Career[edit]
Kurisu Makise hails from Akihabara, Japan, in the 2010s. She is currently studying at Viktor Chondria University.
Kurisu went abroad to study in the US at the tender age of 11 and skipped grades until she graduated from Viktor Chondria University before having her theses published in Science Magazine. Currently, she works at the university's neuroscience faculty, and there can be no doubt that she is a bona fide girl genius. Her slender frame and appearance give the impression of calmness and rationality, but the truth is that she is extremely curious. She loves to do experiments and verify theories, and is generally filled with a passion for science.
Due to knowing Rintaro Okabe and seeing his lab, she was forced to join the "Future Gadgets Lab" as LabMem No. 004. She later ended up crossing over to the world of Magrasea in a freak accident.
Doll Profile 1[edit]
Kurisu Makise stands 160cm tall and weighs 45kg. Her three sizes are B79-W56-H83. She is considered a girl genius who is one in a million. In her youth, she went abroad to further her studies, and by 18 she became a researcher at the Viktor Chondria University's faculty of neuroscience, following which she achieved much acclaim for publishing her thesis "Analysis Of Neural Impulse Signals For Memories Stored Within The Temporal Lobe" in Science Magazine. Though her main focus is neuroscience, she has shown extraordinary talent in other fields.
Kurisu is highly competitive and enjoys arguing with others. This became the reason she came to know Rintaro Okabe; when she was in Japan, Kurisu hosted a lecture on time machines as a guest speaker, and as she discussed the point of "whether time machines actually exist\ she got into a dispute with Okabe, who was part of the audience, and thus the two of them met. It was also because of this encounter that she came to know him and the other members of the Future Gadgets Lab. Driven by her curiosity, she was "forced" to join the Lab.
Doll Profile 2[edit]
As a theoretician, Kurisu often argues with Okabe over differences in their viewpoints. The two of them have often feuded over whether or not time machines can really exist. Sources familiar with their thinking state that Kurisu's denial of time machine theory seems to be closely linked to an event in her past. In her youth, she had a vicious argument with her father over research into time machines, and the two of them became estranged thereafter. This incident caused Kurisu to resent time machines and also indirectly fueled her search for truth and understanding in the scientific and other fields.
At the same time, Kurisu throws herself wholeheartedly into topics that interest her, even going so far as to make controversial statements during her research, such as "experimental data is more valuable than the privacy of experimental subjects". For this reason, Okabe considers Kurisu to have the qualities of a mad scientist, something that she vehemently denies.
Doll Profile 3[edit]
Apart from her achievements in research, Kurisu is not too different from an ordinary person. When she is bored, she enjoys surfing the Internet, and supposedly the user "Kurigohan and Kamehameha" who appeared on the Oasis' anonymous boards recently is very likely to be her.
According to Kurisu, she is also very good at household chores. While she is not on Mayuri or Chanzhi's level, she is still a capable seamstress; in fact, her outfit is a high school uniform that she modified herself. In addition to sewing, Kurisu claims to be a good cook too, but whenever she declares the desire to show her skills, everyone in the Future Gadgets Lab comes together to stop her, as though she was not making a dish, but some kind of lethal weapon.

Doll Profile 4[edit]
Following her accidental relocation to the world of Magrasea, Kurisu did not show any drastic fluctuations in her emotions or behavior. She quickly threw herself into understanding her circumstances, established relations with the Oasis, and began making plans to better adapt to the situation. Thanks to her serving as an intermediary, the Future Gadgets Lab managed to quickly establish a consensus and successfully cooperate with the Oasis.
After settling down in the Oasis, Kurisu developed a strong interest in Doll neural cloud technology. She has often been seen studying data provided by Persicaria through the night, even spending days at a time immersed in her research. At the same time, Kurisu has also provided the Oasis with her expertise. While the scientific frameworks and developmental extent of both worlds have marked differences, there are still many things worth exchanging. Perhaps it was because of her passion for science and her achievements in AI and neuroscience, but Kurisu has earned the respect of the Oasis' researcher agents. Rossum Sector once sent out a research team to learn about AI research in Kurisu's world. One particular memory storage technique called "Amadeus" has become the subject of a joint study by the agents of many sectors.
Doll Profile 5[edit]
The combination of Kurisu's bland expression, her cool tone, and the frequent usage of technical jargon often gives others the impression that she is detached and aloof. However, many Dolls in the Oasis have attested that after coming to understand her in-depth, she has a cute side to her. Although she might act stiff at times, she is willing to seriously listen to and consider opinions that are opposed to her; her raging curiosity drives her to attempt many unexpected things, and her strong facade hides a tendency to be easily riled up...
During a festive occasion that fell not long after her arrival in the Oasis, Kurisu received many gifts from the other agents, including but not limited to various sci-fi novels, ramen, pudding, Dr.P, and so on. She was startled by the sheer amount of presents she had received and by how well everyone knew her. In the end, she held a celebratory party for everyone in the Future Gadgets Lab, filling its cramped interior with her friends. In a sense, she is very compatible with the Oasis, even if many of the rules that govern it are vastly different from the ones in her location of origin. The Oasis has welcomed this otherworldly scholar, and she views it as a home away from home.
