Drinks Menu and Feedback Wall
Unlike other events where shop currencies are directly earned by playing supply stages, the supply stages in Zucchero Café instead yield Coffee Beans and Cloudberries. These ingredients are then used to mix the drinks offered on the menu. Each drink takes a certain amount of time to be sold, and generates a certain amount of sales points, customers points, opinion stickers and shop currency. Selling drinks of a specific type is among the missions that must be accomplished to earn shop currency and increase the cafés rank from C to C+, to B, to B+, and up to rank S. As the rank of the café increases, new drinks are unlocked and new items are available in the event shop. The Common Key Fragrant Protection is obtained from rank A+ missions.

Opinion stickers are used on the Feedback Wall. The Feedback Wall is a 9×6 grid where sticky notes of matching color can be combined into notes of higher value, up to level 4. At least 3 notes must be contiguous to be combined, with combinations of more than 3 generating extra notes. When level 4 notes are combined, they add 6000 to the resources counter to be distributed at the end of the event, up to 90,000. Blue stickers grant Combat Reports, pink stickers Analysis Blueprints and orange stickers Sardis Gold.

CN server
As supply stages had not been implemented when this event ran in CN, the ingredients needed were obtained by spending Intelligence Puzzle to play one of three difficulties of Mellow Commission drone escort in Boundary Push mode. The mission started by gathering enough Special Supplies on the map to power the drone. The Transporter then advanced on its own, but could be paused to gather extra Standard and Special Supplies on the way, to obtain a better Transport Rating and more ingredients at the end. Auto Mode for Mellow Commissions was unlocked after achieving a certain Transport Rating, and would repeat the result of the highest Transport Rating achieved. The Transporter would gradually loose Filter Life as it advanced and loose speed as it decreased, while running out of Filter Life would fail the mission. Filters could be gathered from the map or taken from fallen enemies. The Transporter could also loose health points due to enemy attacks or collision with an Electroweb, which needed to be disabled. Transporter upgrades were unlocked with new café ranks. Café ranking depended on two indicators, Beverage Sales which required Special Supplies and Self-Serve Bar which required Standard Supplies.

International servers
Other servers collected ingredients by playing supply stages, which are regular combat maps. Unlike other events where shop currencies are earned directly, the supply stages in Zucchero Café instead yield Coffee Beans and Cloudberries.

GFL2 Story#Chapter 8.7: Bitter Thorns and Daisies

The story of the original CN event only contained pre-battle dialogues loosely related to the previous event (Exotic Cadence) and was acknowledged by Sunborn as non-final. Like Exotic Cadence and Intertwined Assault, Zucchero Café never reran in CN, and its story was rewritten into a new main story chapter that was directly added to the story archives in CN. Zucchero Café corresponds to the new Chapter 8.7 - Bitter Thorns and Daisies (苦涩荆棘与矢车菊).

In international servers, the three rewritten events ran with their new story and reworked gameplay (with Exotic Cadence being retitled Amidst Wings of Gray). The original story was never available in the international servers, but the five supply stages (Last-Minute Request, Emergency Repairs, Long-Lost Colleague, Silent Assistance and Bomb Disposal Expert) retain the names of the stages from the original CN event.

Trivia
Trivia
*Unlike Amidst Wings of Gray, the event wasn't renamed when running on international servers. However, like Amidst Wings of Gray, the story was rewritten and the story mode was renamed from “Zucchero Café” (方糖特调沙龙) to “Bitter Thorns and Daisies”. The original story only contained pre-battle dialogues and was acknowledged by Sunborn as non-final. “Bitter Thorns and Daisies” (苦涩荆棘与矢车菊) was added to the story archives in CN instead of “Zucchero Café” and didn't run as a separate event. The original story was never available in the international servers, but the five supply stages (Last-Minute Request, Emergency Repairs, Long-Lost Colleague, Silent Assistance and Bomb Disposal Expert) retain the names of the stages from the original CN event.
*While there are themed drinks for Spring, Summer and Autumn, there is no drink for Winter.
*There are only six drinks in the CN version and ten in the international versions, but assets exist for two more drinks, titled "Affogato" and "Morning".
**For the CN version, there are also assets for six more Material Levels, an extra Self-Service resource and three more Self-Service ingredients: coriander, black tea leaves and Black Spanish Radish.
