It was developed in Nazi Germany and used extensively by the Axis powers during World War II.Designed in 1938 by Heinrich Vollmer with inspiration from its predecessor the MP38, it was heavily used by infantrymen, paratroopers, platoon and squad leaders on the Eastern and Western Front. Its advanced and modern features made it a favorite among soldiers and popular in countries from various parts of the world after the war.
However, it's not all good news. MP40 has poor evasion for an SMG - lagging almost 10 points behind other mid-range SMGs. What this means is that, in many cases, MP40 trades a bit of her ability to tank enemy fire for the ability to do much more damage in combat. This necessitates equipping her with higher-level Exoskeletons, pairing her with Evasion-boosting allies, or more commonly, ''both'' to keep her in the fight against more accurate foes.
