OTs-44
Welcome to IOP Wiki. This website is maintained by the Girls' Frontline community and is free to edit by anyone.
The OTs-44 is a bullpup configured, anti-materiel rifle developed and produced by TsKIB SOO in the 1990s. Similar to the VKS, VSK-94 and VSS Vintorez, OTs-44 is also a suppressed sniper rifle. This rifle have an empty weight of 14kg, measures 1070mm in length, it is the largest rifle TsKIB SOO ever produced. Like some of the other firearms developed by TsKIB SOO, very little information (Or liable information) is known regarding the performance of this prototype weaponry due to it's limited numbers produced.
OTs-44 have an odd reloading method, apparently, the barrel has to be offset forward for reloading. Reloading is done manually, which implies it is fed from an internal magazine, sources suggests the capacity of the magazine is 8 rounds, the exact location of this internal magazine remains unknown. Other features of the rifle that can be identified visually based on the appearance includes an adjustable monopod at the rear and an adjustable bipod up front. Optical scopes can be fitted on OTs-44 by using the SVD style side mounts.
OTs-44 is chambered for the 12.7×108mm anti-material round, multiple designs can be found on the gun to counter act the immense amount of recoil generated by firing 12.7mm rounds, such as the integrated spring system in the stock and the notably large integrated suppressor. These features effected the accuracy significantly, so the OTs-44 is not designed for long distance engagements, but instead it tries to offer greater devastation/penetration of covers at the effective range of 7.62x54mmR rounds.
It is also to be noted that suppressing the sound of a 12.7mm round shot is impossible without causing serious change to the bullet's trajectory, the suppressor only serves to suppress the gunshot noise down to the same level as a SVD, in attempt to disguise the bullet calibre. The suppressor itself is integrated, it's working principle is similar to AS Val's integrated suppressor, it wraps along the barrel and does not increase the total weapon length. Under the metallic shroud of the suppressor, there are 4 cylindrical chamber divided by metallic transverse bulkheads, gas enters the suppressor via gas release ports on the barrel and into these separate chambers.
Obtainable from multiple event maps of Arctic Warfare. Added to heavy crafting pool as of the 6th of July 2017, can now be obtained heavy construction as well.
