A series of SMG weapons developed by KRISS USA (Formally TDI), The SMG Vector (Gen I) was previously known as Super V in 2007, now with latest Gen II Vector released in 2015, "Super V" now merely refers to the recoil reduction mechanism featured on the gun.
The KRISS Vector is a series of weapons based upon the parent submachine gun design developed by the American firearms company KRISS USA, formerly Transformational Defense Industries (TDI). The various weapons in the Vector family use an unconventional delayed blowback system combined with an in-line design to reduce perceived recoil and muzzle climb.<ref name= "wiki">[[wikipedia:KRISS Vector|Wikipedia entry on Vector]]</ref>
A delayed blowback operated sub machinegun with a strange visual appearance, Vector fires from a closed bolt, featuring selective fire mechanism with 2-round burst, semi and full auto. Prototype Vector was designed to chamber the .45 ACP cartridge but Gen II Vector have variants that fires the 9x19mm Parabellum, can be fired at a rate of 1200 rounds per minute while being feed by Glock 21's magazine, or a larger proprietary MagEx 25+ extended 25-round magazine. Also featuring foldable stock and Picatinny rail on top of the gun for mounting optics.
In the spring of 2007, the company then known as TDI announced that they were in the process of developing a new submachine gun. This experimental firearm would make use of a unique mechanical action, originally designed and patented by French engineer Renaud Kerbrat. This action, called the 'KRISS Super V' or sometimes referred to as 'vector-delayed blowback' or 'off-axis blowback', is an articulated mechanism which allows the bolt and an inertia block to recoil off-axis into a recess behind the weapon's magazine well. The theory is that at the end of travel, the energy from the bolt is transmitted downward rather than rearward, thus reducing felt recoil. When fired, the barrel axis is in line with the shoulder like with the M16 rifle, but also in line with the shooter's hand like is the case with many target pistols. This is intended to reduce muzzle climb when combined with the off-axis bolt travel, though it also greatly raises the height-over-bore of the sights. The initial prototype model by TDI achieved a rate of fire of 1,500 rounds per minute, though this was brought down to around 1,200 rounds per minute on the production models.
Vector is noted for it's recoil reducing designs, Super V Recoil Mitigation System, that is an articulated mechanism which allows the bolt and an inertia block to move downward into a recess behind the magazine well. Together with the rate of fire brought down to 1200 from 1500 RPM, this SMG can be easily controlled even during fully automatic firing of large calibre pistol cartridges.
The Vector is split into two major assemblies in a manner similar to an AR-15 rifle, with the receivers secured together with four push pins. Due to the weapon's unusual layout, the lower receiver contains the action, charging handle, magazine well, and barrel, while the upper receiver houses the ejection port, rail system, pistol grip, and fire control components, as well as the stock for configurations that have one. This modular design allows for simple caliber conversions without the need for additional tools. All one would have to do is swap out the lower receiver for one in the desired caliber. The Vector's safety is ambidextrous (as is the fire selector on the full auto models), while the ejection port, charging handle, bolt release catch, and magazine release are not, and are only available in a right-handed configuration.
Gen I Vector variant are no longer in production, all further production of Vector units from KRISS USA are now Gen II. Gen II Vector SMG is available only to the military and law enforcement agency while other semi automatic variants are available for civilian market.<ref name= "wiki"></ref>
The original 'Gen I' model of the Vector would begin serial production in 2009, and was originally chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. KRISS claims that the .45 ACP chambering was chosen in order to demonstrate that the Vector's action could "tame such a powerful round". Vectors chambered in .45 ACP are designed to accept standard Glock 21 pistol magazines. Although initially only offered in .45 ACP, additional potential caliber options such as .22 LR, .40 S&W, and 9×19mm Parabellum were mentioned when the gun was first released. In 2015, KRISS announced the upgraded 'Gen II' Vector. This new version featured a redesigned pistol grip and trigger, and the swing angle of the safety lever was reduced from 120 to 45 degrees. It also eliminated the opening above the barrel for the original weapon's optional Surefire weapon light, since these are no longer manufactured. Also introduced with the Gen II was a new lower receiver designed for 9x19mm Parabellum. Vectors chambered for 9mm are designed to utilize standard Glock 17 magazines. A version of the Vector chambered in .22LR would be announced five years later at SHOT Show 2020.

