Aki had completed a session at the Oasis training hall when he struck up a conversation with Simo. Aki planned to take a shower and then review the lunch menu, wondering if Lanzhou noodles were on the menu again. Simo was surprised, having told Daiyan to make unagi rice for him as it was Aki's favorite. Aki began to clarify that unagi rice was still the best, when Daiyan's name registered in his head and asked Simo to confirm the name again. Aki exclaimed that Daiyan was a famous classical music performer of Cyber Media that sparked a revival in the genre. Unfortunately he was unable to attend her last performance. He regretted missing another opportunity to obtain an autograph. But before he could mull over this for too long, Simo pointed out that Instructor Python was looking their way, resulting in Aki hastily leaving the training hall.

Aki later encountered Daiyan and attempted to seek out an autograph from her, with Sockdolager teasing him for having a desperate expression while asking. His request was interrupted by Kuro who was running away from Florence. Kuro begged Aki for help, but Aki recalled that Kuro had stolen the last serving of unagi rice from the cafeteria a few days ago. Kuro then attempted to use Aki as a shield against Florence's syringes. Aki saw this and tried to evade, but then hesitated when he realized both Daiyan and Sockdolager were behind him as well. Florence threw the syringes and they pierced his shoulders, resulting in Aki collapsing heavily to the ground. He was then rushed to Oasis' Medical Department, being half-carried and half dragged by Florence, with Daiyan informing Persicaria that Florence had hit him with her experimental drugs.
