Type 81 Carbine is an obtainable Tactical Doll in the game.

Weapon Background

A short barrel, bolt action rifle designed for mounted cavalry/scout unit service. Type 81 Carbine was developed during the Second Sino-Japanese War, a rifle presented to 8th Route Army Strategic Command of Communist Party of China (CPC). Post war CPC sources would suggest that the Type 81 carbine was developed in 1939, presented to the Strategic Command on the 1st August (hence the name Type 81) and entered production in various arms plant in the resistance region in September. Sources would also suggest the production of this rifle would have stopped after 1945.

Type 81's mechanism is based on the Liao Type 13 rifle (Mukden Rifle), which in itself was a copy of Mauser Gewehr 1898, as a result the Type 81 Carbine have both German and Japanese design elements. Originally designed to chamber the 7.92x57mm Mauser cartridge like the Hanyang rifles, later model would change the chamber cartridge to the Japanese 6.5×50mmSR Arisaka, fed by it's internal magazine of 5-round capacity.

Type 81 is noted for it's build material, the weapon's barrel and mechanisms are constructed with railway steel, which was captured from the invading Imperial Japanese forces during the war. Other notable feature differentiates Type 81 from the other rifles at the time would also be the shorter barrel/total length, the light weight and the rapid deploying bayonet folding mechanism near the muzzle.

This weapon would have served the CPC faction of China from WW2 till the establishment of People's Republic of China and Korean War, all bolt action service rifle are to be gradually replaced by Simonov and Kalashnikov series of semi-automatic/automatic rifle after the Korean Peninsula conflicts.

Character Info

Design

The character design was based on the anime mascot of China's high speed rail network, Chinese Railway Harmony CRH380A 梁凌薇 (Pinyin: Liang Lingwei), who was also designed and drawn by the same artist 八才. Much of her outfit are designed with reference to the servicing personal onboard China's high speed rail network, much of her spoken vocabularies resembles a conductor. Player base would often address Type 81 as a collaboration character with the China Railway Girl project.

Based on Lingwei, Type 81's body figure should be retained.

Personality

Much of Type 81's personality resembles her other self in China Rail Girl project. The official character description would have her down as a hard working and cool headed character, she treats her work with the approach and style of a railway conductor. She is constantly attempting to improve her service performance, though with her being so strict on herself, it does make the other T-dolls find it hard to approach her.

In-Game

Type 81 features a nocturnal fire rate improvement skill, her nocturnal skill effect magnitude is much higher than the diurnal effects.

• The in-game screen would suggest that Type 81 Carbine is able to chamber the 7.92x33mm Mauser, however according to a Chinese published magazine "Light Weapons", the 11th edition of year 2015 under the article "Type 81 Carbine: 8th Route Army's most manufactured Rifle"(《轻兵器》2015年第11期《八一式马步枪:八路军最大量产步枪》) it is not the case. The article suggests 7.92x33mm Mauser was a smaller cartridge developed for the automatic rifle like StG44, the development date does not match and the predecessors were all designed to chamber 7.92x57mm Mauser.
