manufacture. The AN-94 was found to have a slight accuracy edge over the AEK-971 rifle when firing in its 2-round-burst mode. In fully-automatic fire or during longer bursts (3–10 rounds per burst), the AEK-971 was found to be the more accurate design. Testing of the AEK design would continue well into the 21st century.

The AEK-971 and its derivatives are based on previous AK rifles in internal design and layout, but feature a Balanced Automatics Recoil System (BARS) that enhances the traditional Kalashnikov long-stroke gas piston operating system by reducing the negative effects of recoil. BARS works by shifting mass toward the muzzle of the rifle as the bolt and bolt carrier recoil rearward by way of a counter-weight that negates the impulse of the gas piston and bolt carrier, resulting in more controllable automatic fire. For the AEK-971, automatic firing accuracy improved by an estimated 15-20% when compared to the AK-74M.

On 23 December 2014, the Russian Army announced that a successor variant of the AEK-971 line, designated as the KORD 6P67 (official GRAU designation 6P67), along with their main rival the AK-12, had passed state Ratnik trials and would be accepted into service with operational units for evaluation. Both systems were recommended for initial batch production and issue for trials in the field. It was speculated at the time that both rifles could be adopted by Russian military and other agencies, with the AEK series being oriented towards Special Operations Forces (Spetsnaz) and the AK-12 being geared towards infantry units. In March 2017, it was revealed that the KORD 6P67 would be accepted into Russian service after testing was completed along with the AK-12. As predicted, the AEK rifle was to be issued to border patrol regiments, special forces, and the national guard due to its more complicated and expensive design, while the AK-12 would arm regular infantry forces.

The A-545 features a number of changes from the original AEK design. These changes include updated iron sights that consist of a rotary rear drum aperture and a hooded front post creating a significantly longer sight line, ambidextrous fire mode selectors/safety levers, a 2-round burst feature similar to the AN-94 rifle, and a retractable and adjustable shoulder stock. The side-rail optic mounting bracket found on many Warsaw Pact weapons was omitted and replaced by a Picatinny Rail on a redesigned receiver top, allowing for the mounting of auxiliary equipment. The first orders for the KORD 6P67 rifle were announced in mid-2020. It is believed these orders total about 500 assault rifles, and that these rifles were destined for Spetsnaz units and some Airborne personnel.

Character Background

She's a Doll who was manufactured to military standards and possesses exceptional melee and marksmanship abilities. Her stances on what she likes and hates are clearly defined and she also draws a clear line between her work and personal life. She's very proud of being an elite Doll and thus she takes good care of her people because she considers herself a born leader. If anyone questions her competence, she strikes back, citing her advantages as a basis for her retorts. That said, if she is appointed to another position she will fulfil her duties with a soldier's professionalism. She considers vodka to be the best source of energy and dismisses alcohol below 50 degrees proof as being no different from water. She has a very regimented daily routine which revolves around the dorms, the cafeteria and her club activities. Much of her effort goes toward developing the Vodka Club, whose activities revolve around replacing drinking water with vodka.