Vector is also one of the taller SMG T-dolls, body height well exceeds 160cm, though her height seem to be reduced a lot with her Kitty Paw costume (below 150cm) and increased with the wedding dress (almost 2 metres)... Vector is also one of the taller SMG T-dolls, with a total height exceeding 160cm. Official character description would have her down as a T-doll with very few words and a weird personality, despite her asocial persona she would still silently offer aid to her allies in need, as a result she is actually a fairly popular T-doll. Vector possesses an incredibly pessimist characteristic, she radiate intense level of negative energy with the way she acts with the things she says, she would expect the worst outcome out of any situation.
Vector's character personality and the way she acts out is likely inspired by the difficult and intertwined history of the actual weapon itself. Being developed by an American company, designer is Swedish while the mechanism copyright is French. After first public reveal, the weapon received doubts from the audience due to the strange visual appearance. Over a period of several years redevelopment, even a name change for both the weapon and the company, the weapon's performance is finally being admired by public. Despite the high performance of the finished product it still did not enter Military service, while the civilian market started complaining about it's high pricing (Popular with the film/games industry though due to it's Sci-Fi look).

Together with the high default rate of fire/damage and the given ability, Vector is in fact, the strongest thrown-grenade type unit in the game. Her default shooting damage when buffed is notable, while her Molotov skill is very effective against large enemy crowds and/or high evasion enemies during day and night missions. On top of that Vector is able to provide a massive rate of fire bonus to the AR unit standing behind her. Note that Vector's default evasion is lower than most SMG, so her tanking performance is not as ideal as the others.
The second 5* SMG introduced in the game, the first one is {{doll name|Thompson|SMG|5}}. Vector is actually fairly common for a 5* rarity doll, most Commanders will have received their Vector within a month of playing, which could mean for most players, her expansion is less expensive than the other 5* T-dolls. Vector was as part of Hitori Bocchi, she was one of the two main characters who represented Girls Frontline during the collaboration event with Honkai Gakuen on November 16th 2017.
Vector's costumes Kitty Paw and Love is Blind described her side story interactions with the Commander during 2017's Halloween Freaky Stories and 2018's Sweet Oath.

==== Hitoribocchi ====
Vector was the first T-doll to make contact with a Honkai character after she encountered {{doll name|Kiana|HG|EXTRA}}. (Note that [[Hitoribocchi]] is told from a perspective of Kiana being the Commander, the actual player character was removed from command duty early on in the chapter, he/she "could not interact with this event due to unnameable reasons." according to {{doll name|Five-seveN|HG|5}}). T-doll {{doll name|PP-90|SMG|4}} interacted with Vector extensively through out this event, even gave her the nickname "Vivi" out of affections, while Vivi can address PP-90 as "Pipi". Initially irritated by this, Vivi eventually gave in, accepted her fate and her new nickname.
Hitoribocchi centered around Vivi, Pipi and Kiana, the story began with Schicksal Valkyrja entering the world of Girls Frontline with their flagship Hyperion. Their garrison suddenly came under attack by waves of "Zombies", mechanized rogue T-dolls who feasts upon Digi-mind circuits. Pipi worked as the Commander's adjutant in the garrison, when they came under attack, Pipi helped organize and direct T-doll units for retreating. Vivi however stayed back to divert attention away from the main forces' retreat, she volunteered for this solitary task since she is an elite T-doll, promises were made for her own extraction from Pipi, but Vivi never expected it to arrive.
"Today is another absolute worse day possible, but I'm not sad, because tomorrow might get worse... If I live to see tomorrow that is."

