Mayuri Shiina hails from Akihabara, Japan, in the 2010s. She currently studies at the Hana Asagi University High as a second-year.

Kind and easygoing by nature, she is always seen with a smile on her face and is able to approach and befriend anyone with incredible speed. She has many unique quirks, such as greeting people with her catchphrase of "Tutturu~" and so on. Also, while she might speak and act in a laid-back manner, she is actually highly athletic. Her hobby is sewing cosplay outfits.

While she is a simple high-schooler who is not connected to science and research in any way, she is one of the founding members of the Future Gadgets Lab, whose internal designation is LabMem No. 002. Due to an accident, she ended up crossing over to the world of Magrasea.

Mayuri Shiina stands 152cm tall and weighs 45kg. Her three sizes are B65-W56-H82, and her blood type is O. She commonly wears a light blue sundress, a hat, and short boots. Data suggests that she is shorter than most humans of similar age, and it has been commented that "despite being a high-schooler, she looks more like a middle-schooler".

Both her appearance and disposition suit the image of the "innocent girl". Be it the gentle smile on her face, her tone, or how she does things, they all give others the impression of being relaxed and easygoing. She is not naturally given to arguing with people or paying close attention to details; she simply does her own thing. Perhaps it's because she does her own thing all the time or because of her extremely whimsical nature, Mayuri often says very unusual things. Most notable among them is her catchphrase of "Tutturu~". The word itself has no particular meaning, yet certain agents have already begun adopting it in their speech.

Despite being one of the three founding members of the strange organization known as the "Future Gadgets Lab", Mayuri has never participated in the development of any Future Gadgets and she doesn't even seem interested in research at all. For Mayuri, the main reason she takes part in Lab activities is because it makes her happy. However, this does not mean she does not contribute to the Lab. Her influence can be seen in each Round Table Conference, or the little things she does for Okabe and the others after long periods of overtime, and even in the names of each and every Future Gadget.

Even if she does not understand the full nature of the situation, she always ends up providing the necessary push in critical situations. Her nigh-supernatural instincts and detective-like insight are always able to help everyone through their difficulties. As long as Mayuri remains in the Future Gadgets Lab, she gives it a completely different atmosphere. Naturally, as LabMem No. 002, she steps forward when the time is right to contribute what she can to the little Lab.

Due to her innocent and offbeat nature, Mayuri often says and does things that easily invite misunderstandings, such as randomly blurting out "Mayushii is Okarin's hostage~", looking up into the sky, randomly standing still and extending her arm, and so on. These incidents are not only linked to Mayuri's personality but also her past. In her youth, her favorite thing was spending time with her grandmother, and being carried on her grandmother's back while watching the starry sky is a precious memory for her. As a result, after her grandmother passed away, Mayuri sank into depression for a while until she finally managed to extricate herself from her sadness with Okabe's help. Perhaps her longing for her grandmother led her to develop her habit of "Stardust Handshake".

Unlike her typical easygoing nature, Mayuri is surprisingly athletic. Perhaps that is the source of a special technique of hers, "Silent Return", where her very presence seems to vanish. Mayuri has a habit of running off without saying a word and then lazily strolling back afterward.

Mayuri was briefly surprised and worried after her sudden arrival in Magrasea, but her shocking ability to adapt soon showed itself. While she clearly had no idea what had happened, her lack of understanding did not stop her from blending into the Oasis.

Even after coming to a completely different world, Mayuri carried on in her own relaxed way in the Oasis. Her days were spent either making cosplay outfits in the Lab or working in the Oasis branch of the Mayqueen+Nyan² maid cafe, as though she were still in her previous world. When she learned the Oasis did not have "Upas", she was somewhat depressed, but then she threw herself into making new Upa-related items with her usual gusto.

Although Mayuri has lived in the Oasis for some time now, she does not seem to have noticed the differences between agents and humans. She quickly blended in with her friends in the Oasis and enjoys her life there. She has been sighted in just about every corner of the Oasis, from sewing with Chanzhi, watching anime with Croque and Nascita, and even attending Nanaka's concerts.

Meanwhile, Mayuri brought many of her likes from her previous world to the Oasis, such as the "Juicy Chicken No. 1!" sold in MayQueen+Nyan², to the episodes of RaiNet Kakeru played on loop in the lounge, the "Upa Hug Pillows" which are wildly popular in the Oasis, the cosplay outfits Mayuri designed for the agents... That said, there are still no records to date of Mayuri wearing any of the cosplay outfits she designed. It seems she prefers to have her friends wear her carefully-designed outfits rather than wearing them herself.
