Weapon Background
The SUB-2000 is a pistol-caliber carbine manufactured by Kel-Tec CNC Industries of Cocoa, Florida, United States. It is designed to be a compact, lightweight, easy-to-use, and relatively cheap firearm, and adheres to many of the design principles displayed in other Kel-Tec products.[1]
The SUB-2000, like most Kel-Tec products, was designed by the company's founder George Kellgren, a Swedish-American firearms designer who also designed many earlier Husqvarna, Grendel, and Intratec brand firearms, including the famous TEC-9 handgun. The SUB-2000 is a type of firearm known as a 'pistol-caliber carbine', which are long guns chambered to fire handgun ammunition. They fall in line between full-length rifles and standard pistols in terms of power, handling, and magazine capacity, and are a decent choice for newer or first-time shooters due to their light recoil and ease of use. This type of firearm has become more popular in recent years for several reasons, including rising ammo prices (for the most part, handgun ammo is cheaper to acquire than rifle ammo), ease of suppression, and the implementation of magazine/firearm restrictions or bans in several states making this type of weapon one of the only options available for some people. One of the largest benefits of a pistol-caliber carbine is that it allows the shooter to share magazines and ammo with their pistol, simplifying logistics.[2]
The SUB-2000 is a blowback-operated semi-automatic firearm with its operating spring located in the tubular stock. The receiver is made of an impact modified glass reinforced polymer, similar to many other weapons produced by Kel-Tec. The weapon feeds from a grip-located magazine well, and Kel-Tec sells several types of magazine catch that can be easily installed in the SUB-2000 to allow for the use of Glock, Beretta, CZ75B, Smith & Wesson, or SIG Sauer pistol magazines.[3] The distinguishing characteristic of this rifle is that it folds in half for storage and transportation. Folding is accomplished by pulling downward on the trigger guard and swinging the barrel assembly back over the top of the rifle. A latch in the buttstock secures to the front sight housing, and the gun can be locked with a key in the folded position for added safety. The gun cannot be fired when folded.
Character Design
According to the designer's notes for SUB-2000 in Art of Girls' Frontline, SUB-2000's design was inspired by the character of Akira Mosakuji/Labyrista from the anime/video game Princess Connect! Re:Dive.
Character Background
A former yoga coach, her body is extremely flexible and can fit into various containers. After joining Griffin, she became extremely thrifty thanks to the influence of a certain someone, to the point of setting down very strict monthly savings goals for herself, and she will go to any means necessary to achieve those goals. All in all, she is a passionate and friendly Doll, but if you end up dating her, please remember to keep your wallet close at hand.

Trivia
- SUB-2000 was the first T-Doll released that affected 3 stats with her tile buffs.
- Prior to joining Griffin, SUB-2000 was originally an abandoned yoga instructor doll surviving in the slums of a city. She led a group of other abandoned dolls while being chased by Angel Doll Church believers who mistook her as Misia, the god whom they worshiped. The real Misia was actually RF M82A1M82A1M82A1, who had escaped from the church and made their way to G&K quite some time ago. HG Welrod MkIIWelrod MkIIWelrod MkII ended up saving this group of dolls, and the group's leader joined G&K and became SUB-2000. The rest of SUB-2000's old group now lead a relatively peaceful and self-sufficient life by growing crops on an abandoned plot of land in the Yellow Zone.[4]
- Despite being classified as one in-game, the SUB-2000 is not a submachine gun, as it is only available as a semi-automatic weapon. Full-auto conversions of a SUB-2000 are illegal. Only a handful of registered prototype examples have ever existed in full-auto. These prototypes have likely been destroyed.
- Some SUB-2000s have been known to malfunction and cycle fully-automatically, but this is rare and not intended by the manufacturer.
- SUB-2000 was the final monthly login reward T-Doll to be released. After her release, the developers started implementing monthly login equipment instead.