Endless waves of zombies have exhausted Vivi's munitions, she locked herself in the last warehouse, sealed the door shut and used her final explosives on the infested. "Alright, that's the last explosive gone, no more regrets... Let see how long this door holds up.". Pipi contacted and reported that their forces have fully withdrawn, Vivi should escape too. However their communication was cut short when an earthquake struck, the communication systems are offline, a segment of the wall collapsed and the infested are slowly creeping in. "Great...", Vivi stood up again, sealed the secret exit tight and prepared herself to accept her fate.
Suddenly a girl with white hair appeared, making short work of the infested with her handgun, she approached Vivi, mistaking her as a human girl who was in trouble at first. Being the professional T-doll she is, Vivi greeted Kiana professionally, she pointed her weapon at Kiana: "Your name.", "Hey, if you fight me now, you will get rekt, also is that how you treat someone who just saved your life?!", Vector rephrased herself: "Thank you, now your name please.", she continues to point her weapon at Kiana. After acquiring her name, Vivi began to inquire who she works for, but their chatter was cut short due to the approaching infested, concluding the fact that Kiana was not a hostile, Vector agreed to travel with her in the powerless facility.
"By the way Ms Kiana, I'm not a human. While I'm probably not very good representation of my company's image but, <del>Vivi</del> Vector of Private Military Contractor Gryfon & Kryuger, here by thank you for enlisting our service.".
Walking around in the facility, Kiana learnt the basics of this world from Vector, regarding the status of humanity and about private military contractors. The base have been evacuated, all the active combatants left the facility with the exception of Vector. "So we will be meeting the rest of your units then? After we leave here?" Kiana inquires. "More or less, but sorry Ms Kiana, the current objective is not leaving this facility.", Vector intentionally took the same route three times while checking for faults in the communication network. Seeing that Kiana have absolutely no hopes of getting out of the facility herself, Vector concluded that she is not a corporate spy, or at least too unprofessional to be one.
Despite all the complains from Kiana, Vector walked into the last room on her patrol, after some quick repairs, Vector managed to fix the communication network and got in contact with Pipi. Pipi explained that they are still under siege from waves of infested, the earthquake cut off their communication system too, but thanks to Vivi it is now repaired and they managed to contact the Commander. The main units will began breaking the siege now with the Commander's forces assisting them from the outside, Vector mentioned that she will regroup with the units momentarily with this new human girl she found.
After the operation, with Kiana bought back to Vivi's the main unit in that sector, the villain behind the attack also revealed herself. Destroyer contacted via open comms, with her new found servants, she announced that she will destroy G&K once and for all, as a payback to all the humiliations she endured. The communication Vector fixed is now once again cut off by Destroyer's minions, without access to a human Commander, the T-dolls are unable to operate on their own. Hearing Pipi's explanations on T-doll's basic operations, Kiana made remark on how differently T-dolls function when compared to humans.
Hearing this, Vector quickly picked up on the subject and accused Kiana. Vector proposed that the earthquake earlier was caused Kiana's entry into this world, if Kiana have no appeared, she would have been able to escape from the facility, regroup with the units and leave the region under the Commander's orders. But now, they are all essentially left to die in this garrison. The argument quickly heated up between the two, out of anger, Kiana made a decision, since T-dolls cannot operate without a human commander, she will take over that role since she is the only human there. Shocked by this decision, but Vector and Pipi realised that this could work out, after a quick tutorial Kiana got the hang of the basics of commanding T-doll echelons, Pipi assumed the role of her adjutant.
Under Kiana's command, they swiftly assaulted a former G&K base under Ferri control and reestablished communication back with the HQ, however their Commander was nowhere to be found, instead they were greeted by FN Squadron's Five-seveN. 57 mentions that due to unnameable reasons, their Commander isn't allowed to interact with the current situation otherwise there will be irreversible and dire consequential reactions, she was put in charge of their operation instead. Pipi mentions that they found a temporary human commander who is currently in charge. "That's great, I'm actually super busy with FAL and the others.", 57 mentions that other members of the FN squadron are currently dealing with another random human who entered a restricted relic area, but they are unable to reach them due to the infested horde, she informed the new commander to take charge and deal with this situation.
