Weapon Background edit
The FN FNP-9 pistol is a semi-automatic, polymer-framed pistol manufactured by Fabrique Nationale de Herstal. It is part of a series of polymer-framed semi-auto pistols, with versions offered in the 9×19mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, and .357 SIG cartridges. The FNP-9 is the version chambered for 9×19mm Parabellum. The FNP series debuted in 2006, and is used in limited numbers by police forces in Belgium and the United States.
All variations of the FNP include ambidextrous decocking levers and a reversible magazine release, as well as an integrated tactical accessory rail. According to FNH USA, the FNP line of pistols is the only polymer-framed autoloading pistol on the market (as of its introduction) with fully replaceable frame rails; this allows the pistol to be rebuilt after extensive firing, thereby extending service life.[1]
