Weapon Background[edit]
One of the more iconic American weapons, the M60 general purpose LMG began development in the late 1940s. Design specification stated the need of a lighter 7.62mm cartridge firing squad support weapon to replace the outdated M1918 BAR and M1919 Browning MG. Several prototypes were produced, designed with reference to the German FG 42, the final model was named T161E3, after development the said prototype competed against the FN MAG in the procurement process and won. Official US Designation for the T161E3 would be M60, The M60 accompanied the US military from 1957, seeing heavy service in Vietnam with lesser usage into the present day.
M60 operates as a gas-operated, air-cooled, belt-fed, automatic machine gun. Able to cover an effective fire range of 1100 metres, it fires at a rate of 500-650 rounds per minute while feeding on belted 7.62x51mm NATO cartridges. Despite drawing inspiration from the design of FG-42, which had a semi-automatic fire mode, M60 is capable of only automatic firing.
Despite it being the lightest 7.62mm LMG of its era, a common complaint of M60 was its weight, being awkwardly balanced and difficult to carry over a long distances. Other user feedback of the M60 talked about how it was unreliable under extreme conditions of Vietnam and prone to jamming, and some sections of the gun being poorly made and break easily. Despite these issues, "The Pig" as she was affectionately nicknamed would become appreciated for its simplicity, ease of handling, and effective use in various firing positions.
With all these flaws, the M60 or some of it's variants still serve the US Army even into the present as squad support weapons, mounted weapons and as coaxial machine guns. M60s nowadays are mostly replaced by M240s and M249s, though some units only have M240s as supplementary weapons alongside their servicing M60s.

Trivia
- In her CG art, she used an earlier version of M60 that were used in mid-stage of Vietnam War.
- Her chibi sprite's firing animation is the same as Rambo, a notable fictional character played by Sylvester Stallone, who is known to fire the M60 that way. (also the head band motion)