Multiple assaults later, they made it through the infested horde, Kiana is reunited with {{doll name|Theresa|HG|EXTRA}} and {{doll name|Murata Himeko|AR|EXTRA}}. The two Valkyries joined their companion Kiana at the garrison again. With the operation ended in success, they exchanged Intel with 57 and discussed further plans against the invasion.
Honkai energy is essentially the negative chaotic energy, it expresses itself through many aspects, primarily it incites war, spreads diseases, wreaks havoc, many worlds have already fallen to Honkai. Members of Schicksal Valkyrja have fought this across many worlds and dimensions, but their journey to the world of Girls Frontline was an unexpected one. Honkai energy that should have never existed in this world, it some how incarnated and spawned countless numbers of mechanized zombie girls. The next move for the group would be to locate their other missing crew members {{doll name|Raiden Mei|RF|EXTRA}} and {{doll name|Bronya|RF|EXTRA}}, for Vector however was to locate the Hyperion and protect a fellow Valkyrie named {{doll name|Seele|SG|EXTRA}}, Pipi begged to come along but Vector rejected the offer and said that she works better on her own, so Pipi joined the main group instead.

Being efficient with her work, Vivi quickly located the Hyperion with the coordinates provided, she contacted Seele on Hyperion's bridge, who responded after hearing about her companions' request. Seele however, requested Vector to escort her back to her sister Bronya, she is afraid of staying on the ship due to the nearby infested creatures.
Finishing up the task at hand, Pipi made contact over the radio after her side of the task was finished, she inquired about how Vector was doing on her side and eagerly engaged in friendly chatters with her. However Pipi's enthusiastic words were met with Vector's cold responses,
Vector took an underground route in hope to hide Seele's human smell from the infested, however the plan seem to have failed, the two soon came under siege from both sides. After the Honkai source from the Sangvis Ferri leader was dealt with and a brief repair, Pipi set off to rendezvous with Vector in the tunnel, she arrived just on time to assist them with the infested problems. Blowing up the tunnel wall, moving the two to an adjacent tunnel and resealing the hole, the group is now safe again.
Vector received updated situation from Pipi, they have located all the Valkyries and dealt with Destroyer. However the two T-dolls sensed that Seele was acting strange. Moments later they were quickly cut down by a series of precise and deadly melee blows, Seele was never in her normal persona, she was the one who unleashed a sample of Honkai from the Hyperion while the Valkyries were entering this world, the infested down at the tunnels were also created by Seele. The pair was left critically wounded while alter Seele proceeded with her intended task.
The sound of the infested woke Vector up in the tunnels, "There are things I have yet to tell you PP90... Today is the absolute worse day, ever... But if I wasn't acquainted with you, perhaps I would have a normal death down here...". Vector ignoring the pain and stood up again, "Now thanks to you, I can't have the pleasure of dying...", Vector carried Pipi over her shoulders and operated her weapon with the spare hand to fight off the infested, she slowly makes her way back to the garrison.
Pipi was awakened by the sound of Vector's weapon firing, sensed that she have awoken, Vector said: "Don't move too much, keep your body together, hold on to me tightly, otherwise I can't promise to bring you back in one piece.", she continues to straggle along the tunnel towards the HQ.
"I thought I died..."
"Unlike humans, we can't die from a couple of severed arteries, intentional or not, it was Seele's doing."
Noticing the sound of the infested coming from behind them, Pipi asked: "We're not safe yet, right...?"
"There are still a lot of infested, I'm not entirely sure if we can make it out of here yet. Any last words? Get if off your chest while you have time."
"Leave me here..."
"I'm willing to believe anything other than that... Wait, you're crying?"

G&K's Halloween celebration is similar to how normal society celebrates, trick or treats, fancy costumes and parties. But only a few T-dolls manage to leave a deep impression on the Commander that night...
