Gameplay

A miniboss of sorts, Thunders first appear in Shattered Connexion as a rare enemy, usually alone or accompanied by abandoned Gunner soldiers, and patrolling an area. They are incredibly tough, with a massive health pool and high armor, and almost always start with a full-strength force-shield, requiring the use of Fire Support Teams to destroy them. In addition, they will periodically generate a health shield (similar to the kind SG S.A.T.8 S.A.T.8      and HG HS2000 HS2000      give) for themselves, effectively regenerating themselves several times over the course of a battle. In addition, their attacks are very accurate and do large amounts of damage, but their attack pattern is strange and they will often opt to give your dolls a health shield instead.

Shields Up

Deploy a shield with 150% of its max HP, lasting 6 seconds.

Mobile Tactics

Increase self evasion by 1900% and switch to sniper mode.

Sniper Mode

Reduce its ROF by 50% but increase damage by 150%, dealing guaranteed damage that ignores armor, lasting for 6 seconds.

The Patroller cycles between defensive and offensive phases, with evasion stats that makes night battles somewhat more challenging. In its offensive mode its attacks gain a piercing effect and it will target the frontmost unit. This makes   Taunt Fairy an extremely valuable asset as its center alignment and its forward positioning causes the Patroller's attack patterns to become very simple to play around. An easy alternative is to put a tank into the front center and simply kite to the sides during the laser attacks, not unlike fights with the Rodeleros. Due to, it's somewhat lengthy intervals between defensive (hard to kill) and offensive (opportunity to kill) phases, its recommended to take a shielding unit to reduce damage taken, with HG P22 P22      being one of the better options as optimally only one unit needs the shielding if units are positioned accurately. Lastly, using damaging units that can't miss and can deal their damage in a small time frame, is the most efficient method to clearing Patrollers. RF M200 M200      is most notable for the inability to miss, and as with most enemy units, skill timings are important, so leaving auto skill off is generally recommended (alternatively Commanders may choose to select the "manual skill" option on specific dolls, leaving the auto skill on for easier combat control).
