Weapon Background

The Remington R5 RGP (Remington Gas Piston) is a 5.56x45mm NATO carbine that was designed and manufactured by Remington Arms. R5 primarily refers to the monolithic upper receiver that contains the short-stroke gas piston system which cycles the rifle's action. The usage of a gas piston instead of direct gas impingement is an attempt to improve the reliability of the weapon. R5 is one of many AR-15/M16-style rifles that make use of a gas piston operating system. The R5 RGP was introduced around 2010.

The upper receiver/handguard is one unit made of high grade aluminum, and features a long piece of integrated Picatinny rail along the top of the receiver. The octagonal-shaped, free-floated handguard design allows for eight planes of accessory mounting rails, which when left empty serve as vent holes to help ventilate and cool the barrel. The R5 offers both a 10.5 inch or 14.5 inch barrel, and the user can quickly change out the barrel with a single tool. Whichever barrel the user selects, it comes with an AAC BLACKOUT flash hider. Other features on the upper receiver include the familiar AR-15/M16 style forward assist, brass deflector, dust cover, and charging handle. The R5 upper receiver can be fitted on any existing M4 MILSPEC lower receiver, or be shipped out with a lower receiver of Remington's own design.

Character Design

Contrasting with the gold-plated upper receiver she's chosen to use, R5's primary color is pink. She wears a pink shirt on top, and her long pink hair is tied back in a ponytail. Around her waist, she's tied a black sweater, under which is a black short skirt held up by suspenders. Using her carbine as a reference, R5 appears to be somewhere around 135 to 140cm in height.

A musical girl who looks very stylish, she knows a lot about many music genres and instruments. She's passionate and eager, but in truth she's not very talkative. She's very serious about her work and music, apparently because people had excessively high expectations of her.