''Overall, everything have been proceeding smoothly this Halloween...'' the Commander thinks to him/herself while patrolling the dinning hall of the base.
''The HQ is of a reasonable size, so there are a few naughtier girls, the strict rules we set meant they could not enjoy themselves to the fullest, but at least nothing too horrid happened.'' the Commander continues to ponder while strolling through the base.
''Despite this being a social event, but there are always those who are less social, I'm looking at one right now.'' the Commander sets his/her gaze on Vector.
Unlike the others, Vector isn't wearing a costume, instead she is leaning against the wall at the corner of the room in her usual outfit, while watching the other girls have fun. The Commander approaches Vector, "Why are you not taking part in the event Vector?", Vector refocused her vision on the Commander, "Oh, it's the Commander...", her face is void of expressions, "You actually have tasks that involves using me?".
The Commander thinks, ''Wow, that is a lot of negative energy.'' the Commander then asked: "Everyone is dressed up for Halloween, why are you still in your normal clothes?". Vector's facial expression continues to be emotionless, "Emm- Those fancy costumes would be a waste on someone like me, it's also pretty bad to force everyone to accept me to be part of the activities, so..." Vector is capable of laughing without any emotion behind it, "Hehe...".
The Commander said it would be worse if she is not part of the activity, there are still time left, go and get changed. "I ain't got any costumes though...", Vector presented an unenthusiastic replied. ''This girl...'', luckily the Commander have a couple of spare costumes, in case any of the pranksters' tricks gets played out of hand. "Here, this key, the second drawer in my office, drawer 3, 4 and 5, lots of spare costumes, go get one.", "Do I really have to?", Vector's hesitations are pouring out of her eyes. "Yes of course, maybe everyone will like Vector if she wears a cute costume!", the Commander waves the key in front of Vector's eyes, like kidding a little child with candies. "Alright then.", Vector took the key and walked off, her face remains to be emotionless.

20 minutes later, much to the Commander's surprise, Vector returned with a cat girl costume. Orange framed glasses, hollow pumpkin earring, cross ornament fitted on her boots paired with orange knee-high socks. The orange dress itself is quite contrasting when compared with her pale skin and short silver hair, sparkling glitters are also visible on her skirt. All that comes with her twin cat tail, cat paws and cat ear head ornament. This definitely does not match her usual personality, but it really fits for some reason...
"This is the only one that I can wear." Vector commented on her costume. "Very... Very cute...", the Commander replied, being heart-felt honest. "Cute will be enough right?", Vector asked, while looking into the Commander's eyes, "Of course, I'm sure everyone will like the cute Vector!". Vector nodded to the Commander, she immediately started scratching her chins with the large kitty paw and ponders. "Speaking of cute, I remember reading up about it on a manga before...", the Commander became curious, he/she inquired further, Vector continues to explain, "Yea, it's something like this.". As she speaks, she took off her glasses, leaned forward towards the Commander, put her paws beside her cheeks, then opened her mouth slightly to reveal the decorative fangs...

The KRISS Vector is a series of weapons based upon the parent submachine gun design developed by the American firearms company KRISS USA, formerly Transformational Defense Industries (TDI). The various weapons in the Vector family use an unconventional delayed blowback system combined with an in-line design to reduce perceived recoil and muzzle climb.[1]
In the spring of 2007, the company then known as TDI announced that they were in the process of developing a new submachine gun. This experimental firearm would make use of a unique mechanical action, originally designed and patented by French engineer Renaud Kerbrat. This action, called the 'KRISS Super V' or sometimes referred to as 'vector-delayed blowback' or 'off-axis blowback', is an articulated mechanism which allows the bolt and an inertia block to recoil off-axis into a recess behind the weapon's magazine well. The theory is that at the end of travel, the energy from the bolt is transmitted downward rather than rearward, thus reducing felt recoil. When fired, the barrel axis is in line with the shoulder like with the M16 rifle, but also in line with the shooter's hand like is the case with many target pistols. This is intended to reduce muzzle climb when combined with the off-axis bolt travel, though it also greatly raises the height-over-bore of the sights. The initial prototype model by TDI achieved a rate of fire of 1,500 rounds per minute, though this was brought down to around 1,200 rounds per minute on the production models.
