[Beep]

RO635: Testing, testing, this is a mid-mission report from RO. The operation is going well, I guess…
SOP2’s efficiency is a little low… I surmise her mood has led to decreased reaction times.
Yes, she’s noticed this, but things are worse than she thinks they are.
In the past one hour, she’s taken an average of 1.3 seconds longer than usual to respond to my orders.
The speed at which she executes commands is still acceptable, but she tends to space out while resting. It would seem her focus has noticeably fallen off.
For some reason, I have the feeling that she’s not telling me something.
I need to rely on SOP2’s experience when searching for M16, and we only have one more sub-sector left.
Still, it’s not just SOP2 but me who needs a rest. We’ve been working for 20 straight hours today. I’ve been under a lot of stress today, not because of work, but rather, because… I’ve been thinking about too many unnecessary things…
How strange. I’m clearly just a doll…
I’ll end my report here for now. We’re going to carry on.

M4 SOPMOD II: RO…?
RO…!?

RO635: Huh…?
What happened?

M4 SOPMOD II: We’ve finished searching this side, and it’ll take a while before the Commander’s forces reach here. Shouldn’t someone be standing guard over our camp?

RO635: Ah… yes… I’ll go...

M4 SOPMOD II: You’re the team leader, and you’ve been under a lot more strain than me during this operation. You can’t even keep your eyes open now, can you?

RO635: …

  • smiles bitterly* Yeah, I’d like to recharge or clear my memory cache…

Still, will you be alright by yourself?

M4 SOPMOD II: The nearby SF forces have all been wiped out, and waiting doesn’t drain too much stamina.
So let me do it. You helped me get to sleep before, let me do it for you this time.

RO635: Uh… you should just… forget about that, it was kind of embarrassing.

M4 SOPMOD II: Hehe, yep. Only you would do that, RO.

RO635: Is that… praise?

M4 SOPMOD II: Of course it is...
I’m lucky to have you here, RO.
I’m sorry for all the trouble I’ve caused you...

RO635: You don’t need to keep apologizing. It’s okay as long as you’re happy, and frankly speaking, you’ve been very good to me too, SOP2.

M4 SOPMOD II: That’s because you’ve been nice to me, so I did the same with you.

RO635: Haha… things would be much simpler if only everyone in the world was like you...
I’ll leave it to you, then. I’ll try and rest up as soon as I can, and then it’s your turn to rest.

Also, report anything you find to me.

M4 SOPMOD II: Now you really do seem a bit like M4.

RO635: Do you like that?

M4 SOPMOD II: I like it now, at least.

[...]
[An hour later…]

RO635: …
Urgh… the clock says it’s been an hour, it really did go by quickly...
SOP2… isn’t it your turn to rest?
SOP2!?
SOP2, are you there!?

[...]
[RO gingerly opens the door of the safehouse, but there are no Griffin signals nearby.

RO635: Dammit...
Why are you doing this again…
Why do you keep doing this!?
I should be able to trace SOP2’s signal… I need to find her.
