Small Armored Machine type Sangvis Ferri units.

Appearances

Tarantula units typically appear during midnight chapters, though they occasionally appear during day time. They typically appears in large size groups of themselves.

Gameplay

In-game stats:

  • Classification: Armored Machine
  • Damage: Very high
  • Accuracy: Moderate
  • Attack range: Melee
  • Health: Low
  • Armor value: Low
  • Evasion: N/A
  • Movement speed: Moderate fast

Tarantulas are essentially armored version of Dinergate units, they behaves in a very similar manner. Tarantulas have low individual health and low armor values, due to the fact that they are armored, their evasion value are by default is very low. Their short attack range is compensated by their moderately fast movement speed and high damage up close, individual attacks can devastate even an armored SG type T-dolls.

Tarantula swarms can be difficult for low rate of fire RF type T-dolls to deal with. In a SG/MG formation if MG T-dolls does not have sufficient ammo chain to finish off the wave and are forced to reload for the second salvo, the Tarantulas may capitalize up on this reloading time frame and devastate the frontal SG units. They can also prove to be a difficult challenge if player's AR type T-dolls does not have sufficient damage output to penetrate their armor threshold.

The most effective way to combat Tarantula units is deploy SG/MG formation enough sufficient ammo chain, the MG's armor piercing rounds and fast fire rate will make short work of the Tarantulas. Or one can deploy AR and SMG type T-dolls who have sufficient damage attribute to penetrate the armor threshold, and/or with area damage capability such as launching/throwing explosive/molotovs. Additionally, one can make use of airstrike fairy to quickly defeat all Tarantula units on the screen since they have low individual HP.

Lore / Story involvement

An armored variant of Dinergate, small armored mechanical automaton of Sangvis Ferri origin, visual appearance similar to a small quadruped animal. Tarantula unit can be identified by its large frontal oculary sensor. Differ from Dinergates, Tarantulas does not have access to any other form of movement tools other than their quadrupedal mechanical legs, it is likely their added armor mass prevent them from moving via airborne or waterborne.

Tarantulas are likely used in similar roles as Dinergates, though they are considered higher graded units manufactured by Sangvis Ferri so they were widely exported to the military, they typically serves professional army units instead of private sectors. They are likely to be used for security guarding, sector monitoring, also for search & rescue operations within military units.

After Butterfly event and the Sangvis Ferri command chain overhaul, Tarantulas are now being used as a combat unit serving under Mastermind, individual combat performance are considered trivial compared to Sangvis Ferri Humanoid type androids. Differs from their predecessor Dinergate, Tarantulas are not equipped with any form of weaponry, they capitalize their armored body and performs physical attacks only.

Trivia

  • Tarantulas are often address as 'armored dogs' by the player base.