The Vector is split into two major assemblies in a manner similar to an AR-15 rifle, with the receivers secured together with four push pins. Due to the weapon's unusual layout, the lower receiver contains the action, charging handle, magazine well, and barrel, while the upper receiver houses the ejection port, rail system, pistol grip, and fire control components, as well as the stock for configurations that have one. This modular design allows for simple caliber conversions without the need for additional tools. All one would have to do is swap out the lower receiver for one in the desired caliber. The Vector's safety is ambidextrous (as is the fire selector on the full auto models), while the ejection port, charging handle, bolt release catch, and magazine release are not, and are only available in a right-handed configuration.
The original 'Gen I' model of the Vector would begin serial production in 2009, and was originally chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. KRISS claims that the .45 ACP chambering was chosen in order to demonstrate that the Vector's action could "tame such a powerful round". Vectors chambered in .45 ACP are designed to accept standard Glock 21 pistol magazines. Although initially only offered in .45 ACP, additional potential caliber options such as .22 LR, .40 S&W, and 9×19mm Parabellum were mentioned when the gun was first released. In 2015, KRISS announced the upgraded 'Gen II' Vector. This new version featured a redesigned pistol grip and trigger, and the swing angle of the safety lever was reduced from 120 to 45 degrees. It also eliminated the opening above the barrel for the original weapon's optional Surefire weapon light, since these are no longer manufactured. Also introduced with the Gen II was a new lower receiver designed for 9x19mm Parabellum. Vectors chambered for 9mm are designed to utilize standard Glock 17 magazines. A version of the Vector chambered in .22LR would be announced five years later at SHOT Show 2020.
Gen I Vectors are no longer in production, with all current production from KRISS USA being of the updated Gen II pattern. Fully automatic Gen II Vector SMGs are available only to military and law enforcement agencies, with semi-automatic variants available for the civilian market. There are three main configurations available: the Vector CRB carbine (which features an extended 16 inch barrel), the Vector SBR, and the Vector SDP (special duty pistol). In addition to 9×19mm Parabellum and .45 ACP, these civilian models can also be chambered in .40 S&W (using Glock 22 magazines), 10mm Auto (using Glock 20 magazines), or .357 SIG (using Glock 31 magazines). A variant chambered for 9×21mm IMI that feeds from standard 9×19mm Glock 17 magazines is available for the Italian civilian market. The .22LR variant feeds from a proprietary 10 round magazine, and functions using a traditional straight blowback operating system rather than the Super V delayed system.
Character Design
Vector's original artist, SA, shared comments on the design inspirations for Vector in the official Girls' Frontline art book:[2]
"Upon seeing the Vector for the first time, I felt like that she should be a girl with silver hair. Personality should be the serious type, and she should also appear to be a bit cold. (第一次看到vector的外形时，就觉得应该是个银灰色头发的、认真又有点冷的少女)".
"Since it is a modern weapon, her base costume doesn't look as suitable for combat as other T-doll's costumes(因为本身是现代枪，所以服装上看起来不是像其他人那样有战斗感的战术服装)."
"The color scheme of her outfit was taken from the gun itself, and she was given a short skirt to match the short hair. The primary colors used for the outfit were black and creamy yellow, together with a clean white shirt. Vector is also one of the taller SMG T-dolls, with a total height exceeding 160cm. Although, her height seems to be reduced a lot in the art for her 'Kitty Paw' costume (to below 150cm) and increased in her wedding dress skin (to almost 2 metres). Regarding the abnormal body height in the wedding dress costume art, some players have suggested that it is the result of a common photography technique, where the bride is made to stand on a stool or box in order to better reveal the full length of the dress.
During the costume story for her 'Love is Blind' wedding outfit, it is revealed that Vector was indeed standing on top of a crate at the time the photo was taken.
